Hi! We are repeated adoption parents! 5 years ago, Linzi and Gina helped us with our first adoption after the passing of our Ms Spats, a long coat Chinhua. They both were amazing in helping us find the perfect fit in Katie, a long coat chihuahua mix. Pnut and Katie bonded perfectly! Moving forward, we recently lost our MinPin Pnut. All I can say is - these people are truly the most dedicated, compassionate and honest animal lovers out there. We rescued our wonderful mini doodle 'teddy' almost nine moths ago, and we could not be happier. We were well informed on Teddy's life up until we rescued him, and felt we were in great hands. The Forgotten Dog Foundation was responsible for the safe return of our beloved family pet, Simba. Simba got off her leash and ran away. She was missing for 9 days. After many flyers posted around various places in Los Angeles, I was finally contacted with a GREAT phone call. The Foundation has not asked for the $1,000 cash reward, in fact, they would not accept the reward money. A $1,000 reward was posted on the flyer. I want to keep going and going and just tell you how this is the most amazing organization. Time is short but I have to keep going because this Foundation is something really special and magical. They helped with cleaning her up, took her to a vet, gave us new collars, tags, medications. EVERYTHING! I am eternally grateful to good people around the world that help others in need. My family was suffering at the loss of our dog, and this organization helped to make our family whole again. Simba is now being rehabilitated and is getting proper care. Thank you Linzi & Gina and all the other people who were involved in Simba's rescue that I was not even aware of!! We have gone through a handful of adoption processes with other rescues, but The Forgotten Dog Foundation has been the most pleasant process I have ever experienced. After adopting our dog through them, there is no other rescue I would rather go to. I so appreciate the thorough process they have come up with to find their dogs the right home. We adopted the most adorable female rescue from The Forgotten Dog 6 months ago. We spotted her (Elsa) and went through the process of adoption and could NOT wait to bring her home. The entire process was very easy. We even brought our 1 year old pup (Teddy) with us to spend some time with Elsa to make sure they got along. THEY DID! Linzi is THE BEST! The care she takes of her dogs and her dedication to finding them the best homes is second to none. Our beautiful doggie Tessa was rescued by Linzi from terrible conditions. She didn't even have fur! Linzi rehabilitated her for FIVE MONTHS before she could even tell what kind of dog she was. (Turns our she is a gorgeous Havanese/spaniel/poodle mix with the thickest most beautiful hair) then she further socialized her for several MORE months while figuring out what kind of home would be best suited for her. Linzi's assessment of what her doggies need is spot on. She's spent so much time around so many different kinds of dogs and has so much experience placing them in homes she really has an inbuilt sense of what they need. My advice to anyone is to really listen to Linzi's assessment. She REALLY knows! Our girl loves more than anything to run and run and run. She can literally do 10 laps at full speed around our large backyard without breaking her stride. You wouldn't have guessed when you first met Tessa. She was a such timid little girl. Linsey emphasized she was a dog that needed a space to run in. We were doubtful because our other dog who is the same size is quite lazy. Linzi said that Tessa would motivate our other dog to run around too. We were doubtful. But now both dogs are playing and running around! Our older dog has a new lease of life and we have a new snuggle baby. We can't thank Linzi enough for all the joy our new fur baby has brought to our lives and for all the work she did with her to rehab her AND all the other dogs she saves everyday. We feel so blessed to have discovered Linzi. If you get the opportunity to foster or adopt through her I highly recommend it! read more

I have never in my life met anyone more dedicated and passionate about saving animals than Linzi, and I'm a huge animal advocate. Over many many years my family of four and I have witnessed Linzi and her organization save countless of dogs throughout the years, giving poor dogs at the end of their rope a new chance, and when my family have witnessed all the amazing transformations of sick, dirty, old, young abandoned dogs into healthy happy dogs finding a new family it brings me and my family, my children, to tears of happiness. I wish there were so many more people on earth like Linzi.., she has a heart of true gold. Also the adoption process is exceptional. I have always felt how irresponsibly some people handle and give away pets like it was just a piece of furniture, but this organization makes a very thorough check really making sure it is a very good home for a sentient dog soul. They are highly professional and so trustworthy in every step of the way, when they receive, take care of and find new homes to their dogs. And Linzi loves every every single dog from her whole heart that comes her way. Every time we think of Linzi and her organization it makes us smile big with a warm heart. Our family adopted Rosie Dot many years ago from Linzi as a companion to my first pup that sadly died too early some years later due to a heart condition, and it caused us great heartache and grief, being very very sad for a long time. But Rosie Dot gave us the most fantastic life again, bringing back so much happiness, love, friendship and laughter again. I will be forever thankful to Linzi and The Forgotten Dog Foundation for our amazing Rosie Dot, the most charming dog in history! She was just about to be put down and looked like a skeleton when she got saved by Linzi! We're going on two years with our precious Mae Mae and we are beyond in love with her. It took us a really long time to get over the loss of our previous dog Minnie, but after years of talking about