They also did a great job of bagging up my order to go with utensils and napkins in the bag which I really appreciate. They also even tape closed the box so nothing spills. When I got home and sat down to eat, the food all looked delicious and made it home safe because of the careful packaging. The granny grilled cheese was the perfect mix of sweet and savory that I adore. It was a little messy to eat, but I was eating by myself at home so I didn't care. The tomato soup was the perfect addition to a snowy day. it was warm and flavorful. The cheesecake was also delicious. I got the mini one so I could convince myself I was being healthy but wish I would have gotten a full sized slice because of how delicious it was. I got my order to go for a couple different reasons but one is that they don't have the largest inside seating area and it tends to get pretty full. It's nice to come on a summer day because they have a pretty large outdoor seating area that you wouldn't be able to use in the winter is parking but there's a lot of spaces in the area.

At first I thought it was a bad call by the landlord. Now that they are located in Elsah, I realize he did them a favor. Beau and Terri rallied and took on the challenge of relocating their restaurant. They searched hight and low and found the perfect location in Elsah, just 8 miles north of the old location. Elsah welcomed them with open arms and issued them the first liquor license in the history of the township. Since the relocation I have been multiple times for lunch. You cannot go wrong with their famous Mushroom Asparagus Soup or one of the popular Paninis. I've also been to a wine dinner that impressed me and my cousin who is a wine connoisseur. The wine and food were paired beautifully. Experiencing a regular dinner in the boutique dinning room is also a delight. Their menu changes regularly, but I must say when you see Terri's Lasagna being offered, that is a sign to order it. You will not be disappointed. All the servers and staff are spectacular. It blows my mind how many of them can remember the names of all their regulars. It makes for a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Next time you're traveling the River Road, take a detour into Elsah and visit State Street on LaSalle.

Most of the patrons were the "after church" family crowd (assumption on my part). We got the scoop on the owners from 2 elderly women sitting at the table next to us. The had been there many times and were making food suggestions- that's why I opted for the buffet. If you had been to the restaurant when it was The Fin Inn, you'll see they kept the aquariums that line the walls. This time they have more tropical fish- cichlids, goldfish etc. The river fish and snapping turtles are gone (at least in the area I was in). Both were good, with the Martini taking the Blue Ribbon. The menu has a good variety and the prices are affordable, too. I couldn't decide on an entree, so I thought I"d have an appetizer while I figured out what I wanted. One of the waitresses picking up drinks recommended, Lasagna Fritta. When they announced they were coming back, I started following them on FB so I stayed informed and knew when they were opening. I swung by on the opening day and enjoyed some Avocado Toast and a Mimosa. Them having a liquor license to offer Mimosas and Bloody Marys is A+ for me. Brunch or a late breakfast is not complete without an adult beverage. In addition to my Avocado Toast which was excellent, I picked up a few sweet treats for friends. I got a brownie for one friend and a Cinnamon Roll for another. Both were well received, but the one who received the Cinnamon Roll, wrote me a thank-you note. Now that really says something when you get a written note for a sweet treat. Dolci's is conveniently located to my home and my part-time job. Actually, it is just across the street from my job, so I know where I'll be stopping on the days that I work. Oh, before I forget, the Macaroons here are amazing. This is a jewel in Lincoln County!…read more Two years ago this place burned to the ground in a devastating fire during a dry spell and a day with high winds which made for a dramatic response from fire department all over to fight the flames. But, this owner group was determined and they rebuilt the club house in less than 18 months! AND, IT IS BEAUTIFUL!
