Frankly obsessed with everything going on at The Feedery and the entire Grow + Gather multiplex. SO MUCH is happening under one roof, with the mission of being a community center for local, sustainable, and fresh food at its core. The Feedery is the featured in-house restaurant where you can have your traditional sit-down dining experience. Indoors or al fresco if you're lucky! The menu leans more on the Mediterranean side from the owner's heritage, though the menu isn't constrained to one type of cuisine. The freshness of the ingredients speaks volumes, considering they grow many things in house. If they don't grow it, they source it as locally as possible. CHICKEN SOUVLAKI ($16) // Chermoula chicken, tzatziki, pickles, lettuce, onion, feta, hummus, roasted peppers. They plate this gyro very carefully. Don't let the lettuce on top fool you, each ingredient is layered for a reason, and when you bit into it, each ingredient shines. The chicken is tender, the veggies diced perfectly, and the kicker is the accompanying zippy sauce. Other items I really enjoy are the Italian Sub, Crispy Potatoes, Cheeseburger, and Colorado Grain Bowl. Also, they make a damn good side of fries. Crispy shoestring fries reminiscent of a big name fast food chain. Except you'll feel good after you eat these! From the grab and go market and coffee shop to the second story greenhouse, there are so many incredible things happening here as each season passes. I'm a big fan of the ownership and management. They really care and are genuine with a "community first" mindset. In Denver over the weekend and had heard the Feedery at Grow and Gather was getting many looks. We traveled over to Englewood to try out this healthy alternative. This place has a cool vibe with several outdoor patios and a vertical light growing room in the back. The hydroponic room is for herbs and veggies served at the restaurant. The cool vibe has a very engaging and helpful staff. We ordered the gyro sandwich and side salad while my my wife ordered the lamb sliders and sweet potato fries. Herbal teas were also available. The food arrived hot and the wait staff was attentive. The sweet potato waffle fries were delicious and lightly salted. The gyro wrap was packed with meat, feta cheese and lettuce. A side of tzatziki sauce was provided but the wrap was dry and had to much feta. The lamb sliders were good. Overall, this is a quaint and bit edgy place for a healthy alternative. I've utilized this place for a quick coffee once in the past. If I'm not mistaken, it was pretty much right after it had opened its doors. Yesterday, I had the chance to utilize, this time, for a quick lunch with coffee (of course.) I know this place has a separate coffee with pastry section aside from the main kitchen. This is not to say that they don't collaborate in any way. Upon stepping in, two ladies at the counter (in the coffee shop) warned me that their espresso machine had broken so they weren't making any craft coffees; they could only serve cold brew and drip coffee (and tea.) Bad timing to come back was I thought and yet, nice cold brew sounded good as the weather outside was gorgeous where I would definitely want to sit outside in the front patio to dine in. I had never had their food at yesterday's point. And it was a little past 11am where my stomach was empty, I was determined to have a nice protein rich meal. The menu is a good size; front and back. They do have separate drink menu (front and back; front is for non-alcoholic and the back is the alcoholic.) Whereas I am not much of a meat eater, I wanted to try something I usually don't consume. As I perused the menu, what caught my attention was the "Rustic Cherry Pork". When was the last time I had pork steak in a real sense? Probably years ago. A bit pricey at $26. The portion size is/was not bad. Two filets of pork were nicely seasoned. It wasn't over salted. The seasoning was just right. I know pork is hard to cook. The meat always comes out a bit chewy no matter what. Bit chewy and yet it was decently moist. This main plate came with one side. I went with the Garlic + Dill Potatoes. Whereas I tasted a good mount of salt in the tatoes, overall they were decent. However, I could tell that they were pre-cooked to a certain extent; they weren't as fresh as freshly cooked potatoes. My cold brew was refreshing. I asked for 2% milk and coconut milk. They did bring two creamers and yet both definitely had the same creamer (my assumption was that both of them were 1%; I could definitely tell.) My server, Maria H. She was very sweet to me. She didn't pour the milk into the creamer things so I know it's not her fault (the kitchen simply handed them to her.) The Pure protein filled me up quickly for sure. I could only eat one of the fillets as I got full. I asked for a box from Maria and she promptly assisted me. It was a quick less than an hour lunch opportunity for me as I brought work with me to this occasion (had to go back home to finish it up.) Since this place is located in the busy medical district on Hampden and Downing, I could only imagine how busy it would get on a gorgeous mid-week day like yesterday. I was glad that I arrived at the top of the hour at 11am when it opens. I would say that I can comfortably give this place a solid 4-star review. We were here for a tie dye class with Peace Addicts and because we.got here early we had enough time to get dinner - and boy were we glad. In the adorable space, I had a beautifully creamy and lightly spicy butternut squash, plantain, and ginger soup on the side of a bacon and gouda cheese sammie (!!). I finally had a chance to dine here! We sat on the excellent patio and explored the upstairs garden (where I'd like to live). Our meals were excellent! I had the Souvlaki with beef which was incredible! I would get it a hundred times again, even though there were at least 5 other menu items I wanted to try. I first went here for a Yelp