My Guys did a terrific job moving us from a three story house in Manassas to an apartment in Woodleigh Chase in Fairfax. Four crew members arrived with a truck on time around 8am and the lead walked throughout the house with us to see everything they would be moving while the crew laid down prote lion on the floors and stairs. All furniture was encased in blankets and delicate items got special protection. Clothes on hangers went in wardrobe boxes, so no need for us to pack them. The crew worked quickly but safely and took into account all special instuctions we gave them. The liading was completed faster than estimated so they were able to request an earlier move in window with the elevators a our new apartment. They quickly moved furniture and boxes into the locations we directed and immediately set out of re erect furniture like beds and table legs an even put together for us a computer desk we had purchased that was a box of parts when they moved it! MG movers proce was very reasonable for all the work they did and nothing was damaged or lost in the process. They are highly recommended by me. read more

I filed a claim and this is what their response was. Dear Ms. Bacot, We have completed our investigation of your claim for the damaged items. You selected the limited liability valuation for your relocation, and with this option, your coverage is limited to .60 per pound, per article and no more than $50.00 per article. Loss or damage claims under this option are settled based on the weight (in pounds) of the article. There is a $100.00 deductible for this coverage. Based on the contractual agreement under which your move took place, we would usually find that we are unable to offer any compensation, as the weighted cost of these items is less than the deductible. Sideboards of Bed:         $48.00 (Estimated weight 80lbs) Rug:                      $27.00 (Estimated weight 45lbs) However, as a goodwill gesture, I will waive the deductible for this coverage. We find our liability to be $75.00 We wish to take this opportunity to thank you for allowing us to handle your relocation and we apologize that the relocation of household goods seemed to not take place without incident. We used MG Moving and Storage for a move from Alexandria, VA to just outside of Richmond, VA. It always feels like somewhat of a crapshoot choosing a moving company, but we were 100% pleased with MG! The 5-person crew arrived at 8:30am, added floor and wall protection and started moving everything. We were told that the crew can work a maximum of 14 hours in a day, so we weren't sure if this might turn into a 2-day move. After packing everything up, they grabbed some lunch and headed south. The condo we moved into is on the 3rd and 4th floor of a 4 level unit, and although we have a (very!) small elevator which was helpful with some boxes, the crew carried probably 75% of our stuff up the stairs. Amazingly, they finished unloading by 8:30pm and headed back to Alexandria. These guys worked so hard, were pleasant and worked together well. read more

Move happened in October of 2024- Movers were complaining the entire time, even tried to talk me out of putting boxes where I wanted them. For instance if it went upstairs, they would try to talk me into leaving it in garage or in hallway. One mover would ask me to come inside to look at something, another mover got mad at me for leaving the garage and came and confronted me over it. It was discussed prior to move, that movers would move washer and dyer to basement in new house, when movers were there that day, they refused and said it was too heavy and they didn't want to take it down steps. Custom table was scratched, movers placed packaging tape on all surfaces, which ended up ruining several items. Office desk is cracked and falling apart now, multiple missing items: cooler, 4 ft tall nut cracker(passed down), boxes of Christmas decor. Filed a claim, was told I could receive $250 on a $6,000 move. Would not recommend, worst experience with "professional" movers. read more

Despite having the estimator at my home twice to evaluate my weight, and being assured that packing materials were included in the price, I was charged nearly 20% more for "additional" for materials! Prices were already well above market average due to a promise of "White Glove" service. -Once they have your household goods you must pay in order to accept delivery. -When I pointed out damage to the crew chief he stated that "the damage was there at pickup" despite him not being there at pickup. Yes, the damage was indicated on the documents; documents he completed and provided a copy after delivery! Thought with reviews this moving company would be a good choice. The move was only 4 bldgs down in the same complex. I had no living room or dining room furniture, only a bedroom set, office furniture and boxes. The quote was fair and thought the job would not take long as I hired 3 guys. They arrived at 8:15 figured they be done by 12noon. For some reason, they didn't finish until after 2:00pm. I was charged $400 more than quoted and probably would have been more if I didn't have to get firm with to speed this up! They reaked of weed which may have caused a timing issue . They unnecessarily took apart furniture they couldn't put back together. A week later, I have dresser drawers sitting on my bedroom floor. Previous movers never removed dresser drawers. They literally took apart the lamps and bookshelves they did not put back together. I am left to hire (at more cost) a handyman to repair and put back together the items they destroyed. They broke pieces off the slider track trying to force the dresser drawers in and out. Mind you I was only moving 4 buildings down in the same community and this move cost me $1400+! Our experience with My Guys Moving & Storage was excellent. Every aspect of the move was top notch. We had Gary, Orlando and Raymond on the unloading crew and they fast, polite, thorough and efficient. They were very careful with our wood floors and all entry ways were padded. Also, I look for little signs that most people wouldn't notice. The driver of the 57' truck had more than 30 years' experience and is a CDL instructor. The tires on the truck all looked brand new and had full treads. I not only feel comfortable having My Guys as my movers but also having them next to me on the highway. MG is a terrific moving company! I called and spoke with Terry who took my initial call right away. We went over the essentials for a preliminary estimate. Several days later Terry met us and we walked through everything and he answered all of our questions. Their office did a follow up with us as well. The movers sent a text 30 minutes prior to their arrival. They were very effecient and made sure to protect all the floors and doors and door openings. All the delicate furniture was well wrapped and care taken with all the pieces to be moved. The movers were very polite, friendly and accommodating. I had a car moved from VA to FL and another car from FL to VA. No problems until sports car to be loaded on covered van. It was then realized the front of car was tooo low to go up ramp. No problems until sports- the guys called in tow truck with flat bed who elevated my car to go into truck. Problem solved. The guys worked in rain but had to stop for downpour They were wonderful. Horrible experience, and was actually a personal recommendation, so very disappointing. Lowlights: *In-fighting amongst team members, wasting time and very uncomfortable situation for me. *Quote was not even close to what the actual came in as, and I had to hold strong that there was a serious bait and switch in order to resolve the problem. *The packaging job was crap - they used huge boxes (which I paid for) and packed them ungodly heavy so that I could not move them, nonetheless get anything from the bottom and I'm 5'6". *Very poorly labeled and no reason as to how they packed - Kitchen-Misc on pretty much everything. Misc was their favorite term to use. *Repeatedly 4 large sheets of paper to wrap a small tupperware container top. Remember - you pay for materials. *They stacked the incredibly heavy boxes upon delivery so I couldn't move any of them. I have a huge basement and they stacked up the super heavy boxes - so frustrated. Not a professional experience, do yourself a favor a take a pass. read more

We just did a 3 day move from PA to VA, 5 bedroom, three-floor house with a LOT of stuff. MG moving company packed on the first day, then moved onto the truck on the second day before delivering it on the third day. At first I wondered if it could have been done in 2 days but it actually took them full 7-8 hrs on the first and second day alone. The movers were very efficient and professional. They didn't damage or scratch anything. I was really impressed that they carried EVERYTHING on their backs to move out of the house, never using a hand truck inside the house, which could have the potential to bump the walls. They also re-mounted our TVs. We moved a piano as well and that also went smoothly. all the movers never asked for anything from me and always had a smile on their face even thought it was humid and 80 def outside. I bought them lunch all three days and tipped them daily. I would use them again in a heart beat. read more
