The food here was delicious. We had the brisket and the bacon steak. Yes. Bacon steak. So much yum. Our server was very pleasant and timely. We didn't wait long for any service. Couple of minor things. The French onion soup had almost no cheese. And the little cheese was the wrong cheese. Cheddar while delicious doesn't belong in French onion soup. However, the soup itself was very good. Other thing was that they charge you for toppings for your baked potato?!! I have never seen anywhere charge for that anywhere. Other than that a solid place if you want a really good meat fix.

Did not get what we ordered and the ribs were completely dried out and burnt. I went with my familiy of 5 and wanted to try everything so we got the $125 platter. This was supposed to come with brisket, side ribs, sausage, pulled pork, bacon steak, chicken wings, some veggies, fries, beans and cole slaw. They did not give us any chicken wings or bacon steak. The ribs were so overcooked and dry that we could only get a few bites out of the whole rack. See images of burnt ribs remaiing on our plates because we could not eat them. The brisket was very fatty, but ok. The sausage was fine. The pulled pork was not very flavourful, and it was just really dried out. Half way through our meal, I asked if we would be getting the wings and bacon steak. The waitress said she would ask the kitchen. She came back a few minutes later and said we got extra sausage and they were out of bacon steak. This is the kind of thing a customer should be told when ordering a $125 plate. She said they were out of bacon steak but would give us double wings now (instead of no wings if I had not asked). The vegies were about 1/2 a carrot and 1/4 a zucchini. These were not bad, but given the volume of food should have come with more. The fries were quite good, as were the beans. The cole slaw was not what we had expected (creamy and not vinegery) and nobody liked it or ate it after one bite. The chicken wings were cooked, and just salted and peppered, there did not seam to be any other seasoning. They were well cooked, but did not have any flavour other than that of chicken and a bit of pepper. I note that they sell their BBQ sauce, and I thought that we would get a chance to try it and maybe buy a bottle to take home, but even with all the meat we ordered, I don't think there was any BBQ sauce. Everything was dry and if it had BBQ sauce, it was burned onto the ribs. Everyone was underwhelmed and felt like the restaurant was basically trying to rip us off by not giving us 1/3 of the meats that were ordered. In the end, we filled up on the fries, sausage, pulled pork and beans for $150. There were a lot of fries. Even without the rip-off, the food and service would have only received 2 stars, because I don't usually give 1 star reviews unless something is terribly terribly wrong.

The French onion soup was excellent! Both my brother and father loved their meals and they both had the brisket. The woman server was friendly and on it! We stumbled upon this place because I was searching for places to eat on Yelp. I would definitely come back. We came here late afternoon on a Sunday and it was dead. I am sure they are likely crazy busy on weekend nights or weeknights.

After half eating my bbq baby backs..mmmm

They say if you get here late you don't get the brisket... I got here at 7:30 and missed out... Boo...... So I had to "suffer" with getting baby back ribs. Lol... All in all it's a cute little place, lots of light, clean and friendly, free wifi and lots of tv's to watch a game, cold beer and lots of bar stools ( and regular tables too duh)

The mac and cheese with Canadian bacon, green onions and bacon bits. So good!!!

Just had lunch here as we are relocating from TX to Alaska and WOW this was good! My husband had the pulled pork sandwhich and cornbread, I had the pit salad that had red peppers, cucumbers, pickles, tomatoes, cheese, bacon bits and dressing. I added smoked chicken to it. So good! Everything just melts in your mouth. We shared the mac and cheese with bacon and green onions in it. That thing is BOMB. Now I get to crave it all the way to Alaska! :( The food is a lot so you get your money's worth!

Staff friendly, out door seating which was lovely. The pork ribs were good but the fries were dry and crusty. Still worth a try if in the area.

We got a loaded Canadian burger and a butter chicken bowl with rice and tsazimi (no onions) and we' were happy with our orders! We were heading up to Kickinghorse for a hike and wanted a nice meal before we started the trek. I ordered the steak sandwich. It was done perfectly. My steak tasted so good, cooked just as I had requested and seasoned very well. The caeser salad was delicious. It cost me $23. My friend ordered the spicy chicken wrap also with a caeser salad and she had nothing but good things to say about. We ate every last bite. We started asking our server what we should do for the day, he's the one who suggested the hike, he also told us that if we buy a specific pass we can go up 7700 feet hike the mountain AND visit the grizzly bear refuge and meet Boo the bear. He gave us a story of Boo and then told us to have a drink at the restaurant on the mountain which is the highest restaurant in Canada. Our entire day was set by that meal. Great hospitality and great meal. Come here for the food and ask them what you should do for the day.

