Folks, I usually do…read morenot do reviews but I would be remiss if I did not take the opportunity to comment on this business. This business is the real deal! I contacted Mechanicomp late in the afternoon last Saturday (06 th , November, 2021). I had the pleasure to speak with employee Emery and I mentioned to him that I thought I needed a battery for my older IPhone 6 (only use it for emergencies as I leave it in my vehicle for those purposes) . I explained the problem and I asked Emery what the price would be for a new battery and installation. Emery told me that the cost for battery and installation would be approximately $29.00 - $30.00 plus taxes. At this point I asked employee Emery if I misunderstood him, that price seemed so realistic that I thought I mis-understood him and he once again stated that the cost would be approximately $29.00 - $30.00 plus taxes and he then added that this price was a ball park figure. Employee Emery told me to bring the IPhone to his shop Monday morning and he would have a look at it. When I hung up the telephone I had a good feeling in my stomach after talking with employee Emery. He seemed professional, respectful, interested, knowledgeable and most accommodating. Fast forward to 10 am on Monday morning (08th Nov., 2021). My wife and I attended the Mechanicomp business located on Airport Pulling Road, Naples , Fl. (It should also be noted that we are from out of country and we were not familiar where to go for IPhone repair services. I googled IPhone repair in Naples, Fl., and after reading all the reviews on the different business's I felt confident to go to Mechanicomp, they had awesome reviews. We were met in the store by employee Emery. Emery was very polite, friendly, professional, accommodating and knowledgeable. This store was clean, bright, vast amount of electronics, the store was just as inviting as employee Emery. Emery treated us with respect and he made us feel so comfortable. I explained to him that I called on Saturday and once again explained the situation and the ball park price he quoted me on the telephone. Emery checked the price on his computer and he told us that the price for battery and installation was $24.00 plus tax not the $29.00 - $30.00 plus tax ball park figure he quoted over the telephone. This was honesty in the pure form, I have never in my life been quoted a ball park price and to find out later the price lower than the quoted price, we were so impressed. We left the IPhone with employee Emery and he said to come back in an hour. When we returned, the IPhone battery was repaired and installed. At this point I would like to add that employee Emery seemed like a person that we knew for years but only spoke with him for a short period of time. It was so refreshing to meet such an impressive and friendly employee, this is an attribute that we seldom see in this day and age. I wanted to wait for three or four days before submitting a review, I wanted to ensure that the repair was working properly before my review. Low and behold, my IPhone 6 is working the way it should and my repair problem was rectified by employee Emery. We chose the right business , we chose the right employee ( although for some reason I think all employees at Mechanicomp are no doubt as courteous and professional as Emery (It's just a gut feeling I have). I'm hoping the owner/manager of this business understands how impressed we, as customers, were with employee Emery and how impressed we were with the service and the atmosphere with-in the store. I believe employee Emery is an ambassador for your business, keep up the great customer service Emery, it was a pleasure. Can hardly wait to go back to Mechanicomp for the next repair, all the best. Connection issues with my cell phone brought me to this A T & T store. When I was in town a few…read moreweeks ago, I had absolutely no ability to receive voice calls at all and often was unable to connect to any network when I was not at my parents' house on their wifi. I even called A T & T customer service when I returned back home and got a partial refund on my cellular bill. I was advised to visit an A T & T store if the problem persisted the next time I was in the SW Florida area. Well, here I am, and the problems continued. I came in on a Monday and was promptly serviced by Halim. He suggested switching out my SIM card, which he did at no cost. I watched him scroll through a bunch of stuff on my screen and tap a bunch of buttons - woah! But twice he tried to get me to change my service plan. TWICE. Why? One of the lines I have on my current contract has the old grandfathered unlimited data plan; Halim told me TWICE that I really and truly didn't need that unlimited plan any more, even though the user of that line uses in excess of 10G a month. Gee, I thought I was here to fix my PHONE, not change my PLAN. Okay, we made a couple of test calls and my phone's working now. I even called home across the Gulf! Woopee! I leave. But I have to go back the next day. For I am constantly presented with messages that my voicemail password is incorrect and that I need to re-setup my voicemail. But it can't retrieve my greeting and it's failed. Then I'm given the "incorrect password" screen again. It won't connect to the internet at all. There's also no signal at all. When I do go back to the store, Halim is nowhere in sight. But I am checked in on a nifty iPad (akin to the Apple Store or the DPS where my name then goes up on a TV waiting screen) even though there are only 2 other people in this huge store. Once I'm finally tended to, it's discovered that the Cellular Data had been turned off on my phone. Huh? That's why I had no internet and I couldn't connect (iPhone 5's rely on cell data for voice). That's enabled at the store. When I get home, I discover that iMessages and SMS messaging have ALSO been disabled. What the heck did Halim do to my phone? Good grief. I doubt whether I would let anyone at this store ever touch my equipment again. I'll fix it all when I get back to Houston. I've been an A T & T customer for a LONG time and I've never had to go back to a store 2 days in a row to fix one of their employee's incompetence. And I SO resent the hard sell to change my plan while I'm not in my home city. Are you kidding?

After the replacement, I noticed the screen was not flush around the bezel. When I brought this up, the technician told me that my phone frame was bent and it's a common problem with this model (hard to argue against after bendgate, but my frame didn't appear bent). Later that night, I noticed inconsistent lighting throughout the screen and my typing accuracy was drastically reduced. Approximately three months later, I had another mishap and the screen broke again (this time much more easily than the original screen). I took the phone to the Apple Store and had it replaced for $109 plus tax. The difference in quality is AMAZING. I have fallen in love with my phone again. The screen meets the bezel perfectly all around (so my frame was definitely not bent), the color and lighting consistency is beautiful, and the touch accuracy is incredible. I am so in love with the original design intent of this phone and cannot believe that it was so terribly tarnished by the garbage screen pushed by this mall kiosk technician. The pleasure I get from using my phone now has compelled me to write this review. Plus, this location charged $120 for the replacement!