event. I came back because I wanted to post a review. After all, it is a great spot. It has many amazing options like great views and places to hang out. The upstairs has the best view, tables, and a garden. The outside patio on the main level is very nice and has good views. Plus, there is a coffee shop, restaurant, and full bar. It has it all in one location. "Classic New American food made with fresh, house-grown, and locally sourced ingredients," I call it farm-to-table and delicious. The food was amazing! A local friend and I went here on a Saturday around 1:30pm. Parking was easy it was a great day for sitting outside or even inside near the open doors. Cute concept, using our phones we scanned the code, placed our order, split the bill and paid all on our phone. Servers brought us water, although I do wish they had some ice and our food. I got the Chicken pita and a side of fries, my fried got the falafel sliders and she helped me the eat my fries. Food was good, filling and service was great. What a fun little neighborhood spot! The menu is diverse, they have some great local beers on tap, and I loved the relaxed atmosphere. The night we were there for dinner with our daughter they had a live band outside, which was so fun. The dining room is casual enough that we felt like our toddler would do okay, and indeed she did. He made sure we were always full, had the scoop on our order and even helped us narrow down some equally amazing options. Wanna split your check? No problem. In fact, our waiter had already done this and was super speedy in getting us checked out. We stayed awhile to chat and watched as the main room filled up. Nope, no one asked us to leave. The Feedery at Grow + Gather is within walking distance of my apartment so it was high time I paid it a visit. While waiting for a table, I checked out the market and grabbed a coffee. The market is adorable, featuring plants and local items for sale. They were having a plant sale today where you could get vegetable starters. The growing availability of plants in the Metro area is so wonderful, in my opinion. I got the Lumberjack Latte, which I believe is a seasonal offering that is flavored with maple, honey, and cinnamon. It is so delicious and I will easily come back for several more before it disappears. On to the food. I came because of a particular brunch item I saw, but when I scanned the QR code I did not see the brunch menu (I came in around 11:30am on a Saturday). Bummer. But, since it's National Burger Day and I initially sought out a burger place, I gave the Grow + Gather Burger a shot with a side of fries. Sides come separately, which appears to be a growing trend that I have mixed feelings about. The burger was good and juicy, but I have a hard time deciding whether it's worth the $17 plus $6 for classic shoestring fries. I will say that I could have probably been fine with just the burger or split the fries with someone (I dined alone this time), but $17 for a burger is still a little tough for me. However, I do want to acknowledge the mission of Grow + Gather, as they focus on locally sourced ingredients and show at the front of their menu where your food is being sourced from. That's why I rounded up my otherwise 3.5 rating. They also currently include 20% gratuity automatically into your meal but give you the option to tip further (I also have mixed feelings about these "transparent surcharges" rather than just having them built in from the start without any extra hullabaloo, but that's a discussion for another time). I'll certainly be back for the coffee, but may only frequent the restaurant from time to time. The Feedery is a light and airy restaurant near Swedish Medical Center where lunches can be busy. There are many vegan and vegetarian options of soups, salads, and sandwiches. Sadly, only two of the three dishes that our party ordered were satisfying. The Souvlaki pita with roasted red pepper soup was a hit. The soup was vegan yet had a lovely creamy texture and roasty flavor. The souvlaki was juicy and flavorful. The gyro sandwich (special that day) was dry and salty with way too much feta, but the fries were ok. The Village Salad was basically a pile of bell peppers and cucumbers, unripe tomatoes with one or two olives and a sprinkling of feta cheese. Maybe the gyro stole the feta from the salad. A side of overcooked salmon ($8!!!) was sent out later on a side plate looking sad and dry. Again, the Feedery is a cute environment but the pacing was unbearably slow (I know they mention that in the menu but, it was beyond slow, it was glacial.) and the food was not that great. Service was generally attentive, although when we wanted to pay we had to seek out someone on the staff to get our bill. I am not likely to return unless I'm killing time at Swedish. read more

I really loved The Feedery. My family went here for breakfast to try a new place and the reviews looked great. It did not disappoint. I love the atmosphere, a chic farm feel, beautiful wood tables. We did not realize they had just a small breakfast menu ( 3 items), and we were thinking about leaving at first since our kids had wanted pancakes initially and they didn't have pancakes on the menu. However the food seemed intriguing and breakfast burritos and a egg bowl sounded good to them. I'm so glad we stayed, the food was absolutely amazing. I ordered the breakfast bowl (added on bacon on the side) and I loved the guajillo pepper sauce with the fresh eggs and perfectly fried potatoes- the taste was spot on and so fresh. The kids and my husband loved their food as well. Overall the nuisance of freshness and flavors really made this food so great and to a next level. They have a nice looking, much larger brunch/lunch menu starting at 11am so I definitely be back very soon. To top it off, the service was great and staff was very friendly. First timers and will be returning customers. If you like Greek style food, this is best