Called the Flower Cottage for a last minute order. Not only were they able to do same day delivery, but they also created a BEAUTIFUL arrangement for my mom! I was deciding between the Garden of Dreams and For My Darling Mom, and he said he can do the Designer's Choice and make it a mix of the two. First time was a hit, second time was a hard miss. They basically gave me a completely different arrangement including the vase and justified it with the substitution policy. I get changing out a few flowers here and there but the whole thing was unrecognizable. Should have taken a photo but I was in a rush. Unfortunately, I will not be returning and wish them luck in their business and hopefully develope a system where if it's not in stock they can call you to confirm a cancelation instead of just arranging a completely different one. As we all know people like certain flowers but a whole different arrangement with filler plants is not acceptable. read more

I called them around lunchtime. I asked if my sister could have her flowers delivered to work before the end of the work day. They made it happen!!! The person on the phone was incredibly nice!!! So wonderful. When she asked who they were for, I told her my sister because she had been so kind and helpful. She gave me her recommendations and we talked about what her card could possibly say. I went here because my boyfriend wanted to get flowers to meet my mom, such a gentleman :). I am used to grab and go at Safeway and when I asked my mom where better flowers were, she said nob hill. But luckily my boyfriend insisted on going to a florist, which I have never been for something like this. We walked into the cottage and there were extravagant flower arrangements on the left but they were for someone else. There was a fairly empty fridge but nothing to grab and go although I wasn't thinking of that. A lady, I believe the owner, behind a plexiglass asked if we needed any help and my boyfriend told her what we were looking for. I told her my mom likes pink flowers, I said pink roses, Gerber daisies, then I blanked... but saw a big basket of pink Peonies. My mom and I love those and she said it will be more expensive to include them. So she asked my boyfriend how much he was willing to spend. He told her and said she will make a bouquet within his budget and incorporate pinks and mixed greens. Sounded good to me, she's the expert! She asked if we were okay to wait and we were willing to be patient and walked around the place looking at all the different vases, cards, stuffed animals, and figurines. I like that she said it will be some time and gave us the option to leave and come back. It set my expectations and i know we walked in there last minute and she said they have been busy which is why they didn't have any grab and go bouquets. Someone walked in who ordered a corsage to pick up. She was blown away at how beautiful it was and said her daughter will be so happy because it is exactly what she wanted. We were almost done looking at everything when she called us up and they were ready. They made me so happy, it was beautiful, within our price point, and I know my mom is going to be impressed. My parents were very impressed with the bouquet and meeting the parents went amazingly! Thank you so much Flower Cottage! You are now in our memory and a point of reference for where things are located and where we can find parking at the end of the street. Will definitely visit again thanks to a great experience and part of a successful "meet the parents" event. read more

I have ordered twice from them in the last week and both times to be delivered the next day. They did not disappoint. Arrangements were beautiful and delivered when promised. For my mom's birthday I wanted to get her a nice floral arrangement. I saw the Flower Cottage had good reviews and was close to my home. I went in on a Saturday morning. I was greeted by the florist and she asked what I was looking for that I would like a birthday floral arrangement. She said I could pick from their fridge or get something custom. I wanted something custom. She asked around how much I was looking to spend and I told her $60. I asked her if it could be fallish and if they could add red roses. She said yes and asked what time I wanted to come back for it, I say 1pm. She said that she'd have it ready by then. I paid and came back at that time. The arrangement was beautiful! My mom loved it. Absolutely phenomenal!!! I walked in one day to order a bouquet for my neighbor, for the one year anniversary of the passing of her beloved dog. I wanted it to be gorgeous and grand, but didn't know exactly what I was looking for. I ended up selecting flowers and foliage from arrangements in their fridge, and I requested no carnations. The arrangement arrived at the correct time, and it was absolutely stunning. I don't have the words to adequately express how breathtaking and gorgeous this arrangement was! They all tasted like they came from bottles that had been opened weeks before being poured for our tasting. My fiancé asked if they had tasted the wines that morning to QC, and the tasting room hostess said she had. She either has no clue what the wine should taste like or she lied. Maybe both. We heard that this winery has been changing hands frequently and that in the past had produced good wine. I will keep my fingers crossed that who ever is the current owner will be able to turn this winery around. In the meantime I couldn't in good conscience recommend anyone making time to taste here.

Nestled in a busy shopping center, there's plenty of parking in the lot (even though it was a busy weekend afternoon/evening). While the store isn't the largest, there are plenty of books adorning the walls and lining the shelves in the middle aisles. There are plenty of the normal best sellers available, but also plenty of treasured finds. Though I only spent 20 minutes in browsing the stacks, I stumbled upon an independently published sports book as well as 2 childrens books I haven't found elsewhere, all of which will make great holiday gifts. Coincidentally, the day I visited was also BookSmart's 30th anniversary party! They had complimentary glasses of champaign as well as a photo booth for their regular customers (both of which I politely declined). It's great to see an independent bookstore thriving in this community. The next time I'm in the area, I will stop by and take more time to check out the inventory!

I asked if any were better for our climate/environment and she said with an attitude, "We don't sell anything that doesn't grow around here." She then curtly turned away and went on with watering the plants. I did not feel copacetic with her "customer service," so I bought my tree and decided not to go back. I would rather go to an establishment with less selection, but better service. Also, the prices are on the higher side for some things, but reasonable for others, it just depends on what it is. Either way, Home Depot works for me from now on, and if they don't have what I want, I'll research somewhere other than Johnson's. It's a shame, too, because the place is like walking through a botanical garden, only the vibe given by the staff is that "it ain't big enough for the both of us!"

I'd totally have had her do it too if I wasn't on such a time constraint. I had to have my son to Santa Cruz by 2 and we were at 1030. They made him a gorgeous carnation lei in burgundy and I had it by 1145. The staff and owner are the absolute sweetest! They went above and beyond to make sure they had a happy customer by the time we left. Where one shop lost a customer, stems gained another one!
