I went to this place around 5 years ago, and it did not impress me to come back. However, I decided to give it another try the other day. I ordered conch fritters and mixed ceviche. The conch fritters were tasty, but some of the seafood ingredients were not chewable. I took home some of the remaining conch fritters and ceviche. When I got home, I had the "runs"...something that I ate at this restaurant caused this; I had not eaten all day except when I came here. I threw out my take home food, and I do not intend to return ever again. In addition, the place looked beat up, the men's room had no paper towels, and I question the freshness of the food that I had eaten. My once 5-star rating has now become a 1-star, and if I could put ZERO, I would. My family and I come here often, so we decided to come and enjoy a Friday night here with our 2 year old. We got there at 7:30pm and seated shortly after (roughly 7:45pm). My husband went to wash his hands, when our waitress approached the table and rushed me to order appetizers and drinks, in which I complied. My husband sat back down and she confirmed our drinks, in which I put in my daughter's kids meal (7:50pm). My daughter didn't eat until 9pm. We asked her politely for water 3 times in which each request was accompanied by an eye roll. We didn't get water until I kindly asked another waitress to bring water and she helped us immediately. We asked for Kimchee sauce with one of our appetizers and when it was served, the sauce didn't come. Fine. It came with 2 soy sauces. She came to the table 10 minutes later and I asked nicely for the sauce. Her reply was "No, one of those is Kimchee sauce". I had to explain to her that there was 2 soy sauces there and then around 5 minutes later she brought it. I get that they are short-staffed and busy, but is being nice too much to ask for? We asked for the manager at the end, and she blamed it on how busy the restaurant was and threw her employee under the bus saying how she was overwhelmed and was usually accustomed to working lunch shifts. When the waitress brings back our card with the receipt, she threw the tab on the table and walked away. For the first time in our lives, we left ZERO tip. There was no accountability for returning customers over the last 5 years. So sad to say we won't be returning. Oh, the manager gave us fish dip and raspberry jam to take home on our way out and said "this is for your breakfast tomorrow". You say that we should be forgiving for bad days. We addressed the problem with you prior to the waitress purposely throwing our tab on the table after she was addressed, who does that? No. We pay for a service and she had a nasty attitude the entire time. Instead, the paying customer is expected to forgive and go back to the restaurant in hopes that we pay the same price and just maybe we will be given good service depending on the mood of the waitress that day. Came today for Mother's Day lunch, and absolutely loved it! Upon walking in we were greeted by several friendly waiters, all wishing my mom a happy Mother's Day. We arrived shortly after they opened so we were seated immediately, although when we left there was a long line for a table. To start they give you complimentary fish dip and crackers. The serving of fish dip is small, but delicious! You can get more servings for $1 each. My mom and I each had the Double Lobster Tails grilled. It comes with two sides. I had tostones and the house salad. The dressing on the house salad was amazing! I wanted to get a bottle to take home it was so good. The tostones were large, crispy, and delicious. The lobster tails were a good size and cooked well. They didn't come with a side of butter like I usually have my lobster, but I was happy (saving calories!). I'm sure that you can request a side though if you would like. My dad has the Calamari Pasta with the pink sauce. He raved about the pink sauce. I tried a bite and I can definitely see why! Raw oyster (check) and the sushi is tasteful. The ambience is relaxed and you can enjoy some jazz and blues. The staff is always up and around to service you. From time to time you may experience a bit of a delay usually around jazz nights. This is my go to for seafood. I've been coming down to this area for 5 years . I don't know how I never found this place before. Well, maybe because it is nondescript in corner of a strip mall . Arrived for "Happy Hour" ordered a dozen oysters ($0.50 a piece during happy hour) and per my waitress recommendation I ordered the fish soup. I have had a lot of fish soup from all over. This was, without a doubt , the most flavorful delicious fish soup I have ever had anywhere . Blows away Greek Islands in Chicago. This was my first time however will not be my last time . Interior gives a traditional Florida feel , especially a Gulf Coast restaurant and bar. I give it five stars for food and atmosphere and I hear they also have live jazz music. I wanted to give 5 stars because the raw and charbroiled oysters were great! But the jumbo cocktail shrimp, not so much. Usually cocktail shrimp are severed fairly cold, and these were more like room temperate. Then there were the crab cakes, the outside was warmish and the center was very cold. I asked the waitress if they were frozen, and she said they were made there fresh. So I hope that's true and maybe they just prep and refrigerate until they have to fry them. So she was super nice and said she'd get me a new order of crab cakes..... another gentlemen brought me the same ones I was eating just re-fried. I ate them, because at least they were hot that time. And they were decent. Not the best, but pretty good. Really hope she wasn't lying that they're fresh. There's one other thing that didn't rub me the right way. The owner (she definitely had to be the owner) walked past a server who I guess accidentally bumped into her, and she tapped him over the shoulder and said - and I quote - "don't bump into me, I detest that". Um okay, she really doesn't like to be accidentally bumped I guess. It just looked like she treats her staff kinda crappy. That's no way to talk to anyone who accidentally bumps into you. I am not often compelled to write