Smaller hotel in a central location!! The price is good for what you get! We had the Rococo Room which has a couch and sitting area. The bed was super comfy, Keurig in room, water bottles available, friendly desk staff greeting you every time you walk by with a smile! It's hard to complain when the breakfast is free (well.. included) but coffee situation was make your own in a coffee press. I like it but the breakfast attendant was hardly helpful. I enjoyed the yogurt and berries. They also offered bagels, sweet pastries and lox.. just limited amounts of everything and again, the attendant not very helpful/or just gone. I would go back for sure!

Since the city was playing host to the Cable-Tec Expo, finding a room in Philadelphia was near impossible for Tuesday night. My go-to for bargain basement deals on hotels, Priceline, had nothing for me. Same with the recommendations given me by yelpers in the know; every hotel was booked. Alas, I took a risk and booked two rooms, for myself and a colleague, at Rittenhouse 1715. On the morning of my one night stay, past the cancellation period, my colleague fell ill and could not make it to Philly. I rang up Rittenhouse 1715 and explained the situation to Audrey, who took my number and promised to call back once she spoke with the General Manager. When she did she let me know they'd been able to rent the room and I'd only be responsible for payment on the room I was staying in. Though they were well within their rights to charge me for it, they didn't. This endeared me to Rittenhouse 1715 right away and this was before I ever arrived. When I did make it to this 23 room boutique hotel, I was delighted. And not just because I saw a cake stand filled with appetizing looking sweet treats like mini brownies waiting for me in the lobby! The staff members welcomed me as though they were expressly waiting for me to arrive. They thought nothing of it when my credit card asked for a call in authorization and simply asked, "Have you been in many states, recently?" In fact, I had. Virginia, Florida, New York, Pennsylvania. . . I was given a tour of the grounds and my luggage was carried to my room where a full explanation of the climate management system and the operation of the television and cable was given - talk about attention to detail! I had a Yelp Elite event to attend so I missed the evening wine reception that took place at 5:30 but if it was anything like the continental breakfast this morning, I am sure it was well-appointed. The location couldn't be better; the hotel is right on Rittenhouse Square, but lies on a small, quaint side street. On the night I was there the hotel was fully booked and yet, I never heard a peep out of any of the other guests. I was grateful for this, and the quiet helped me bang out a few hours of work that needed doing. My room was spacious, with enough room to move around and a writing desk to work from. When I arrived back from the event, I noticed that my room had been turned down: chocolate on the pillow, a small bottle of water next to the bed, and the coverlet removed but all of my things placed back on the bed in exactly the way I'd left them. Case in point, the magazine I left open was still on the same page! Impressive! I have a suggestion for improvement: hotter water. The temperature in my shower was more than warm, but not hot. And this morning was one where I needed a little more steam. To that end, the shower also didn't drain as quickly as one might expect. My guess is this is easily remedied. The dedication to detail shown by the staff, combined with the sumptuous surroundings made my stay at Rittenhouse 1715 a truly five star experience. Highly recommended.

I'm a fan of B&B's, so when I saw Rittenhouse and read the reviews, I was immediately intrigued. The location is excellent as its walking distance to some of Philly's best restaurants, as well as other attractions the city had to offer. It's also one of the nicest neighborhoods in all of Philly. From this standpoint, it was great. The hotel itself, I must say. was just ok. Having stayed in many boutique/B&B type hotels, this one just wasn't up to par from my standpoint. The room was on the older side and so was the furniture. Wires from the television were hanging and stretching across the wall, giving the room a bit of a "thrown together" feel. The bed was just ok and the bathroom was fine as well. They have a wine and cheese happy hour that is nice and relaxing. It's in a back room in the lobby with cozy chairs and a nice setup. Frankly, this room was a more accurate reflection of what I was expecting from the actual hotel room. From a location standpoint, this is probably the best in the city. Room wise, I just wasn't impressed with this hotel.

My husband I stayed at this excellent boutique hotel and attended a wedding nearby. From the moment we walked in, I fell in love with the decor and warmth of the staff. Our room was a standard room with a king bed, beautifully decorated and quite comfortable. The bride and groom had a large suite and was just as pleased if not more than we were. Can't wait to go back and hopefully more than one night!

