Excellent place to grab a burger, gyro, shake and ice cream if you are in Fort Benton during the summer only.

We stopped into this…read morespot in Loma, MT completely by chance while visiting the nearby American Prairie preserve, and we were delighted by the whole experience. The atmosphere is pure, authentic Montana--warm, welcoming, and full of local character. For a restaurant in this outback town, Ma's Loma Cafe is punching above its weight. The people were friendly, the coffee fresh and endless, the waiter attentive, and the atmosphere fun and very Montana. As for the food, it was much better than your usual small-town diner fare. The burgers were juicy and cooked perfectly, and the BLTs were loaded and delicious, homemade potato salad like grandma's. The real surprise, though, was their variety of Mexican food. They make all of their own, including salsas on-site, and you can really taste the Mexican flare. If you are traveling through Loma or exploring the American Prairie, do yourself a favor and pull over at Ma's Loma Cafe. Great food, wonderful people, and an inviting local feel.

Someone had recommended this place a couple of months ago that used to live in the area. Their iced tea and ranch were both homemade and they were awesome. I had breakfast there, and it was done to order. Staff were friendly and helpful and lots of things to look at in that place for fun. Also took a gander at the local newspaper, which is always interesting as you traveling through areas.

Unfortunately, the customer service was a mixed experience this time. The person who took our order was very friendly, smiled, and made us feel welcome. The others, however, didn't seem nearly as friendly. They appeared serious and somewhat disorganized. While we were looking at the pastries, we were told that drink orders needed to be placed at a different register on the other side, which was perfectly fine. We placed our drink order there and then moved back to the pastry counter to order our pastries. That's when the process seemed to slow down. It took a while to get everything ordered, and the flow of service felt confusing and unorganized. They also forgot to put the herb biscuit in the bag until it was pointed out. We later realized it hadn't been warmed up either. If I had been taking it somewhere without access to a microwave, I would have been extremely disappointed. On a cold day, a cold bacon and egg biscuit just doesn't work for me. I'd like to think it was simply an off day for a couple of the employees because the person who took our order was genuinely pleasant, and that kind of friendliness makes a big difference. As for the food, it was very good. The almond-filled scone was delicious, the macarons were excellent, and the herb egg and bacon biscuit was great once it was warmed up.

Nice convo with the barista who let us know they make their own bakery items before they open I had a large mocha with cinnamon ombré and will probably get an extra espresso shot next time just because I like mine really strong. We decided to stay to eat our snacks and drink our coffee as we liked the cozy atmosphere and vibe.
