I can't speak highly enough of this frame shop. We brought in three pieces - a pair of photos and a large fabric piece. The lady who works here was so professional, consulting and advising on the best options. Our custom-size, matted photo frames turned out flawless. More amazing than that: She actually turned away our fabric piece, although I would have willingly paid a high enough price for the frame job. She gave us some great advice about how to display the piece more frugally and more attractively, losing hundreds of dollars of business for herself but saving us a lot of regret and expense. Wow! I reviewed the Frame-Up when Alli was the owner, and now I'm leaving a review for the new owner, Andy. Andy is super knowledgeable and friendly and we truly enjoy seeing what combinations he comes up with. We recently went in to frame two prints and he surprised us by suggesting a green frame that we weren't considering, but it ended up being our favorite. Special thanks to Ali and her creativity. We wanted to hang a stain glass piece that I made more than 25 years ago. Last December Alli helped me find a way to "frame" a pair of hand-painted men's Van's tennis shoes. She looked online until she found the solution, and she told me where to purchase it. She did this out of the goodness of her heart! This March I took three old framed photos to her. She cleaned up the backs, saving the original 100-year old stickers and was even able to cut an oval piece of glass for me, something that no one else in town seems able to do. The Frame-Up is hands down the best frame shop I have ever been to. I was back and forth at Aaron Brothers and Michaels for a piece of low cost art, but they didn't have the quality or selection in their frames, nor the artistic eye in their employees. Then I found the Frame-Up which is literally down the road from Michaels, and let me tell you I will not be going anywhere else from now on. Alli was fabulous, she spent a ton of time with me and my family to help decide on the perfect frame. She was patient and very knowledgeable because she does all the work herself. She is a true artisan. Custom framing is expensive at Michaels anyway, and especially when I was evaluating what I would get for the price. Alli's shop was not only competitive but gave me so much more satisfaction to know that I chose the perfect frame for my art. read more

Okay -- I went to Michael's just nearby because I only needed to get a basic board cut with three openings 5x7. I waited 25 minutes before before anyone could help me -- my they are slow!!! And they do not know what they are doing. I was told in two weeks they could cut this very standard mat board and it would cost me a whopping $54.00. Are you kidding me ?? I went half a block away to Frame-Up and was charged $14.88 and the mat board was cut in 5 minutes. Good heavens.... go no other place than this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I can't understand the recent negative review. I've been coming here for years, most recently last week for the re-framing of a treasured canvas lithograph. I took a couple of small postcard-size prints in to have framed, and met Alli Condra, the owner and framer-extraordinaire. Her selection of moldings is superb, hundreds of them and all good quality, in every conceivable shape, color and style. If you can't find something here, you won't find it anywhere. Alli is friendly, personable and takes the time to help you find just the right frame to suit your artwork. My two pictures came out perfectly. Her workmanship and attention to fine detail were excellent. I've worked in a frame shop myself and know good work when I see it and hers is the best.