The room is spacious enough for two people and has a modern decor. The decor throughout the hotel, however, is like an ode to hip hop culture. If you know me, I love sneakers, hip hop and everything that is the culture! The decor speaks specifically to Philly icons -- Will Smith, Meek Mill, The Roots, Jilly from Philly (Jill Scott), etc. Whoever was the interior decorator did a great job with honoring those icons and the hip hop scene. The restaurant inside the hotel was great too. I don't have any complaints besides the steep valet prices. I will visit again.

To be fair, there was a pending snow storm over the weekend, so reservations were few, and it's 17 degrees outside. The first observations weren't good. The bedspread appeared not to have been washed, the sink leaked water and, worst of all, the room was cold. REALLY COLD, maybe 55 degrees. (I don't carry a thermometer.) We did advise the front desk of the issues, and they did attend to the bedding, but were unable to increase the temperature. (Note: We did ask other guests about this. Some said their room was "fine" temperature-wise, and others said their room was "hot.") The breakfast offered to all guests is basic: bagels, English muffins, hard-boiled eggs, juice, tea, and fresh fruit. Their coffee was delicious and an attendant was on top of the breakfast bar at all times. We thought the front desk and custodian did their best, considering the challenges. Nevertheless, the rooms weren't up to past standards. We're disappointed with our recent visit and hope standards improve.

There was construction happening next door so we were woken up 4-5 times by what sounded like a literal jackhammer around 3am. I get they cant help that but DAMN it was loud. the valet was so backed up since everyone checks out at the same time, and it took us 45 minutes to get our car. After venturing back down to the first floor the front desk person on duty (who bless him tried to be helpful) wasn't aware of what rooms were available that could accommodate us. He eventually put us in a suite on the 7th floor. Sounds like an upgrade right? Nope. After getting mom settled, and letting her shower, I realized there was only one bed. There was also a sofa bed. Greaaaaat. The sofa itself was filthy (see photos), and the mattress itself (see photos) was worse. I also tried to get a cup to get water to give to my mom to take her medicines and the cup (see photos, admittedly hard to see) looked like it had water staining on it. We attended a wedding of a family member here and when I say everything was almost as if it were out of a film or a storybook, I wouldn't be far-off. The room where the ceremony was held was decorated beautifully in a crème colored white with these huge pearls hanging from the ceiling. The drinks were unbelievable and the highlight for me were free flowing French 75's. Made expertly with premium gin, in my case I asked for Sipsmith VJOP which I was blown away by them actually having. But above all what was incredibly impressive was the cocktail and hors de oeuvres hour, which was more like three hours was out-of-control good. With shellfish galore, meats and cheeses, a noodle station, a hand roll sushi station, and people walking around with small bites to try, I had never, at all the many events I have attended over the years, experienced anything quite like it. When dinner arrived, I actually couldn't believe there was still a formal dinner after everything we had already been privy to. Dinner was served extremely late, but I believe that was the choice of the couple and not the venue, and that food was just as outstanding as everything else we tried while there. Check-in was meh, the person at the front desk basically just handed me a key, a piece of paper, and told me to use the two elevators to the right. Inside the hotel keycard holder was also a free drink up in Pergola (19th floor?) which Pergola is not good at all, you can read that review separately. The room I was in was actually quite nice, it was clean, spacious, the a/c was weird and kept going on and off but the room was kept cool. No real complaints about the room. Parking is insanely expensive, you can go literally 2 blocks away in any direction and find parking for less money, AND if you have a large SUV or truck, it wont fit in their garage anyway. Price point to value seems off for this place. Also, one of the elevators went out in the main lobby for the higher floors, and it was excruciatingly slow to get up and down. What's amusing is my friend stayed two weeks earlier and the SAME elevator went out of service. So clearly this is a problem that needs fixing. There aer other elevator banks, but good luck finding them pending where your room is, and the front desk wont tell you. I hate to admit i'd stay here again, only because of a hotel credit I get with a credit card, that fitness center makes it worthwhile. If access to the fitness center goes away as a guest, I would stay elsewhere.
