White roses with blue hydrangeas. My sister in law LOVED them!

Believe it or not, I used to only use 1-800 Flowers, Telaflora, FTD Flowers, or Bouqs, but I would wind up terribly disappointed and with sticker stock over the lack of quality and volume -- so I tried The Flower Cottage on a whim. They have now become my "go to" for ordering flowers for Mother's Day, Easter, and birthdays. I am elated with the fact that it looks beautiful every single time and is shockingly affordable!! My mom gushed over it for weeks and my sister-in-law fawned over her bouquet as well! The staff is so kind and professional. I spoke with a woman with a northern accent (sorry, I don't recall her name) who was so accommodating to the type of flowers and vibe I was looking for. The service, quality, and price CANNOT be matched. I will never use another florist again!

Located in a historic old corner store off Meeting Street, this flower boutique is a fantastic place to search for all things flowers. They also have a terrific selection of stuff for parties and special occasions. Peggy and Linda are so wonderful to work with. I highly recommend

Beautiful flowers for a baby shower - blue and white hydrangeas, sunflowers, tulips thistle, pom pom and roses -- rave compliments from all!

Peggy created a beautiful array of casual arrangements for a baby shower! We were all so pleased with the variety and colors and, as importantly, the scents! Loving them the day after as well! Thank you!

Flower Cottage knocks its out of the park EVERY time. We have used them for years and just when we think it's the best yet, they go and outdo themselves. SO amazing!

Exactly what I was going for!

A warm thank you to Linda at The Flower Cottage for designing a beautiful bouquet for our daughter celebrating her 19th birthday away from home this year. I called from San Diego and told Linda I'd like the bouquet in muted, soft colors with in season flowers and it sure turned out lovely!

I live on the west coast but my boyfriend's mother lives in South Carolina and was getting major surgery. It was difficult to find a good flower shop to work with not being entirely familiar with the area. You guys made a beautiful flower arrangement that looked just as advertised. Thank you so much for doing such a great job especially when it matters most. I only wish I would recieve an email notifying me of the flowers being delivered.

    Beautiful flowers!

Peggy was amazing, patient and so helpful for a mom who was a little anxious about vendor I didn't know.

Dear reader,…read more Charleston City Market is exactly the sort of place that makes casual browsing turn into a full-fledged expedition. It is full of jewelry, handmade gifts, local art, and all manner of treasures, and so many visitors seem to love the same thing: the sheer variety and the chance to find something that actually feels special rather than mass-produced. That absolutely tracked for us. The Market itself has been a Charleston staple for over 200 years, and it still feels lively, local, and full of character. What really stood out for me was an artist who went by Andy, who had a collection of pop art vinyl records that was genuinely fantastic. Using mixed media, he created pieces featuring different singers, musicians, and bands on old vinyl records, which felt both clever and beautifully done. I chose an amazing Mary J. Blige piece that was also hand-painted, and I was absolutely thrilled with it. The value of your dollar was VERY worth getting one (or more)! Cash only! Overall, this was a thoroughly enjoyable wander and a very good place to find art, gifts, and a few things you did not know you needed. I would happily go back.

We had no idea until we entered just how far it went; it goes "on & on"! So much history within these buildings. It's one of the oldest public markets in the U.S. Has weathered many storms and has been registered in the National Registry of Historic Places. Established in 1788 (even though the inside entrance stats 1807) & as of today it still stands on the premises of monetary trades & services, as well as shared cultural heritage. There are countess vendors throughout this retail galleria. We enjoyed mainly browsing the works of products that were officially certified as Handmade in Charleston. You won't get tired of looking, but a lot of repeat sellers. It's essentially like a flea market if you will. It was fun, but way too much basket weaving vendors. Was so intriguing to watch the Gullah artistry & understand its importance here, but would have liked to have seen and explored MORE local foods. Wished that they would have had a specific area that was an actual type of wet market/ open-air concept or traditional marketplace that sells fresh, perishable foods like meat, seafood, and produce focusing more on local eats and food heritage of its distinct low country cuisine. There were some food spots, just not what we had envisioned or experiencing with other east coast markets we've been to. Bought a bottled water that was over $5! Other than that, we didn't buy anything else. However, definitely worth a stroll and a unique experience. Perfect touristy spot! *Open daily 9:30 AM-5:30 PM Fri & Saturday Night 6:30 PM -10:30 PM

When I contacted the company for a return and to re-order the correct item, I was told this (copied and pasted directly from their email to me): Before you go ahead with a return, we want to make sure you're aware of the significant costs and logistics involved. Since our items are made and shipped from our manufacturing partners overseas, returning them means international shipping and customs processing, and unfortunately, those fees add up quickly. Return costs typically include: $25 to $55 USD in transport charges $28 to $72 USD in customs clearance fees These can vary depending on the weight of your parcel, but in many cases, they end up being more than the refund itself. I was under the impression that I was doing business with a US company...however, their goods are outsourced overseas. BEWARE this company!! Date of experience: 04 August 2025

My friend and I were walking down Broad Street in downtown Charleston on Sunday morning (playing…read moretourist in the hometown we've lived now for almost 30 years), and we happened upon The Boutique. From the exterior, it appeared to be a cute shop that may house potential presents for the upcoming holidays. We stopped in, and we were NOT pleasantly surprised. Although there were some items that could be purchased as gifts, the majority of them were overpriced and irrelevant for people of our demographic (young, modern, not extremely wealthy professionals). If you're looking for high end, porcelain figurines, fine bone China, or linens, you might find something here that you would like. But make sure you wear your best and have dressed the part, because as we stumbled into the store, we quickly realized we were not the clientele the store employees were looking for. We were hardly greeted by any of the women working and our every move was closely monitored as we walked through the store. Quite frankly, it was odd, and this is the primary the purpose of the current review. As we walked out of the store, my friend said, "Have a good day!" and the woman literally said, "Okay" with literally zero inflection or even fake southern charm. Those were essentially the only words spoken to us the entire time we were there (~7 minutes). I won't be returning, but I do hope others have better luck. The store has potential should the demeanors of employees improve.