adopting we decided to start looking. When I came across Mae Mae I thought for sure she'd be already adopted, but we were so excited to find out she was still available. I had a phone chat with Linzi and then filled out an application. Soon after we went to meet up with Mae Mae and Linzi. We did a week trial, which I appreciated so much. I think it's a smart process!! We absolutely wanted to adopt Mae and were so excited to welcome her into our family. Working with Linzi was wonderful and we are still are in touch. I send her pictures of Mae Mae and she's been an incredible resource for us. She cares so deeply for the dogs she rescues and works really hard to make sure that the dogs are properly matched with the right owners and will be well taken care of. Recently I found a stray dog wandering outside the school I work at. She's was in terrible condition and it was a really heartbreaking scene. Not knowing what to do I called Linzi and without hesitation she connected me with her foundations vet and they took Louise in. Gina, who works for the foundation could tell I was super invested in Louise and gave me updates multiple times a day. She was super generous with her time and kept me posted on Louises care. Gina and Linzi worked so hard to get Louise all the care that she needed. Louise had many health issues and was a senior dog that had been severely mistreated. But they took such good care of her. They invited me to see her two weeks later and I couldn't believe how great she was doing. It was like seeing a new dog!!! They found her an incredible home and they still reach out to give me updates!!! We feel so lucky to have stumbled upon the Forgotten Dog Foundation and to have adopted Mae. She's changed our lives and we are so thankful they rescued this tiny little wonder!!! read more

Now that I'm home, I find myself having the time to do what I should have done many months ago. I want & need to give a huge THANK & GOD BLESS You to Linzi & Gina from this incredible dog rescue. I have adopted 3, yes 3 dogs from them. Linzi steps in and up to the challenge of rescuing so many dogs that otherwise wouldn't have a chance of an amazing family that loves them. She takes care of so many senior dogs that are badly in need of medical care, lots of chihuahuas and other small dogs & yes some larger ones. My first boy is from the streets of Tijuana where he was struggling to survive. After getting him and showing him what love is, he is my little clown. Always makes me laugh & oh so loving. A real snuggler. My next boy, an 1 1/2 yr old 8 lb chihuahua. He was very abused in his old yard where he was tied to a tree. Hit, kicked, & starved nearly to death. He has responded to the love & care & his bonded to his older brother & his mom & dad. Loves to be cuddled into us. My next girl, she was red listed at the shelter. A chihuahua mix. She was attacked by large dogs pretty chewed up..She was so petrified. Again, as always, Linzi stepped up and wouldn't let this precious baby be killed. After rehab, she is safe & so loved. She is the sweetest loving little girl. After speaking with Linzi & Gina, adopting these precious furbabies was a safe secure process. I had submitted a request for more information on a small adult dog. Linzi reached out to me right away and was nothing short of being totally professional, understanding and completely amazing. She truly cares for the well-being of these furry souls, which is why I felt so confident that I was adopting from a legitimate foster. There were timelines and rules before being able to adopt -- testimony as to how much she cares. I inquired about an adorable dog that was listed on numerous adoption sites, their own adoption sites, and that had been on their Instagram for almost a couple months. I was told the dog had no applications so far and was instructed to fill out an application and turn it in and the necessary steps would follow. I was also told that bc of the beginning COVID-19 adjustments, that the home inspection could be done on FaceTime. The other steps besides the home inspection were the meet/greet, one-week trial period, and $450 adoption fee. The next day I called to check up on the application I emailed them and was told this dog had numerous apps and they would go in the order they were received, HOWEVER, all adoptions were halted Bc if COVID-19, per their "Executive Director". The following day I saw she was removed from the website and when I inquired as to wether or not she was adopted, I was told yes she had in fact been adopted. I was sad and miffed because of the hopes I had been given and the false information that obviously turned out to be lies. I was at one point informed they had "strict policies and procedures" and there were "no exceptions whatsoever". I believe this is why I am most annoyed and disgusted with this foundation. I was told the dog had been adopted to someone they knew so no home visit was required, making them able to expedite the adoptions. Those are some kind of "strict policies"!! And some kind of steep adoption fees. My family and friends wanted me that these types of foundations exist...fake in many ways and ones that don't operate in the best interest of the pets, but in the best interest of their pockets and their own self-serving desires...hopefully they can now go adopt more desired pups and pose with them on red carpets now that they've decided to keep one or give it to someone they know. Possibly the fact that Gina was handling my inquiry was the reason I was treated completely unfairly and with disregard, let alone lied to? Linzi seems to have good interactions with adoptees... We adopted our precious girl Fifi from this organization in July 2020. They were very thorough in vetting us, while fully explaining that they take these steps to ensure the right fit for the dog. After a meet and greet at the rescue home, we were visited by Linzi to make sure our home was a safe place for Fifi. We went through a trial period with Fifi to make sure our other dog Bernie would get along with her, and to this day the two are inseparable.