Having worked in the food industry--as a a bus boy, waiter, kitchen help, bar back cook, sous chef,…read morechef in food recovery, and through running a non-profit--I've come to realize that for me, it's not just about the food. What truly makes an experience memorable is the service and hospitality, especially when people go above and beyond without being asked. On my way back from Alberta, I was passing through Golden when traffic came to a halt due to an accident. I decided it was the perfect time to stop & top of gas Next to the Petrol Station was Time to Eat Legenz. Reluctant but positive I decided to try the plane out. From the moment I walked in, the service stood out. My server was warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. When I mentioned I was craving some soul food--something heartfelt and not just "cookie-cutter"--she took it upon herself to ask the owner if they could do something special. Even though being hesitant under her recommendation I had ordered a burger, while waiting and having a smoke she came out & said that they can make a unique, off-menu dish tailored just for me. Within minutes, I had an incredible meal in front of me. The gesture itself spoke volumes. It is not about food but about the hospitality, kindness, and willingness to make a guest feel valued. That's the kind of service you can't put a price on. So, while I can't fully review the menu itself, I can absolutely give this place a five-star review for the hospitality and human connection they provided. To the team at Time to Eat Legendz: keep up the amazing work. You've earned a loyal customer, and the next time I pass through Golden, I'll be sure to stop by again.

Review Visit: July 13th, 2015…read more It's time to start talking aboot my trip through Canada. What a LEGENDary and craZy time that was. 50 hours from start to finish. That was our drive from our home area to our destination in Canada. Of course, that was just the drive time and didn't account for the stops along the way. Most of the stops were legendary but not as legendary as the Z. We were coming to the end of our drive to Nakusp, BC and we needed to fuel up for the last few hours of our drive. I was hungry. The kids were hungry. My cousin and his wife were hungry. It was the perfect time to stop. We quickly used google to look at what was near us and I can't remember who stumbled upon LegendZ as a place to eat but after a round of votes, it was the one we ended up visiting. Weary and road-lagged, we walked in and were greeted with that friendly Canadian attitude we've quickly come to appreciate. The feeding grounds of choice was a table due to the number of us. As we were seated and given menus, I looked around and couldn't even begin to digest the 50's American culture that was present. LegendZ felt like it belonged on Route 66 somewhere. As we adjusted to the diner seats from the van seats, we cracked open the menu and started looking it over. All of us quickly noticed that the offerings were very similar to what you would find in a diner in America. Cheap and greasy food offerings with a touch of hometown/local flair. There was your standard burgers and sandwiches. Your usual all-day breakfast items. Poutine (which I hadn't had at this point in the trip). A big variety for a small place. Orders were placed and within maybe 15 minutes, our food was brought out to us. Kind staff and fast cooking for a table of 5. Not too shabby. I ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger with french fries as I needed something that would pack a punch since we still had 8 hours of driving to go. When the food, we all kind of smiled that exhausted smile that comes after such an arduous trip. What I was expecting was nothing like I got. My expectations were a bit low due to being tired and wore out. I thought it would be your run-of-the-mill food where it doens't blow your socks off but doens't leave you wanting more. That first bite in to my sandwich, I knew we made the right choice. The bacon was thick and semi-crispy, just how I like it. The burger patty was juicy and seeping in flavor. The combination of those two things plus the toppings and condiments made for a heavenly taste. It came with french fries, which were crinkle cut and alright. It's hard to make fries exciting and these were standard fare. Being the last stop before we hit Nakusp, BC... I am not sure if it was pure exhaustion or what but LegendZ was loved by us all. At this point, we had been on the road for maybe 45 hours and still had 8 hours to go. Maybe that factored in to the food tasting extra delicious Maybe it was delicious on it's own. All I know is that it was just one of our many stops in our epic two-week cross countries trip.
