Brooklyn Diner & Pizza was such a pleasant surprise! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the sweetest woman who waved, smiled, and immediately seated me. Her cheerful personality set the tone for the entire visit. I sat at the bar and ordered the eggs, home fries, toast, and country fried steak. The home fries were outstanding, honestly some of the best I've had in a long time. Everything was cooked well, and despite the restaurant being very busy, my server was attentive, friendly, and made sure I had everything I needed. One thing that really stood out was the atmosphere. It's a true neighborhood diner with a huge four-page menu that has just about anything you could be craving. The place was very fun and cozy. Lots of neon lights and stained glass lamps. The food was " good diner food". We ordered omelets and my daughter ordered a chicken wrap. The omelet was good, the home fries were also very tasty. The service was not great, very slow for not being busy, and my daughter's wrap had blue cheese when she specifically said no cheese. It also took a very long time for her wrap to come out, to a point that we were already almost done eating our omelets. We had coffee milkshakes and they were delicious! We decided to give this NY Dinner a shot. We were pleasantly surprised.. it is a Bright classic red a checkered dinner feel. Let bed the live entertainment on a random Thursday evening. Every one of the staff were friendly and happy to be there. THe menu is extensive. We ordered an appetizer of mozzarella sticks Yummy. They surprised us with some complimentary beef empanadas sooooo good and crispy!! My dinner partner ordered the classic chicken and waffles. It was a huge portion and was amazing! This place is great! My friends and ate here after cigars and bourbon at Cathedral Cigars. The place was busy and they had a guitarist playing live music. The menu had any breakfast, lunch dinner (any pizza) as well. They also serve beer and wine. We just had ice tea and soft drinks to clear our heads after cigar smoking for a few hours! Came here on a Friday night around 11:30 PM and was pleasantly surprised that there was no wait at all, and we were seated immediately. The staff was incredibly personable, and the menu has a great variety, so there's truly something for everyone. Our waitress, Angelique, was so kind and attentive, she took excellent care of us throughout the night. We ordered the burger, wings, and pasta, and everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. They also brought out complimentary empanadas for the table, which was such a nice touch! The food did take about 30 minutes to come out, but honestly, it didn't feel long since we were busy catching up, and once the food arrived, it was definitely worth the wait. We sat down and got our menus then waited about 10 min for drinks then we waited for the server to come get our order. So I ordered the pancake special with eggs bacon ,ham and sausage. They didn't have ham so no big deal my hubby ordered the French toast special with eggs double bacon and sausage since no ham . He also ordered the bacon and cheese Stromboli. More than 30min later we got the Stromboli and no breakfast. 20 min later we got our breakfast. Yes the food was good but it wasn't worth almost an hour wait . I hate when I have to leave one star reviews, but this one was unavoidable. We went to this restaurant off of a recommendation of somebody my wife knew, and we were extremely disappointed. Well, they said everything was fresh and made to order that is completely misleading. the food may be made to order, but there's nothing fresh about it. It's all frozen foods that they probably do cook right then but it's not fresh with such a large menu probably 100 items on their menu. If not more there's no way everything can be fresh. That's just a start appetizer was mediocre at best. We got their loaded steak fries, but they're not steak fries. They were crinkle cut french fries. Misleading at best my wife and I ordered our entrées and to say that we were disappointed as beyond what we were, I ordered a chicken Parmesan sandwich with potato salad, and I received that however the chicken was extremely overcooked and burnt, and the potato salad was not made in house. My wife ordered a cheesesteak which had almost no cheese on it and the onions and peppers were cut into large sizes and not uniform small cuts like you would expect on a cheesesteak and they weren't cooked. Our server was great, however when the manager and I use that term loosely came over to the table about our issues she was completely rude and nasty about it and told us that's fried chicken. It's supposed to look like that and it's supposed to be that cooked and refused to remove it from the ticket, even though it was not ate. Told me I was wrong and that she knows how everything is supposed to be cooked and it was cooked properly and flat out refused to do anything besides remake it. I didn't want it. Remade was not happy at this establishment. We took our bill and went to go up and pay it and only after I said it'd be contacting the owner. Did they remove part of our meal that was in edible. This was not a very good experience for us. We will not be going back to this restaurant, and I find it hard to believe that they'll be open for much longer with the quality of the food. I was immediately greeted by the service staff and put at a table by the window. Today's order was a cheesesteak with onion rings, which were three dollars extra. The meal came out in approximately 15 minutes. The server answered all my questions and also upon giving me my food asked if I wanted a drink refill. The onion rings are between crispy and soft. They are tasty. The sandwich bread is fresh and is clearly made in house from pizza dough. The cheesesteak filling is properly seasoned, the peppers and onions are fresh. There is nothing wrong with the sandwich. It is very good! If you're coming here and ordering a cheesesteak and expecting a Philly cheesesteak, this is not it. Very dissatisfied with my experience. I placed a delivery order around 9:30 PM since delivery was offered through their online system. About 10 minutes later, I received an email saying my order was canceled with no explanation, so I had to call the restaurant myself. I was told it was because they were out of one item. I asked if the rest of my order could still be fulfilled