This place has everything you need for our SoCal fishing if that's a day at the lagoon or a night dropping for 200lb bluefin. This shop does get busy and the staff are constantly working. Last time they recommended better line for my rod and reel setup and wow, what a difference it has made for my casting abilities! This is my local tackle shop, all serious anglers that been fishing saltwater or big lake bass get there rods fixed and tackle necessities right here. The assortment is phenomenal. Treat these guys like they are your uncles helping you out cuz they actually care to help ya catch fish and help set you up properly -rod line reel and rig! Jim, Kenny, and Randy are super cool.. Ive gotten half a dozen rods fixed perfectly all in a jiffy, and plan on taking my reels for service again at the end of the year here. Ive overall gotten maybe 1k$ worth of lures rods and tackle from here. No more worrying about inconsistencies and bad or no products. read more

I really like this store. I'm kind of late on the review but I went there a couple of weeks ago. 2-3 weeks ago to be exact. It was my first time there. It was really busy actually I was quite surprised l. I'd gone to a different fishing store and it was dead. I was really happy though with Ryan in the front. I arrived around 5. Went to pick up my 3 reels after being serviced. I walk in and the guy was nice and said hello. Then he asked "do you need a gift certificate or something?" Wow, I am so sick of people being sexist towards women. I have been fishing for over 20 years. Not gonna go there again. Even after he realized that I'm picking up MY three reels he didn't apologize for the way he acted. At least at other tackle shops they apologize after they realize they were being sexist pigs. Not cool guys. Get your act together. As far as the services received- the reels don't feel smooth. Not impressed with this place at all. read more

Horrible customer service and they are straight scamming all of there customers and whoever that purchases fishing equipment from here , I really feel bad for you. They are up charging on all items that you can go buy for more than half off at your local Big 5. Place is full of crooks! I bought a fishing pole and reel for $70 when at Big 5 that same setup was listed at $25. These guys are an absolute joke! Was referred to Fish 'N Fools by a friend. Needed some basics and also some help / advice as I am relatively new to surf fishing. Great shop, clean, bright and a huge selection - Most importantly - to me - great people! A young man helped me find what I needed, asked him some questions I had about a new reel that was purchased elsewhere - we consulted the reel expert - he checked it out and instead of taking reel in for repair since it was so new - he said it makes more sense to send it in for a warranty claim to save me some money!!! Gotta love this place! The guys are super nice, and very knowledgeable. They know the local fish, and how to set you up for success. They also know how to leave you alone if you're just there to browse. Very few tackle shops are that respectful. Whenever you need help, the first thing they do is ask you what you're fishing for and what your price range is. And they really DO try to keep within your price range. I always end up spending more, but it's nice to know that it's MY decision to do that. They never try to upsell you. read more

Be Careful Shopping here, . Rating this on two bad experiences not just one. Went to buy a rod there I knew what I was looking for what I wanted. They kept trying to sell me some $300 rod saying how much greater some out of the country made shim-sham crap stick was than the made in USA local company Seeker rod I wanted. Kept trying to force me to buy a rod double the price of the one I wanted. I totally understand wanting to make a profit and make money but don't be pushy and if someone comes in asking hey what kind of rod do you suggest, then by all means sell them some 500 dollar shimano rod.. or calstar, but if someone comes in and says hey I'm looking for a seeker inshore pro 808 then he knows what he wants already. Then a separate time since its local had paid them to put line on my new reel. Spectra braid and a top shot of fluorocarbon $15 bucks wasted cause the fool working there obviously didn't know what he was doing or was not concentrating and talking to someone else while winding on line cause this weekend when I went to use that reel on the boat it was underwound, loose criss crossed and couldn't even use it without the deckhand and I spending 20 min pulling 200 yards of line off un-crossing it and re spooling it. Missed a good 30 min of fishing and wasn't happy at all. I'd say stay away from this foolish place Seem Careless and in a rush to make a sale.. but hope they improve, fishing retail stores are becoming less and less. read more

Came here with my man to gather some information for our upcoming fishing trip. We weren't really sure what to expect, but we left fully satisfied. The man working the shop was beyond helpful. He gave us tips on where the best spots are for fishing. He not only told us what bait to use, he walked us there and even let us know what color the fish seem to respond to the most. The pricing here was decent. I wouldn't call it cheap, but I wouldn't call it expensive. Maybe a little bit more expensive than the tackle shop my hubby goes to in Van Nuys. To me, it's worth saving the gas and coming here instead of driving out to Van Nuys (being I live in GH). :) The variety really surprised me! The shop seems really small from outside, but when you walk in, it's a food-sized store. Lots of stuff to choose from. My husband needed lead heads and a new jig, and he found both of them here exactly how he wanted (but maybe $1-2 more than he expected). The cashier seemed really knowledgeable and helpful as well. I liked this place, and I recommend it. Definitely worth a shot if you're in the GH area. :) read more

Not overly impressed with their customer service. If you are not local or cannot visit their store I would suggest that you give them a miss. The owner is only there one day a week and the staff basically say that it is not their problem that the email address on their website doesn't work. They immediately suggested that the rod had been stepped on or dropped which is silly when they have not looked at the pictures that I had emailed them. They seem to need to tell you the same thing over and over again as though you are unable to understand them the first time but in the process they clearly don't want to hear what you have to say or ask. The guide broke due to dry solder. Basically a one way conversation unless you insist that they stop talking for a second and let you get a word in. Not a great experience. read more
