Three of us went on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch. We were literally the only ones there at 1:30 in the afternoon, past the lunch rush. Parking was easy, as it's in a shopping center. The decor was very cool, nice design. It's an "order at the counter" place, no hostess or waitresses. I ordered the Cowabunga, which was a huge 8" sub. It was good, filling. My friends got the onion bits and hush puppies, which we shared. We all thought the food was good, the service was a little slow, especially considering we were the only customers. We needed boxes to go, and it took a bit of effort to get someone to come to the counter. I'd love to try it again when there is a crowd. The price seemed high for a lunch, I think it was roughly $20-25 per person with our beverages. read more

Popped by on a visit to Frederick. Very expansive sandwich menu. We ordered the bahn mi, fried green tomatoes, and the Godfather. While I wouldn't call it an authentic bahn mi, it was absolutely delicious. The pork was tender and the pickled onions added a sweet crunch. My partner said the godfather was a little dry and would recommend getting a little more sauce on it, but he would absolutely order it again. The fried green tomatoes were crunchy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. Definitely would come back. The service was friendly and the interior is clean and beachy chic. read more

I have been to 7th Street multiple times and it is one of my favorite lunch places! I work nearby and I order in advance. The customer service is great - everyone is friendly and accommodating to large orders or sandwich modifications. The location is small and gives a beach-style atmosphere. I think if it was located on the corner, there would be more outdoor seating. The food is always delicious! The crabby fries are the perfect combination of cheese, crab meat, and Old Bay. We went here to eat about four years ago, and the food was great. This time, at lunch, not so much (and they weren't even very busy). I got the Flip Flop and thought it was good until I got almost to the end of the second half and thought (and found) I had eaten paper. When I opened the sandwich to check it, there was two partial pieces of paper inside the sandwich (paper that looked like patty paper you freeze burgers in). After we were done, I took the plastic basket to the person behind the counter, showed him the papers that I had found in the sandwich, and let him know that whoever was making sandwiches may want to assure they remove all paper prior to serving the sandwich. He basically put his hand across his mouth, like he was surprised and didn't say anything. After that being all he did, I said, I won't be back here again and walked out. He didn't offer anything for the mistake, not even an apology! I stand by my words--I won't go there again to eat!! read more

Great sandwich place! I heard from a colleague about this really good cafe near Frederick Health. Tried it a few weeks ago and it was a pleasant relief from the hospital food we had recently! Tried it again today and the sandwich wasn't as good as we remembered. Called up the cafe and explained the issue to the staff and they were very quick and accommodating and went out of their way to resolve the situation. It pains me to say this because their salads are good...except for one thing. Twice now I've received a salad with hair in it. The first time I noticed it within the first couple of bites. The second time was when I had finished most of it and it was lying there at the bottom of my to go container. Not my hair because it was a different color and texture. This place is another feel. When you walk in it is small but has plenty of inside and some outside sitting. I live nearby and eat here regularly. If you don't know about this place, it would be easy to pass by, but it's definitely worth the stop. The food is always on point. They have creative sandwiches and fresh ingredients. I love their toasted fresh made bread on the sandwich's and they always give a tiny fresh baked cookie with their sandwiches, which is always a nice treat. My sandwich had extremely fresh ingredients like crisp sprouts and a tomato that didn't make the sandwich soggy. The sandwich started coming apart as I ate it because it was so generously loaded with toppings. I feel like a great bang for your buck. The carne asada fries are as the description reads, a Philly cheese steak on fries; they were really great and HUGE. my only complaint is the bread for the sandwich was a bit over toasted and cut up my mouth. A beach cafe crossed with a city deli, affordable and delicious food. Highly recommend any of their club sandwiches or long boards (what they call a sub).
