Stopped by Frederick Coffee Company & Cafe located in the heart of downtown Frederick and the hospitality from the staff was truly unmatched. Everyone was welcoming and the atmosphere made the place feel very comfortable right away. The highlight for me was their red pepper soup, which was honestly one of the best soups I've ever had. Coming all the way from Riverside, I can confidently say this is a must stop if you're visiting Frederick. I also tried their spiced chai and it was excellent. The coffee itself wasn't exactly my personal preference, but I noticed plenty of people ordering it, so it's clearly a popular choice. Overall, if you're in downtown Frederick and want great hospitality and an amazing bowl of soup, this place is definitely worth the visit. read more

My dirty hippie latte was beyond delicious! It was live at first sip. Not overly chai spiced and not under espresso-ed. I don't think I've ever had a better dirty chai. That said, my husband said his espresso macchiato was just ok, but he said he'd go back. If we do ever go back, we would definitely order ahead. Very nice corner coffee shop in the downtown area! The staff were great! Normally I only drink regular coffee, nothing special. When I told to staff that it became a science project to make me something special. I end up getting a dirty chi tea latte which was really good. My new favorite drink! Love this place. As with any coffee shop, there are baristas who make a better latte than others but they're pretty spot on. Came here on this beautiful Sunday morning after taking a walk. There is always a line here, but oh is it so worth the wait!! I got the iced dirty hippie latte, perfect for my dirty chai lovers! It was only about $4.50, which is not bad for current coffee prices nowadays. I was too excited, and was already halfway through by the time I took a photo. I've lived in Frederick for a few years and it took my sister coming into town from Texas to try this place that I had never heard of. The best thing they have to offer is their coffee and drinks. They're very good and consistent. I am not a fan of their baked goods or breakfast sandwiches. The breakfast sandwiches are served in warm bagels (not toasted) and the bacon seems like pre-cooked bacon a the egg is also ore-cooked and steamed. Very disappointed not getting fresh eggs and bacon. Would not recommend their breakfast sandwiches when there are far better options in the area. The baked goods were okay, but there are better options locally. read more

A great place for a quick and convenient breakfast. I preordered the egg, ham, and cheese ciabatta sandwich and the drunken monkey latte online and it was ready by the time I reached the cafe. I don't drink much coffee, but the latte was very good. The breakfast sandwich was just OK. Again, it was conveniently open at 6am and only a 5-minute walk. Came on a Sunday at 9:30am - it was busy but not overly packed and service was quick and efficient. I got the crème brûlée latte with oat milk and it was delicious. Definitely on the sweet side. We also got the cherry and cheese danish (omg, sooo good) and cinnamon bun, also delicious. Definitely recommend having them warmed up. Seating options are great, lots of room inside and different areas of the outside patio. They also have dog cookies at the counter for sale. The decor and vibes here are nice. The mixture of the soothing music with the plants, paintings and overall construction of this place makes it a nice spot to just hangout in. I love patronizing small businesses in my area. It's even better when the food and drinks tastes as good as some of the larger chain places if not better. I have ordered a few different food options and I will say my favorite has got to be the coconut custard danish. Service is always really nice and they move very quickly even on busy days. We had a couple very good coffees and a nice breakfast wrap this morning. It's a place that seems to have a lot of locals, people come in and already know half the people sitting there. There were a couple of adorable black labs in the parking lot sitting in the open trunk of their car, not getting out because well trained, but providing lovings to anyone who walked by. I liked the almond joy coffee, would definitely order it again. Hubby liked his white chocolate blackberry special latte (I didn't try it). Our wrap was pretty decent, I think the herbs on the tortilla were really interesting. I'd prefer cooked onions to raw though. Prices were very reasonable. They have a decent number of tables and lots of patio seating but not really any "comfy" seating which is main reason for 4 vs. 5 star. read more

