Just spent two weeks at Pet Paradise resort. I have used the resort in the past with other dogs and the care they received was very good.This visit the dogs shared a large suite with a private doggy door that allowed them to come in/go out at will. They played long and hard with each other, and also played with the other pups. I understand they had toys everywhere in their room and personal play yard to stay active. I have always appreciated that the facility is very clean and organized.They had nails and baths before being picked up this morning. Special kudos as this visit covered New Years Eve, and the staff reached out to me that morning to ask if there would be any concern about fireworks and if my pups would get nervous/would need calming medication. My dogs don't react to fireworks, so nothing was needed, but I was impressed that the staff reached out to check. Concern for my pets' welfare was genuine, and they were very responsive to my emails while traveling to update me on progress. This was the first "resort" stary for my newest rescue pup and I was concerned how he might react. No need to fear. Both pups give it 4 paws up as a great place to stay when their mom has to go out of town. Very grateful to Pet Paradise for playing and caring for my pups.

It's also a great opportunity to check out the facility. I had talked to Travis on the phone and met him when we came for our evaluation interview. Travis is a true dog whisperer! You can see that he truly loves dogs and knows how to handle them. Our rescue dog, Ollie is a border collie and loves to run. He's also an escape artist and after seeing the secure fencing felt that he would be totally safe at LSDR. At home Ollie wears the Whistle device on his collar. It tracks his location and activity distance. I asked if he could wear it during his stay there and they were so accommodating! They even charged up the device for us! We saw a couple of photos they posted of Ollie on Facebook. I could totally relax while we were out of town because I knew Ollie was having so much fun. Our Whistle App showed that he ran 4 miles his first day! I highly recommend Lone Star Dog Ranch!!

It's a tough call on this place. We board 2 dogs, they stay together and have pretty much the same…read moreexact routine however we are charged double for one. One dog is 20lbs and the other is 50lbs. We are not exactly sure why one would be more than the other. Also, they don't allow pickups on Sunday so we are forced to board our dogs another night which is really disappointing. Why not set up a small window for pick up on Sunday with a small charge and maybe limit the check outs? You are there taking care of the animals anyway so what's the big deal? We would gladly look past the double charge for our larger dog if you could make an adjustment in your availability. But really, what is the difference in price for anyway? It's not like there was grooming, food or any other service that would require 'more' of anything....

This is by far our favorite! The other dog resort that might come close is a similar concept outside Louisville, KY. Small high quality care not big business with volume discounts. There's a place for hug volume and big discount but I don't think my dog's care is that place. Castle Creek has limited people hours which helps to keep the focus on caring for our dogs. I'm so grateful for that focus! Yes, I would like to pick up on Sunday but we just plan our trips around the posted hours of business. We do NOT view it as a fault of the business. We actually respect the fact that they give their employees family time on Sunday. We ask the hours of operation so we know how to plan our trips and dog pick ups . Utah, Dez, Dayshia and the tech team in the back truly care! When we drop off our dog, who has separation anxiety, she cuddles into their arms peacefully. When we pick her up, she is happy to see us but not stressed at all from her stay. It's so amazing that we can leave her without concern of her separation anxiety messing up her intestinal track. She comes home healthy and regular! She is on a strict diet and they clearly carefully adhere to it! One last quick note: our little dog loves the people of Castle Creek, when she sees her overnight bag, she starts to do a dance and runs to the back door to get in the car! We have never left him alone EVER and figured he'd have separation anxiety ( I know I did) and with Ravin's help, we think he did just great! He wasn't that excited when we got home, and I took that as a great sign! I'm thrilled with Top Dog and we will for sure use them many times to come. Ravin spent the night here for two days, and there is absolutely no sign she was here at all. The bed was made, the house was spotless, and I don't even think she threw anything away in our trashcan! If you're skeptical about using them, don't be. It was a perfect experience for us and our dog