I've had in a very very long time. My fiancé and I ordered the spinach artichoke dip with half chips half pita. We could both happily eat our way out of a barrel full of this. Only problem was we think the cook forgot about it as the chips and pita were almost burnt. We also ordered the souvlakis. His beef and mine chicken. Oh my goodness, I don't think there is a language to express how divine these entrees were! The tzatziki sauce could be eaten alone as it's that amazing. Everything was appropriately spiced the temperature on point and ingredients texturally spot on. Our server was very sweet and she told us about the open herb garden upstairs. We loved that the spices came directly from the rooftop. You can tell when it's fresh versus dried. Our only complaint was that our starter came out after our entrees. Big reason why there aren't any pictures as we had to rush eating both before their temperature dropped. And it's a shame because the fries were incredible until they lost temperature and then we had left nearly all of them. Can't reheat fries. The pilaf was way too smoky I mean I felt like I was inhaling smoke with each bite. When we addressed the runner/cook about our starter he immediately threw our server under the bus saying she's new and doesn't know how to put orders in right. He said this outside in front of the other customers. We thought that was pretty low. Being a former server with many cooks as friends, I know his claim was untrue. You either get a screen or a print out of the order. If you clipped it to where you couldn't see something or neglected to read the entire order, it's on you the cook. Any experienced chef or cook knows that a dip is an appetizer and not an entree. We will be back and hopefully the cook will have learned some manners and accountability by then. read more

Great concept and very fun vibe! It's a restaurant, market and rooftop garden/greenhouse all in one. We had lunch here last week and loved it. First is the market which has great garden tools, plants, books and local Englewood tshirts. It also features a small bar which has hand brewed teas and coffees. While we waited for our table we wandered through it briefly and could see the large hydroponic vertical garden in the back part of the building. They do a tremendous job of growing their own ingredients so it's truly urban farm to table cuisine. Outside in the front they have a flower garden and also grow herbs, fruits and veggies on-site. The food menu looked great from my Yelp search and showcases many of their homegrown bounty. The options aren't too overwhelming, not too large of a menu, just right really. They have seating on their small patio and also inside, including some bar stools if you want to enjoy a casual linch. The burrata, pesto and green tomato starter was transcendent and we were told seasonal, so that was a no brainer. We shared the cubano and the burger - both were delicious and very fresh. I was so pleased with the attention and care of the food and fresh produce which you rarely see at a restaurant in the middle of a city. For dessert we shared the seasonal crumble which was like a puréed strawberry melt-in-your- mouth treat. Make sure to add a scoop of vanilla ice cream! Yum. Four stars for a potential! Such a different and fun concept where a store, coffee shop and restaurant are under one roof. The Feedery is a name of the restaurant, and I was really looking forward to their wine Wednesday (you can pick bubbles, white or red wine flight plus a glass of your favorite wine for $20). Tons of space inside and outside but despite a cool glass window where you can see all the herbs growing, the decor is very plain and not exciting, almost depressing...Didn't feel any different or special at all. The food was ok and the service could be more attentive but can't complain too much. They do have a small parking lot plus all the street parking. Overall, it's 3-3.5 stars for me right now but will definitely give it a chance again. read more

I am not a huge tofu person, but the way they cooked it went so well with the pickled veggies. I feel like they could even fry the tofu to get it to resemble flavors even more, but I still very much enjoyed my meal! My husband and I, who live in the neighborhood, gave the Feedery another shot for lunch. We wonder why we keep on coming back. We always second guess ourselves when we do go. But we really like parts of their concept: sourcing quality ingredients in-house, non-corporate consumerism, etc. Yet, there is always something inconsistent with their dining program. This time we noticed they have a new online ordering system via QR code. We tried using it to order drinks because we noticed they had a nice seasonal IPA on tap behind the counter. I ordered a Caesar salad and my husband ordered a grain bowl with a side of falafel. The ingredients were great! Very fresh and packed full of nutrients! But, again, it was inconsistent. The lettuce on the Caesar was not chilled and it ate dry with not enough dressing. My husband's grain bowl was a massive portion (nice) but drowned out the two little falafel it came with (sad). We sat around for a significant amount of time waiting to ask for a take-away box for the leftover grain bowl. Eventually we had to flag someone down. Upon paying for our meal, the online payment system asked for a gratuity and we had to ask ourselves what exactly we were tipping for. We would have preferred a flat service fee since the front of the house did not do a lot of hospitality and it wasn't clear if the back of the house got anything from the tip. The feel of this place is what I look for when I travel out of town. It's local, and the service was amazing! They have unique things on their menu. I ordered the lions mane sliders with a side salad and I got an iced dirty Chai to drink. The sliders had amazing garlic and spice flavor. The Chai was on point with flavor and not overly sweet.