Need a quick coffee or bite to eat? This place is it! They always have a bunch of employees working. Food can take 10ish minutes but coffee is always fresh brewed and poured within seconds of ordering. I enjoy the rotating roasts! They have basic roasts as well as a specialty one every day. Parking was a bit difficult, but I was lucky to grab a spot, as someone was leaving. They have indoor and outdoor seating options, which is perfect when the weather is nice. I walked in and noticed the bathroom signs, which read "whatever, just wash your hands" lol...love it! The cafe itself was clean and had the perfect cafe ambiance. They had plenty of options from breakfast sandwiches, to pastries. They were busy, but patient with me as I decided what I wanted. I wanted something simple, so I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel along with a cup of the brewed Peruvian coffee. It was not an easy task finding a Frederick cafe open on Monday. Downtown was kind of a ghost town. But this place was bustling. It's definitely a different vibe than the cities I drove up from; for one thing, I can't imagine the deaf customer in front of me would have received nearly as much patience from a more downtown crowd. Once I did order, my salad and chai popped up pretty quickly. It was a bigger salad than I was expecting; posted notes apologize for their having to increase prices but the portion sizes are quite large. The salad was diverse in contents, and very filling with all the almonds and parmesan, but also contained a lot of actual kale (unlike the last kale salad I ate). My chai was a pretty basic flavor, though again it was quite large. For me, it's four stars for the fare itself, which was good but not amazing, but the fifth is for getting everything else right. This used to be our favorite, sentimental place. Every time we come here, which has been less and less often, we're reminded why we don't come anymore, and why we stopped tipping. The service stinks. The girls ALWAYS have a bad attitude and seem annoyed. This time, we were approached and told 3 times between 5:30 and 6 that they were closing. I've been in the service industry for over 10 years and have never seen any business boot out their customers that are finishing up their paid product on the DOT of closing. Thats when you stop taking orders or close the doors. Trying to finish our food and leave promptly while being glared down when we know damn well you're still cleaning the kitchen. had to pack up half a paper cup of soup to go because I didn't want to be harassed anymore. Really cute coffee shop! Was in Frederick for the Run Festival with some coworkers. 7:30am we were hungry and in desperate need of caffeine. Drove downtown, and saw the outside of the coffee shop, fun and cool! Made us stop immediately. My Chai Tea Latte was absorbed delicious! It's probably the best I've ever had. My coworker had the Hippy Dippy. Think Dirty Chai but much more yummy than the normal. I had a sip or two. Oh, so good! Our bagels were just as good. I came in an hour before they closed and the chairs were already up on the tables with the staff actively cleaning. I felt kinda bad for coming in but we were sweating from a hot day and needed drinks. But, soon after, 3 more people came in after me. AC was pumping, which I appreciated. I picked up a grape soda (from Pop Shop) for my hubby and a ninja turtle latte with oat milk for me. You could choose single, double, or triple shot and the prices were super cheap! I got a single shot ($3.99). The ninja turtle latte is with hazelnut, caramel & chocolate--but it was straight Nutella and was a little gritty since it was dropped into an iced latte. The flavor was pretty good, but I didn't really taste any coffee. I would come here again because the coffee agreed with me and not a lot of local placed have coffee that agree with my stomach. Maybe I'll get a double next time. Hubby deemed his grape soda "too sweet" (aka like a Jolly Rancher), but it was a pre-done bottle so it wasn't their fault. I forgot to take photos because I was hungry! My car is in the shop, early morning appointment so I was looking for places open on a Monday and this was the number one that popped up. I got a breakfast sandwich: sausage egg and cheddar cheese on an Asiago bagel. The bagel was toasted and a little tough to chew, but the egg and sausage were good. Not too greasy. I got the almond joy iced latte. It was delicious! Reminds me of the coffee shops in MA that I miss so much. I got here right before 8 and it wasn't busy but it is bumping now and almost every table is taken. They do have a nice patio area if it weren't so cold right now. I love that they opened out an outside patio. They have a fair amount of parking. The service is alright but they have a ton of customers. When I go there is usually a line to the back of the store! Came here on a coffee date Pro's -Lots of staff working so service was quick -Got a black coffee. Smooth and pipping hot! The little detail of the sticker covering the opening and winter sleeve made it special. -Smoked salmon wrap was OK. The salmon was fresh and I wish they used a smaller wrap size because that's all I ate. There was no balance between the inside and the wrap.. if that makes sense. -Husband's coffee order got mixed up but they gave him complimentary coffee to make up for it. -Lots of choices for drinks including hot cider and different types of hot chocolates. -Offers a small menu of breakfast sandwiches, bagels, wraps, soups, and salads. Con's -Parking lot is rather small since the other half of the lot is made for outdoor seating. Street parking is available but could take some time to find a spot. -Could use some standing heaters for outdoor seating since indoor seating is limited to 90 minutes and there are not a lot of tables. -Wish they had more comfy seats like an armchair or sofa but I guess since the 90 minute time limit inside they don't want you to get too comfy lol -Bathroom was a bit gross.. the floor was wet. No changing table in this one but I did see there was another room with a changing table somewhere else? Would visit again but may try something else on the menu to eat. read more
