DO NOT USE! This was the worst experience I have ever had with a moving company - I wasn't able to supervise the move so they didn't wrap some items at all - put unwrapped non replaceable items in boxes and the pieces were shattered and broken - they didn't wrap not dismantle Pilates reformer (very expensive item) and did not keep the pieces to it together leaving me to figure out how to order replacement parts - furniture was not wrapped therefore fabric was ruined - took down curtain rods but didn't keep pieces together so that'll be a nightmare to find and put things back together! They also didn't label the boxes that they did pack. I was so dissatisfied and disappointed I trusted them to treat me fairly and protect my items and they absolutely did NOT - I would not recommend at all. read more

I had to move out of state with less than 48 hours' notice. The Flat Rate Movers were extremely patient and flexible about scheduling, even when I had to change the date and time several times. The crew was stellar, very knowledgeable about prepping items and organizing/packing the moving truck. They did an amazing job and were super careful with our items. Best of all, every employee with whom I spoke was tremendously kind and professional. 10/10 would recommend!! Don't move without them! read more

I called and spoke to Henry looking for help on the second day of our move. It was a Sunday and he quoted $300 for 2 movers and I was told they'd meet us in 45 minutes. I texted the storage location and my email address so he could send the invoice for us to pay with credit card. I never received the invoice and he wouldn't answer any of my calls when I called back. I understand if he changed his mind or couldn't find anyone last minute but it would've been nice if he had let us know so I could continue to look for help. Since we didn't have any help we had to pay for the UHaul another day. Very disappointed in the whole situation! Especially since his whole sales pitch was let us make your Sunday stress free. Licensed and insured?!? After a tenant hired this company to move their belongings I was told they would contact me regarding the damage flat rate movers did to the plaster walls in the hall and stairway. I called flat rate regarding the damage. I told Henry that the walls are plaster. He said he could send out a carpenter to patch the wall. I asked if carpenter was familiar with plaster walls. He seemed to hesitate on handyman's ability. I proceeded to tell him that I have a gentleman who does my plaster repair and that I felt more comfortable with him doing the repair than someone he was unsure of their ability. Henry then asked " Are you American? Do you understand english because I never said I didn't know if he could do plaster". It was at that point I realized I wanted no more to do with anyone associated with this business. I simply told him never mind. He then said he could send someone to patch and sand in the morning. I asked when would they come back to repaint the damaged wall. He told me that was landlord's/ tenant's responsibility. I assured him that it was his movers that damaged the paint to in turn damage the plaster. We don't touch up paint he said. He also told me he only uses his carpenters because it isn't cost effective to pay out side people. So, instead of me having someone come into my property to improperly repair my plaster walls which I would have to pay to have it redone I will simply have it done right the first time by someone who actually isn't rude in the process. By the way I am American born and raised. The only accent I have is a southern twang. What a rude thing to say in this day and age even if english was my second language I would know enough not to hire or recommend your business to anyone. read more

I hired Henry to move a new hot tub form my driveway to the far side of my house. When his crew lifted the tub we heard a cracking noise. When the hot tub was placed on my deck and unwrapped it from its shipping container the cracking was evident. I didn't ask Henry to pay for repairs or replacement, I only asked that his crew return to my home to move the cracked tub back to my driveway and when a replacement tub arrived, to move it to the deck. Henry agreed to that arrangement, that is, until the time came to do the work. Without Henry's crew moving the cracked hot tub I'm unable to accept delivery of the new tub. Henry won't return my texts or calls. He seemed like a reliable guy when we first met, I now know better. I regret hiring him and now must hire another company to get the job done. I'm surprised to see such negative reviews. I got abandoned the morning of my move by another moving company and called Flat Rate Movers. Henry and his crew moved me from WV to Baltimore. The truck was packed professionally, they didn't complain once despite working for about 8 hours before driving back to VA. They tackled my fourth floor apartment, with upstairs bedrooms, with gusto. I tipped them well as they deserved it. I would recommend them to anyone. Hardworking, good natured guys. Nothing damaged and everything in its place. read more

Do "NOT" use this moving company!!! I would like to express that I was greeted by HENRY the owner with a price sheet and required to pay 50% up front for a move on July 5th 2018. He seen all my items at my condo and also stated he would confirm the day before. I called 5 times and left messages on his voice mail on the 4th and no answer he was to show at 9am on 5th and wouldnt answer 15 calls on the morning of the move. He finally showed at 10:15 to move me and dropped several boxes damaging them going down the stairs. He then proceeds to tell me they will not be able to haul the boxes upstairs at the town home as they are falling apart. Keep in mind these were BRAND new boxes I purchased at HomeDepot. He then told me that I owe them lunch. After at my townhouse he asked for my slip to adjust the price and he added an additional $300.00 to my invoice. This company is one to gauge you and get you when you have no choice as you are at your destination. Poor Poor company and service. And as an owner you would think that HENRY would care about his business. I will always WARN anyone about his company. read more

This is the worst moving company I have EVER worked with. I scheduled a move with them and even confirmed my move the week before hand. Henry assured me (many times) that they would be there to move me on our agreed upon day and time. On the morning of the move, when the movers were late, I called Henry who promptly stated the movers should be there and he would follow-up with them and call me right back. He never called me back, stopped answer my phone calls, wouldn't return emails and the main office wouldn't answer or return my calls. I was left high and dry on the day of my move and Henry didn't even have the decency to let me know they weren't coming. I had to hire another company last minute and pay double what I expected to pay for a move. What an awful experience and I can't fathom why a company would do this to someone. I even filed a Better Business Bureau complaint, and the follow-up email from BBB stated that this company was no longer in business. Awesome, you aren't even in business and you agree to move people!?! Who does that?? This company does so stay FAR FAR away from them! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Everything started ok. The quote was reasonable and the movers did a good job packing everything up. However, when they came to unload at the new house, several things went wrong. Our expensive kitchen table had deep scratches. They were asked to put the furniture in the house and put some of the boxes in the garage. They ended up putting a nice bookshelf on its side on the gravel garage floor. Needless to say it was ruined when we found it. Henry and Chris said they would take care of the damage and send out someone to fix the table. However, once they left they never answered their phones again. They completely blew me off and left me with hundreds of dollars of damage to our furniture. Of course, they only take checks and they cashed our check the same day they moved us. As soon as they had our money, they disappeared. Very shady people, do not work with them. read more
