Wow, what a disappointment. The Faux Bouquet's execution of trying to get a finished, unbroken, timely arrangement that I purchased online to me, was so terrible, I actually opened a dispute with my credit card. I just cannot put so much effort into getting an item that I paid for, that is unsatisfactory to begin with, and of mediocre quality. I can understand human error, even multiple human errors, and delays, and even mediocre product. But what I cannot understand is why a vendor would turn combative when it came to trying to "make it right". The arrangement I ordered online came broken, and I didn't even worry because I just assumed they'd make it right. I've received broken items before, it's not the end of the world. I was thinking that what appears to be a mom-and-pop/small business, would really make the proper steps to remedy the issue. But it only went downhill from there. Instead of making me, the buyer, content with just making sure I have something that was given as a gift (but broken when my recipient opened it), the sellers over email really just were more intent on getting me out of their hair, probably because I "only" spent around $80 for their very high priced products. Maybe if I were a bride ordering thousands of dollars of merchandise, Faux Bouquets would have cared, because then I could tell all of my betrothed girlfriends how they, too, should purchase with this vendor. Sorry, I'm just a woman in Boston trying to get an arrangement for a family member. I even made it clear that their "fixes" were not really acceptable to me, and that being their customer was a very painful process that made it almost unbearable. She was closed, since its only by appointment, but she let me in and answered a few quick questions about her shop. Absolutely the worst experience with a company in a very long time. Sent the owner a picture of what we wanted along with colors in our sunset ceremony to have as a reference. There obviously was a great miscommunication as I did trust the owner, Brittany to make my bouquet and boutonnaire realistic and high quality. The box arrived and what was inside is in no way even similar to the picture I provided. We called the owner who raised her voice and became defensive. The company does not do any refunds and unless you pay even more for an "upgrade," you get whatever they send as they will not send you photos to preview. Paid close to $300 for what looked like flowers from Dollar General and one would find in a garage sale. Also upon opening the box, several of the stems were already falling out. Very upset and disappointed! Lesson learned to never trust what a business isn't willing to show ahead of time. I went by all the positive reviews and photos I had seen. I spent almost $300 on a bouquet and it has been a complete waste of my time and money. Their reviews and photos are so amazing across the internet. However, when I received photos of my bouquet a few days ago it looked totally wrong, nothing like the photos used to advertise. Moreover, I paid extra to have a custom bouquet and alterations. The bouquet photos I received were completely off base color wise. I have emails from them that said my photos conveyed a mix of dark and light colors. What I received was a bright bouquet with no darkness. I was beyond upset, as I had waited almost a month and a half. Moreover, there were succulents in my bouquet, even though my inspiration photos did not have them. I am in the process of communicating with them on my "extra details" but they just sent me an email saying that I am asking for too many changes. I get that they have clear rules on these alterations, but it is frustrating as I feel they did not deliver the first time around. This process has really been upsetting and not worth the headache. I was really excited to work with them, but I do not feel that way now. The only plus is they are kind in their emails. I will update this once I have the final product. Update! The bouquet was so bad I could not use it and ended up making my own for a quarter of the price! Plus their bouquet had only one large flower with a bunch of small and medium ones. Don't waste your money by giving them your business! I have cried for days. Over $700 down the drain! Do not be fooled by the "perfect" pictures on their website. I paid extra to have a zoom meeting and naturally, in a video the image is blurry. They sent confirmation pics before sending, but here's the trick: No up close pics of the disgusting shiny plastic. I sent an email stating the issue and their brilliant solution is to have me pay extra to have it sent back so they can make it into a centerpiece for my home. If it looks cheap why would I want to look at it everyday in my home? Also trying to come up with a solution as to how I can afford florals for my wedding now. I chose to go with fake florals for my wedding for a number of reasons, and I'm glad I made this decision. First of all, faux flowers don't die - amazing! Second, they look real (if done right), especially in pictures - perfect! Third, they're around the same price as real flowers (if not less), which may I remind you - will die. And finally - You can resell them and/or reuse them for house décor when all is said and done. I absolutely encourage any bride to strongly consider fake flowers for their nuptials. There are so many different companies and small businesses out there, particularly on Etsy, that are gifted at creating beautiful fake floral arrangements for weddings. With that said - I absolutely would *not* recommend The Faux Bouquets for this important task. I reached out to them first because they seem to have really beautiful bouquets on their website and Etsy page and have great reviews... Full disclosure: I did not get to the point of ordering my flowers from them due to the horrible customer service and communication from this company. They very well may create beautiful bouquets. But I am personally very surprised at the number of positive reviews for this company based on my experience. As a communications professional myself, I refuse to support and give my business to an entity that doesn't value customer service and prompt, responsive, personal communication as part of their company values system. Long story short, here are my gripes with the company: 1) Really, genuinely bad customer service. I felt as though each time I received a response from them, it was reviewed by a different person who didn't read our previous correspondence. It was very impersonal, and bottom line: I didn't feel listened to at all. I had to constantly repeat myself in my written communication with them, and felt like they copy-pasted boilerplate responses to my messages without actually reading what I was saying. 2) Slow response time. This company takes *at least* 2+ business days (often more) to respond to any email. While that may not seem like a lot of time at first -- when you have what you *think* are simple follow-up questions, a few days of slow responses can turn into weeks and even months. This is valuable time and energy lost for brides dealing with the stresses of wedding planning and herding cats with other vendors. For me, I went back-and-forth with this company for over a month (and I didn't even place an order!). 3) The hidden costs/fees for basic services makes you feel ripped off. They charge a 20+ percent fee (of your *entire order*) for things that are generally included for free in any standard Etsy transaction. 4) This company should simply be a custom-order only company. That seems to be what they push every customer towards, and they shouldn't advertise anything different because it wastes time for everyone. Bottom line: there are soooo many local designers and small businesses on Etsy that would kill for your business. I found an amazing woman who responded to my messages within minutes *every time* (not days, like The Faux Bouquets), and she completely understood what I wanted. I sent her a picture of what I was looking for (one picture, not three!) and she was able to make the most beautiful bouquets from that. What would have cost me $500 with The Faux Bouquets only cost me Here are my final thoughts for the seller, and this is genuine advice: -This company should simply include their "upgrade" as part of their normal sales operations and simply raise their prices to reflect that. The hidden fee feels really non-transparent. -They also should probably only offer custom orders. Don't pretend that you can provide a similar bouquet to what's pictured online, when you make the actual process so difficult in reality. Let's be real - rarely do brides only want only a bridal bouquet without matching/coordinating bridesmaid bouquets. Either change your business model to reflect that you only do custom orders, or actually offer matching sets for every bouquet -- to save time and energy for consumers like me. -Improve your customer service. Respond within 24 hours. Don't have all of your staff take three weeks off in the summer during prime wedding planning season. Put an actual human name and phone number to every customer response, so follow-up is seamless and personal. Actually read the previous email correspondence before replying, so you don't repeat yourself and frustrate customers who are already stressed with wedding planning. -For disgruntled customers like me, have the company owner follow up personally to address customer concerns. I felt as though my requests/concerns weren't acknowledged at all - if you can't accommodate it, that's fine - just be real about it. When someone is about to spend $500 on your services, they expect you to do your best to accommodate reasonable situations, and/or apologize when you can't. We are all humans.
