The menu is complete with all Italian favorites and the prices are very reasonable. The waitress was very attentive and kind. There is plenty of parking in the lot and they one a lot across the street. I ordered the weekend special, lasagna with choice of chicken soup or salad. I got the chicken soup. Very tasty and full of small meatballs. The lasagna was very good, a good size. I just found it a bit salty. But I enjoyed it. Another great dinner at Ralphie's. They don't take reservations so we waited about 30 minutes to be seated. Bar was full and there were many waiting to be seated at the bar. First they serve Tripoli bakery bread and that's an added bonus. My choice was their lasagna special which is only served on weekends. For $20.95 you get a cup of soup or salad and a huge plate of lasagna ( enough for 2-3 meals depending on your appetite). I went for the chicken soup that looks like Italian wedding soup and it was full of meatballs and delicious. The lasagna is my favorite dish at Ralphies. I love their sauce and it has a lot of meat. It is a lively place and can get loud as people are enjoying the food and the tables are close. We had the fantastic Thalia for a server. Although she had many tables to take care of, she made sure to give all individual attention. Drinks were never empty and she came back often to check in us. Discovered. By accident with 3 of my sister in laws. It was so good! The Italian dressing on salad is made every morning. It was so good. We all had generous portions of delicious food. First of all, fun. The atmosphere is family-oriented, very friendly, comfortable, bustling, and full of good vibes. It's a few steps up from pizza parlor but not up to "special-occasion-only" level. Prices are excellent, very reasonable, and the portions are huge. Staff was very friendly, funny, and efficient. Our server was excellent: Warm, welcoming, treated us like she has known us for years even though it was the first time we were there. Place is warmly lit and clean. The sauce, while there is too much added to the dishes, was not too acidic. Eggplant parm lacked the showy cheesiness because it was buried under a bit too much sauce, for example. The Caesar salad dressing was more like an Olive Garden Italian dressing, but the lettuce was perfect with Parmesan shavings and croutons, and it was a generous "add on" that the server brought out an extra plate for sharing. We checked out Ralphie's as neither of us had ever been. The wait was reasonable, the decor was warm and welcoming. One thing to know, if you get a pasta dish like chicken cacciatore, if you don't want two different sauces, let them know. You can't really combine your pasta with the rest of the dish otherwise. But, without even a flinch our waitress swapped out the red sauce for plain so it could be combined. That was top tier. She didn't even have to think twice. Have been going to Ralphies for 30 years. 100% Awesome food, clean, nice decor, great personable service. Until yesterday. Food server was worst in 30 years. Ordered main coarse and type of salad. No salad . Only after main coarse we asked another server about the salad. Punk kid/server came back and said. "What do you want to get it to go" but with attitude. Treated my wife and i like we were on his time, and he didn't have time for us. As a general rule my wife and i leave an average well deserved 25% tip. Last night this kid earned a $1.00 tip for his service or lack of. Just wanted to send a messgae that a tip is earned, not owed. A lot of people enjoy Ralphies. I did have a dish that I would consider a litmus test for Italian, that being Chicken Marsala. Supposed to be semi-thick Marsala sauce that will stick to pasta and chicken, floured chicken cooked tender and mushrooms. What I got was watery sauce, overcooked chicken and great mushrooms. Shame because the restaurant is a nice spot and when I've been there the service is very good. First test of a good Italia restaurant are the meatballs and the gravy.
