It's a tough call on this place. We board 2 dogs, they stay together and have pretty much the same exact routine however we are charged double for one. One dog is 20lbs and the other is 50lbs. We are not exactly sure why one would be more than the other. Also, they don't allow pickups on Sunday so we are forced to board our dogs another night which is really disappointing. Why not set up a small window for pick up on Sunday with a small charge and maybe limit the check outs? You are there taking care of the animals anyway so what's the big deal? We would gladly look past the double charge for our larger dog if you could make an adjustment in your availability. But really, what is the difference in price for anyway? It's not like there was grooming, food or any other service that would require 'more' of anything.... read more

We HIGHLY recommend Castle Creek Pet Resort in McKinney, TX! We have lived in several states so we have experienced many dog resorts for our dogs through the years. This is by far our favorite! The other dog resort that might come close is a similar concept outside Louisville, KY. Small high quality care not big business with volume discounts. There's a place for hug volume and big discount but I don't think my dog's care is that place. Castle Creek has limited people hours which helps to keep the focus on caring for our dogs. I'm so grateful for that focus! Yes, I would like to pick up on Sunday but we just plan our trips around the posted hours of business. We do NOT view it as a fault of the business. We actually respect the fact that they give their employees family time on Sunday. We ask the hours of operation so we know how to plan our trips and dog pick ups . Utah, Dez, Dayshia and the tech team in the back truly care! When we drop off our dog, who has separation anxiety, she cuddles into their arms peacefully. When we pick her up, she is happy to see us but not stressed at all from her stay. It's so amazing that we can leave her without concern of her separation anxiety messing up her intestinal track. She comes home healthy and regular! She is on a strict diet and they clearly carefully adhere to it! One last quick note: our little dog loves the people of Castle Creek, when she sees her overnight bag, she starts to do a dance and runs to the back door to get in the car! I dropped my dog off today to get groomed. We've brought him there before without any issues. I dropped him off at 9am. We didn't get a call to pick him up until 4:20. The person that called told my wife that he was in a "suite" because one of our concerns was that he was in a kennel all day. I'm not even sure what the suite is so not sure of where he was all day. Then when my wife picked him up and asked if they fed him the guy said no. He said he thought he already ate. I find that to be a ridiculous statement considering the dog was in your care for 7 hours. This was unacceptable and we will not be returning to this business for anything. read more

I waited for a week to post this hoping Rick or Utah would bother to get in touch with us after we left messages. This place is so disorganized. We had been using them for two years and they've lost our day care reservation more than once even though we go the same day every other week! They don't have an online system for customers or send confirmation. You have to call and pray apparently. Forgivable but the final straw was them losing our thanksgiving week reservation we made with Rick months in advance. Not only did the girl who we talked to offer us no help or any remedy for their mistake, Utah or Rick didn't even have the courtesy to call us back to talk about it. After two years and no call back. Ridiculous. Thank goodness I found a better place after making 50 calls or I'd have had to cancel our vacation. They also don't provide updates or photos or have cameras anywhere. Who knows what happens here. I'd never use this place again and I've told everyone I know about our experience. read more

Castle Creek is a fantastic business! Ashley and Desiree are the BEST groomers in Texas. My baby, Ducky, has been going to them for almost two years and every time he looks stunning. You never have to go home and touch up or fix something. The grooms are perfect! They are also magicians with creative grooming. From Mohawks to Santa Claus these ladies are talented! Ducky loves his dye jobs and feels like a rocker when he gets his Mohawk. He was the cutest dog at the Texas Rangers game thanks To Castle Creek! I highly recommend them to anyone and everyone. They are funny, sweet, personable and KIND women that will take care of your baby. They rally for rescues, shelter pets and spoiled rotten pets! I travel almost two hours for them to groom my shih-tzu and it is WELL worth it! read more

