Woke the cat, and discovered a half-inch of water in our basement utility room. Knew this day was coming. Gerry is a life-saver. He answered his phone at 4:30 this morning! To my wife's credit, she was not screaming or panicking, but she did need help. And Gerard Waterman did not disappoint. We needed a new water heater, after nine years. The warranty was six, so we did quite well. Here is what Gerry did for us: 1. He answered the phone at 4:30am 2. He let us text him a picture of our unit, and gave us a fair quote on the right unit for us, which was a RUUD 40 gallon tall gas unit, with a 10 year warranty. 3. He showed up EARLIER than he said he would (9am vs. 10am), and finished EARLIER than he said he would (11am vs. noon). 4. He made sure we did not get water throughout our house, which is no easy task. 5. He even listened to our dishwasher (it was reacting to the issue downstairs, nothing to worry about) 6. He was also human with us. Shared horror and success stories, told us he has two cats, and is working at learning guitar. I did what I could to encourage him there. 7. Gerry took our credit card. When it's over $1,000, your credit card is your friend! In short, Gerry is a competent plumber, a great guy, and we highly recommend him for a plumbing problem. But please be nice to him, he is one of the good guys, he is not at fault for all the creeps that came before him!!! Grateful for Gerry, and to have hot water again, so soon, for less than it could have cost (we figure he saved us $250).

Since the furnace was less than 10 years old, I stopped payment on the check and called for a second opinion. Jerry came over that same afternoon, looked over the furnace, and determined it was only 1 part that needed replacing. He was polite, courteous, and patient while explaining things. What would have wrongfully cost my mother thousands, cost her $300. Fast forward to this week. I woke up to a blown hot water tank. I called him at 6:30 AM. He called me back at 6:45. My cats destroyed the fabric, and the chair moved to the basement, where it remained until we moved to a new house about a month ago. I almost threw the chair out, but couldn't bear the thought of parting with it. So I contacted Vinny at Miro Upholstery, and he couldn't have been nicer. I went to the store to pick out a fabric, and Vinny suggested that I take some fabric books home. He gave me several books, my husband and I went through them and selected one. Miro picked up the chair and the fabric books, and today, about a month later, the chair was delivered. It is more beautiful than I could have imagined. New foam, new fabric, they touched up the wood - it's an antique chair that looks brand new. I'm completely thrilled. This was an excellent experience, and I would highly recommend Miro Upholstery.

I came back and the attendant had removed my clothes from the washer, which made me feel kind of icky. The dryers didn't work very well and looked really old.
