Walking in I immediately noticed all the COVID precautions put into place such as plastic dividers, temperature check, masks being worn on all employees and extra sanitary measures. Everything was super clean and I felt comfortable the entire time I was there. The ladies there were super helpful in helping me choose a color. They took their time trying different shades of pink until they found the perfect one that suited me. The tools used for my manicure were taken directly out of the sanitizing machine and other new things such as buffers were used. As for the manicure they took their time and were super gentle during the process of cleaning and filing my nails. My gel manicure came out thin and even. This was, by far, the best gel mani I have ever gotten in... maybe ever. Really, it made me yearn to move back. it was definitely worth the 40 mile drive. In the weeks that followed I did every conceivable thing to sabotage my nails. hauled furniture, gardened, painted, scrubbed with wire mesh, never, ever wearing gloves. It was insane how perfectly they held up. Not one break, chip, or peel off. Its been nearly three weeks now. If not for the fact that my nails have grown out, they look as great as the day I had them done. Not kidding. Those ladies have serious skills! I noticed that their process is in some ways different than the other salons and am certain those measures account for the durability and polish. They also don't rush or cheat. Another big thing for me... without my asking, both women took additional steps to correct or minimize imperfections in my nails - the sort of things that I feel embarrassed to call out. Over the years, I've been here a few times when I've been back in town, and my mom has come here once in a while, but not since Susan herself stopped working here. Before yesterday's visit, it never struck me as anything out of the ordinary, but they've made some amazing changes to their services which make this place really stand above the rest. My mom and I stopped in here for manicures early afternoon and were attended to immediately. The three technicians working (one male, two female) were very sweet, and attentive to my infant daughter who watched us from her stroller. I have had bad experiences with guys doing my nails in the past, so I was a bit unsure of how this would turn out, but the man technician who did my nails was top notch quality and super attentive to every detail in the process. My nails (and my mom's) look great, but the whole experience was worth waaaay more than the $10/manicure price we paid. Why? Well, with your manicure, you get a nice hand scrub and massage, a complimentary paraffin wax treatment for your hands (!!!), hot towel, a neck/back massage during the paraffin treatment AND a massage (with some deliciously warm neck compress) while your hands are drying. I've paid $15 extra for paraffin treatments in the past, and could not believe that this was all included in the $10 price tag. My mom also got a wrap put on one broken nail and it looks good as new! My friend even spoke with the owner beforehand to explain how meaningful the appointment was. I was scheduled for an 11:30 a.m. soak-off and a 12:00 p.m. full set. I arrived on time and waited. Around 12:10, the nail tech finally sat with me, looked at my nails, and said, "Your nails are not off." I told her I had confirmed the appointment with the owner and that the soak-off was supposed to be included. She began using the drill to remove the nails, and the heat became painful. I asked her to stop. She then told me she didn't have time to do my nails, spoke in her language, and walked away. I asked the owner what was happening, and she simply told me to make another appointment because she had other people to take care of. After years of trying to give this salon chances, this experience was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional--especially on a day that was so important to me. I will not be returning, and I hope they take customer service more seriously moving forward.

I really wanted to love this place as I just moved to the area but the pedicure I got the other day…read morewas awful. For some reason the woman who gave me my pedi cut my big toe nail extremely short and in the process really cut me up and did some damage under the nail bed. I'm on vacation now and walking hurts (not great when you want to walk on the beach and around town) and I've been waking up at night with throbbing pain in my big toe. I'm now just praying it isn't infected. What is the point of getting a pre-vacation pedicure if it ends up hurting you and making you miserable and worried the whole time? I should mention the man who gave me my manicure did a nice job and was very nice but I can't risk going back to a place that may injure me or worse, give me an infection.