a review. But this place absolutely deserves it. We found this place via good reviews on Yelp, and were a little surprised to find it in a strip mall. Please do not let that turn you away!! My husband and I were in town visiting from Seattle. We are used to great quality seafood. What was here at the fish house blew us away. We had the lobster bisque soup, ceviche, grilled octopus, snapper, and tuna tartare. We like to order octopus if we see it on the menu because it is notoriously difficult to cook without it becoming rubbery and we feel like it is a good indicator of the quality of the restaurant. This was the best octopus we've ever had. The ceviche was also to die for. It came with some sweet potato, cooked corn, cracked corn and red onions, which seemed strange, but it all melded together perfectly. The lobster bisque had huge chunks of lobster in it. The tuna tartare came with tostones instead of chips. Their plantains as a side were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I wish we could come back again and again. If we ever find ourselves in Miami again, we will certainly return! read more

The waitress had an attitude from the start. Never got water refill , actually had to get up and grab the pitcher off the bar counter. For a while she was gone and we got tired of waiting to order dessert, by the time she returned we asked for the check. We wanted to tip with cash so we asked her for change for $20 and she actually said " no I have no change". Her loss since she got a mediocre tip. This place is amazing! Let me start by seeing this isn't my first or second time here. But tonight's dinner was not anywhere up to par. The service was terrible even though I arrived 45 minutes before closing. The restaurant was almost empty. My waitress comes up to me and immediately tells me I need to hurry cause they're closing soon and won't take anymore orders after x time. Already feeling rushed when I'm still uncertain what I want to eat. All got a simple glass of water. It took her over 10 minutes to bring me the water! But did bring me the fish dip and crackers. First time here for a birthday gathering with 10 people and our waitress was Marta and she gave us excellent service with a great attitude. I just fell in love with this place. They start you with a fish dip and crackers which is delicious. We shared the parmesan oysters and the coconut shrimp which were amazing, we each had a cup of clam chowder which is the only thing I was a little disappointed by, it was too thick and didn't have much of bacon or clams. And we finished by sharing the twin lobster tails and the octopus as entrees and both plates were perfection. We had the house chardonnay which was surprisingly good. Nice size restaurant with plenty of tables and chairs a small counter with a couple of stools and it had two different rooms. The décor is like a fishery and a fisherman got together and decided to decorate. They also have Live Music on certain Days! When you get seated you get a complimentary small smoked fish dip with a couple of crackers. Pretty Kewl! I have also had their buffalo breaded shrimp, raw oysters, and lobster bisque. All were good and tasty. For my entrée I have had the shrimp pasta, grilled fish filets, steamed snow crabs, and fresh caught cracked stone crab claws. They all tasted good and fresh and they come with two sides of your choosing. I usually get the cole slaw and the yellow rice. They don't have a full bar but they serve beer and wine. They have daily specials on food and drinks. They also have 50 cents oysters on Tuesday with the purchase of a beverage. Went for lunch on Saturday because I figured it wouldn't be as busy, I was right. Place is small and parking is limited. We were promptly seated and waiter came by within 5 minutes. We ordered oysters (very fresh), fried fresh catch (grouper), dolphin fingers and kid's shrimp. Considering it's in a strip mall and not fancy I do think it's a bit overpriced. The fried grouper fillet was $25 and even though it tasted good it wasn't even big. I wasn't impressed with the dolphin fingers and ended up using lots of lime and some tartar sauce to give it more taste. Caesar dressing tasted like mayo so I didn't enjoy the salad. I might return to please the hubby since he loved the oysters but I will more likely try a different place. read more

The Fish House is one of the few places that you can actually go every week and whatever you order will be consistently cooked to perfection. The mahi mahi can sometimes be overcooked but not here. The fish is always fresh and moist. The service is great and you can't beat their lunch specials. My favorite dish is the creamy garlic shrimp pasta. The portion is big enough to have left overs. Another dish is the shrimp and rice. Perfectly cooked yellow rice with plenty of shrimp. The taste is amazing. Instead of bread they give you crackers with their famous fish spread. She broke down the menu for us and gave us tips on what to order. The menu is a little difficult to navigate and understand, but after Marta broke it down, it all made sense. Awesome waitress, with a great attitude and superb customer service. The restaurant is split into, what seems like, two general areas. One side has the live jazz and blues music with more of the relaxed, "just want to hang out" vibe. The other side has the more quiet typical sit-down restaurant feel. Over the years I've been here many times and granted its not near any bodies of water. lol They manage to serve delicious seafood every time I dine in. They start you off with tuna dip with a smokey-ness to them and crackers that are so delicious. The mahi is always my fish of choice and always grilled just right. Our server was a bit curt and did not give off a warm and fuzzy, however, she was fairly efficient. Also, the place smells way too fishy for my taste: I know this is a fish place, but why does it have to smell so fishy? Ive been to other seafood restraurants where the fish smell was not so pronounced. I don't know what the other reviewers ate to rate this place so high, but my meal was not very good at all and no one else in my party was very happy with their food either.