without that item, and they told me I would need to place a completely new order. As a result, my card was charged twice. After reordering, I was given a delivery time of 11:16 PM. When 11:20 came and went with no update, I reached out to customer service, only to be told that this location doesn't offer delivery at all. We then went to pick up the food ourselves, and upon arrival, we were told the order hadn't even been started because they don't deliver. Can someone fix the Google Review to give Zero Stars or negative? The atmosphere was crowded, loud and chaotic. There was no direction on if you'd be seated by an host/hostess and there were large Burger King style tablets in the center of the room but again no direction if you had to fend for yourself or not. My daughter and I had been to this restaurant on two previous occasions and the food as well as the service was great. So when I went back today, 7/12/26, I expected the same level of service but that didn't happen. For starters, they did not have the item I had gone there specifically to get but I forgave that because menus are subject to change. I did choose an alternative but it took an exceptionally long time for the food to come. Additionally what I noticed was that the server was more concerned with the larger party than with me as a singular party. I was left to sit without anyone asking if I needed anything while other tables received their food and attentive service. This restaurant needs to rethink how they treat customers who dine alone. Single customers are just as important as parties with multiple members since we are paying money just like they are. While I'm unsure as to whether I will go back to Brooklyn Diner, I can assure you that I will never go there again alone. read more

A bit disappointed. This is my 2nd consecutive mediocre experience here. Both times I've placed orders for pick up with issues. First time the place was jam packed so I excused the poor customer service experience to that. Hey new place, big crowd, I'll let it go that it took 10 min to talk to someone to pick up my food. 2nd time around, the app tells me it takes 40 min for my food to be ready, I give a little buffer and I get to the restaurant 50 min after I place. When I get there, there is only 2 tables sat. I've been coming to this Diner for about 5-7 weeks now. The service has gotten a lot better than it was on the 1st trip. The reason for that is that they were SLAMMED by a TikTok video giving this place great reviews. They were turning people away because they just couldn't serve them efficiently. I was here this evening and I keep trying new things on the menu each time. The menu is like a Cheesecake Factory, many pages and a lot of variety. I will say their Chicken and Waffle is delicious and messy (it is a half a chicken). Tonight I had a Philly Cheesesteak Quesadilla. I've had 3 diff servers since coming here, Ali is the best but there is one that works during the day that she tells you like it is (honest) and I like that in re to the food. Came here at about 10pm. We were aware other reviews said service was slow so we mentally prepared ourselves for the food to take a while. We first ordered the penne à la vodka with blackened chicken/no mushrooms and said we would put in more food once we figured out what else we would want since we knew things would take a while. Well about 25 minutes after our initial order we had to get up to go find our server to order a calzone. Other tables around us had gotten a free empanada while they waited- we were never offered one. There was some live music going on when we got there which was very loud but she sounded great. About another 20-30 minutes goes by and our calzone comes out. We were shocked because we had placed our order for the pasta way before we ever ordered the calzone. The calzone was pretty good but greasy! We finished eating that and still waited at least another 20 after that for our pasta to finally come which had mushrooms in it and no chicken in it. The server said the chicken would be coming. Well we ate the pasta which taste nothing like vodka sauce and still no chicken and they never brought the side salad it came with. Again, we had to get up to find the server and decided to just pay and leave at that point. We weren't checked on when we had gotten any of our stuff so not sure what the point of having a server was. I worked in the service industry a long time and at least better service could've made up for the long kitchen wait times for food. Don't believe the hype!! My husband and I went to the Brooklyn Diner because we saw it on Instagram and I wanted to treat him to dinner. With that being said, let me save you time and money. Considering the place is Called Brooklyn Diner, and we're from Brooklyn, we expected to see more memorabilia's (pictures, street signs, etc) just to give it that Brooklyn vibe. We went this past Wednesday at 5:45 pm. The place is small, so we were surprised to see that they were setting up for Karaoke. We've never been to a diner with Karaoke but there's ppl who like it. We left at 7. I'm guessing Karaoke started shortly after we left. The diner was packed and the servers were busy going back and forth. Originally I ordered southern chicken only to be told about 5 min later that they were sold out, so I opted for 6 wings and my husband ordered a tuna melt which was good. After waiting approx. 30 min I received my wings, which hit my stomach like a bomb. Who knows how long they keep the same oil to cook their foods in. My husband's order arrived about 20 min later and the fries came 10 min after his tuna melt. He didn't touch the fries and ate 1/2 of the tuna melt because he aggravated. I asked for the bill and gave her my credit card just to expedite the process (my mistake). Before signing, I looked at the check and asked the server if they can do something considering how long my husband waited for his TUNA MELT. After speaking to her manager the server came back and asked if we wanted desserts. We declined because we just wanted to leave. She spoke to her manager again. She returned and said that being that they ran my credit card they couldn't do anything but if we came back to the diner then dinner would be on them. First of all, I was appalled that the manager NEVER came to our table to speak to us...that's basic 101 when you own a restaurant. Second, it's NOT a good way to run a business.
