Let me tell you. I got a hair cut today that was one of the best that i have had in a long time. I can't remember the stylist name but what a great cut. I think that she is new there. Lovely, friendly salon and spa. A bit off the beaten path, but well worth the find .They even have their own adjoining cafe featuring coffee drinks, smoothies, etc. putting a fun and unique twist on your salon/spa service. I've been here a few times now, each time considering becoming a regular. But each time I leave so unimpressed that I can't bring myself to schedule another visit right away. Again, I leave with the same disappointment. After a disaster put us out of our house from April 8, 2015 to May 10, 2015, we had to live in a hotel room for the entire month. While sleeping on the worst bed ever for a month we were also working ourselves repairing sub flooring, replacing hardwood floors, re-painting the entire interior, and putting up new trim. We were also reporting to our full time jobs every day of the week. We lost a family member and took only one day off for a funeral. To say I was in bad shape is an understatement. I had a kink in my neck that did not even completely heal when my pain management physician released it with acupuncture and instead kinked worse. I had spent 3 days leading up to the massage crying in pain. My husband is actually the one to tell me I had to go for a massage. I chose the French Door over Massage Envy because I knew TFD had a hot tub that relaxed you before your massage. So on Thursday, he scheduled a more expensive appointment with TFD than ME would cost. At 6 PM on Friday night, I got a call from TFD that their hot tub had blown something and was out of order. Too late to call and schedule with someone else. The last 2 times I have been here, the hot tub has been freezing cold and he actually confirmed upon scheduling that it was working fine. My appointment was from 1015 to 1045. I walked in at 1018, perfectly ok losing 3 minutes. I called my husband as I was preparing to lay on the table to tell him not to call or text. The call time stamp was 1021 and lasted 37 seconds. The therapist came in right away. She proceeded to tell me since it was 1030 she could not run over. When she finished, my lower back was more tense than when I arrived, while my neck and shoulders were hardly improved. I got dressed and looked at my phone and it was only 1040! So not only did she start on me at about 1024 and short me 6 minutes on the beginning but she also stopped 5 minutes early! I acknowledge that I was just a couple minutes late and I was ok losing that time, but to also be shorted by the therapist was rediculous. And still had to pay for a 30 minute session even though j technically only got 19 minutes INCLUDING the few minutes I was late. Definitely think I'll be going to the Florence marriott spa or the spa at Westin in Bridge Street (Huntsville) from now on. So sad that I have to drive all that distance to get a good massage. Even sadder that instead of leaving the massage I did have relaxed and happy, I'm leaving stressed, upset, teary, and feeling guilty of spending $45 to feel that way... Definitely done with the French door and will be sharing how ripped off I feel... If I could give no stars, I would... I really needed a good massage but instead I feel that I got ripped off. read more
