What an unexpected and awesome experience.... at a vacuum place?!? Yep. I drove by this place often and today- I needed to bring in my vacuum for repairs. Mike was knowledgeable, honest, helpful and kind. He told me that it was going to be a tough part to fix, he suggested I call the company's customer service to see if they would send me out the part or a new vacuum. I was SO impressed that he wasn't just trying to sell his own products and help me out instead! I did ask about other vacuums that he had in stock- he has some of the best on the market by the way! Before I left, he offered me a great deal on a much better product than I had and one that would help tremendously with a recent allergy I had acquired. I left feeling so happy that I had walked in! Well- the other company was going to charge me a ridiculous amount to send the machine back AND Mike was right- the part is hard to find and you'd have to replace an entire section of the machine- so not worth the money to replace!!! Back to Mike I went- I got an incredible deal and he took my vacuum away- dog hair and all!! Mike even let me pretend vacuum his store with the kid vacuum they have :). One of the attachments to our vacuum was acting like it was possessed - turning off and on while we were using it. Since we know nothing about exorcism, we decided that the next best thing would be to find a local vacuum shop. Metrowest Vacuums had excellent reviews, and now we know why. Michael was in the middle of a sale when I walked in and I thought I was in a QVC commercial - Michael pulled out all the stops! He threw pet hair to show what the vacuum his customer was interested in could do and answered every question his customer had for him. Michael also had a great sense of humor and interacted with me and his other customer in a friendly, professional way. We will definitely be purchasing our next vacuum from Metrowest, but that wasn't necessary this time, since Michael was able to fix our vacuum!!! SHOP LOCAL PEOPLE! Without Metrowest, we would have had to purchase a new vacuum when only one little wire had been disconnected. Shopping local for us means less trash in our landfills and saving money - and obviously getting to interact with fantastic people like Michael. read more

We have three cats, who love their toys. I was rushing and too lazy to double check that I picked them all up. Yep. You guessed it. My vacuum sucked up one of their small spongy balls before I had time to turn it off. As a result, the ball got caught in the plastic hose, and I could not get it out. It made the suction very limited, so I definitely needed to get it fixed. I researched online, and it looked like I could get a new wand/hose for $85, but I didn't want to do that since the vacuum wasn't new/wasn't worth that investment. I recalled seeing this store on 9W, so I called. Michael was so nice. Said he would take a look and see if he could get it out. If he could, $29.99. If he couldn't $0. We went, he fixed it in about 5 minutes, and off we went. Best part - he did not charge me anything! So nice of him! Total lifesaver. Highly recommend. I have been a customer at Metro West Vacuum for many years. I especially love the Oreck vacuum cleaners. I have purchased two of them in the last four years: one for my mother and one for me. These machines are WONDERFUL with excellent cleaning power and extremely easy to use (my 93 year old mother loves hers too). Mike, the owner, is fantastic to work with and very knowledgeable about his products. They stand behind their product with excellent service too. I went to Metro West to service my Oreck vacuum that I bought on-line at Amazon. The motor "hummed". It was less than a year old, so it still had its warranty....so I thought. Michael greeted me and after a brief discussion, he explained to me that if was the motor it wouldn't be covered. That said, he volunteered to take a quick look at it and found that there was something stuck in the vacuum preventing the roller from spinning. He didn't charge me for the service and replaced the "star" screws on the bottom of the unit with the more universal philips head screws so I can disassemble in the future. I am totally satisfied as well as very impressed with the service I received from this company. I live on Cape Cod and called Oreck to have my mal-functioning vacuum serviced as it was still under warranty. I brought a Miele vacuum cleaner in for a minor repair--the cover was stuck and had partially gotten off track. It was 15 minutes before closing and I thought I'd probably have to leave the machine to get fixed. Instead, Elaine and Bill were very helpful and so courteous. Bill took the machine in back, fixed it on the spot and then checked all the filters and bags to make sure everything was working great. I was not charged at all for the repair and was out of the shop in ten minutes. I will definitely continue to go there for all my vacuum cleaner issues. read more

Brought my Dyson in for repair. Owner encouraged me to call Dyson from his store to check my warranty. Turns out it was still under warranty and the customer service rep. led me through some troubleshooting steps so that I was able to resolve my issue on own. Easy fix-so easy that the owner really could have charged me $60 to fix on spot and I wouldn't have been the wiser. Really the human thing to do-so appreciated. I will be back and will refer others who need a repair or new vacuum. read more

The apparent onset of dementia caused me to not understand how a Hoover vacuum beater brush could be turned on and off. I thought it was broken and came in assuming the worst. One quick click of a switch and all was right with the world. I offered to compensate the gentleman for his time but he refused. Walked me through all the options, features and benefits of the various vacuums, and things to consider (size of house, % of floor vs. carpet, types of carpets, # of people in household, types of pets etc.). I just bought my third Oreck. My first two I bought here. This one I ordered on line and after only using it once the next time it wouldn't stay running. I brought it in to Metrowest and the belt had come off. They fixed it for me right away and didn't charge me even though I didn't purchase it there. I didn't want to send it back.