Love this place they have taken care of my Schatzi since she was a puppy. Schatzi has grown up there and she loves it the interaction with the personnel has taught her a lot. Our sweet boy has been going to castle creek for about four years now. We won't take him anywhere else. Even though we moved about 40 minutes away this drive is totally worth it. The groomers, staff, and owners are always so friendly, caring, and willing to work with our crazy schedule. To the owner...yes I did have my dog boarded at your place over the 4th of July Holliday, it was under my parents name and we had 5 dogs in total at your place and my dogs name is major. Ashley, CCPR has the WORST customer service. They are very rude when you call to make an appointment. Don't bring your pets here, you will regret it. I am not sure what there is to be confused about.. my family is in your database so just because it's not directly under my name doesn't mean I wasn't a client of yours. I called in regarding an issue with y'all not having Saturday appointments anymore but it wasn't me who called and got "really angry" so you must be referring to some else. It's upsetting you don't take Saturday appointments anymore because we loved the worked you did on our dog. Plus, the past couple of times I have called who ever answers the phone always has an attitude and isn't friendly. We know a couple other client of yours that have said the same thing about the customer service they receive from you all as well. We take our dogs to Castle Creek Pet Resort for boarding as well as grooming. We are thrilled with both services. Their boarding facilities are wonderful, with a private patio area for my dogs to enjoy while in their room. Every time we come home from a trip and pick them up, they are happy and not the least bit anxious. Their groomer is wonderful. My dogs always look beautiful after their appointments. We were hesitant to leave our beloved dog at the Pet Resort at first, but not anymore! The staff were great reassuring us when we were away, that our dog Lucy, was doing great. (they took my "pesty" calls each day! When we picked her up, she was clean and her blankets, etc. were washed and clean, and she seemed happy (especially to get home as most pets are!) I love this place! I take my Newfoundland here, and was a little hesitant because at previous groomers my dog has come home stressed and exhausted. This time however I was so happy to see my boy happy and relaxed. This to me shows excellence in service. The second time I took him, they were already waiting for him, my newf was happy to see them, and didn't worry about going back. We have been taking our dogs here for the past few years. We have a large dog that gets anxious and has stomach issues when he is away. He also isn't around other large dogs often. He is our gentle giant. We have had a couple bad experiences at other boarding locations in McKinney. The staff at Castle Creek is so loving and takes great care of him so that he is comfortable. When we call, they know our dogs and we have never had an issue with them staying here. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! Do not board your dogs here! We board our dogs around 3-5 times a year and this was our second time here. First time was decent, but not during a holiday like this weekend (I think they are too busy and need more staff... or just better staff). First issue started when they wouldn't take half of the toys we brought for them, toys we brought the first time and had no issue with. Second issue happened when I called and ask for someone to take a picture of my dogs so I could make sure they were okay. I was told "we do not take pictures and send them to owners, we only post photos on our FB page, so check there and maybe you will see one if the techs have time" This really upset me, but I let it go. CUSTOMER TIP TO THE OWNER THOUGH: I paid over $500 for my dogs to stay with you. If I want a picture of my dog, take 3 minutes to send one to me. DO NOT tell me you only post them on social media for good publicity and do not post one without my consent. Anyway I moved on passed that like I said and the dogs stayed for the remainder of the time. During pickup around 8:30-9am it got SO MUCH WORSE!! No one seemed to even know my dogs names and when we walked out both dogs peed and pooped right on their front door steps. Obviously no one had taken them out to the bathroom which is unacceptable. Also, weirdly both of their paws and bellies were wet like they had just spayed them down with a water-hose or something? It was very weird and when I walked back inside to ask the tech when they last went out to the bathroom he couldn't even give me a stable answer. He stuttered, was not able to look at me and said " when we get in around 7:30-8am." I am calling BS on that. My dogs had not been out to the bathroom. Both of my dogs are very well trained and they could not even hold it. Ridiculous. To add to that I got home to unpack and NOT ONE treat I took to them had been used. I was also missing their blankets and beds, so I called up there and asked about them and then was told they were being washed and were in the dryer" ??? I'm sorry what? You didn't do that the first time and why would they be in the dryer unless they were dirty?? They also don't give your pet a bath unless your pay $25 dollars - no way in hell they are washing every dog bed out of the kindness of their heart. That also brings me back to my earlier statement that when I picked them up their paws and bellies were wet like someone has just spayed them off.....? My personal conclusion is that my dogs were left in an 8x8 kennel, rarely taken out, and were left in a disgusting box for 5 days. I will not be taking my dogs back and I suggest you stay far away. Enjoy my $500 Castle Creek, you will not be seeing me or my dogs ever again. read more

(Yes you do need to call to reserve) My best friend took her dogs to Castle Creek for both day care and grooming. Deb unfortunately got sick and in her final days Castle Creek came to our rescue with all the activity in the house we found it necessary to board Chloe and Henry. When we fortunately found a new forever home for the pups they asked all the right questions to be sure they were going to a safe and loving environment to suit their needs and personalities. Ashley and Utah asked us to tell their new mommy and daddy that if for any reason they were not able to handle having 3 dogs in their home to let them know. The people at Castle Creek are so sweet! They took great care of my anxious dog - they set her up with a sweet, compatible dog to play with while she wasn't being groomed. She was so much happier when I picked her up than she was at the previous groomer (in another state) that crated the dogs while they wait. Not having her crated all day was a huge plus. I have now boarded my 2 cockapoos at Castle Creek twice and used their grooming once (should have started earlier). I have nothing but great things to say about the staff, as they truly do care about each and every dog that walks into their doors. At pickup time, my dogs are excited but content as if they had really enjoyed their stay. I appreciate the staffs willingness to snap some photos of my pups during playtime and posting to FB, in which they are obviously having a blast interacting with the other guests. The only improvement would be to have a live feed link available. As for the grooming, well let's just leave it at meticulous perfection. Keep up the great work Castle Creek!!! read more

My dog goes to Castle Creek every day for daycare and she LOVES it! The entire staff is friendly and treats my dog like family. She runs into the lobby every day and you can tell she can't wait to play! I was able to tour the facility before I began daycare and the suites are large and comfortable with climate control and indoor/outdoor access. The play yards are large and well-secured with fencing and gate locks for the pets' security. And the setting is beautiful with the play yards looking out onto the owner's family's horse farm so the dogs can see horses through the fence while they're in the yard playing. I've had nothing but positive experiences during the several months my dog has been attending daycare here and I highly recommend it! read more

We stopped in to check out this facility and see about availability for our dogs. The receptionist handed us a flyer and told us the cost. Instead of talking to us about the facility or offering a tour (which other facilities have done), she just stared at us. We asked about availability, which she confirmed, and then told us about the times they are full (not the dates we inquired about). We just got our boys back after a long weekend and couldn't be happier. After the last experience with PetSmart where they came back smelling like they'd been left in their own waste Castle Creek sounded much more promising. They are exhausted from playing and seem to have had a great time! No exit bath needed, these guys obviously had more time out and about than at other boarding facilities.
