My family and I enjoy shopping here from time to time. We've found the prepared foods here to be well-crafted, albeit pricey. This is a great source for party and celebration eats, especially when we watch movie/entertainment award shows on the tv. Their coupon program could stand to be enhanced. I think that over the course of the past year, we've only saved $2.00 that way. But I'm happy to have an alternative to Kroger. We like coming here on a very occasional basis. I enjoy the ambiance. It's bright and clean and they generally have enjoyable music playing. It's relaxing. They have lots of fun stuff...it's dangerous, really. I never stick to my shopping list when I come here. Another awful experience. Bought their house brand of shredded cheese. Next day went to eat some, and it was dry and crunchy. Package said "best if used by 28 Nov 2025." Yikes! I live 40 mins away so I called the store. No answer and no voice mail. Drove into town. I explained I didn't have the receipt but could show my credit card charge, time stamp, and their computers could find it internally. She said I didn't need it. Swiped my credit card for the refund. Then a manager came over to help. Next thing I know he handed me a gift card with the value. No refund. No apology. I said to the manager they should check the other products out, in case other bags were old. He seemed to imply I bought the cheese last year and was trying to rip them off. It was $3.74. I stopped by the market for peanut butter and the old guy in front of me was having real issues just walking. He was probably in late 80s with a cane and real health issues. The counter lady closed her lane and started helping the guy. I checked out and helped as well. it took us about 15 minutes to get him to his car which was right in the front. by this time other store employees were helping. his wife was in the car in the passenger seat and the store employees knew her and said she had dementia. She refused to let anyone drive but said she would drive so the guy got in the passenger seat. the store employees pleaded with the lady to let one of them drive them home but she refused. At this time I asked a young man who was a store employee if he would ride with me and we could follow them home and help them get inside. He asked his supervisor and everyone was eager to help and all agreed. we then followed them home and helped the man get into the house and the lady was safe. bottom line the customer care these employees showed was amazing especially the young man that jumped in with me. I really wanted to like this place. They do have items that you can't find at other grocery stores, but the prices here are much higher than average - probably between $1 to $4 more. If you are grabbing one item that you can't find elsewhere then fine, but I definitely wouldn't shop here for anything I can get in Costco, Walmart, or Kroger (which is also overpriced). I came here because I wanted apples - the ones in the other stores are hit or miss. Even Costco has not been selling good apples. I prefer the good Honeycrisp or ones that are sweet/crispy. Being a fresh market, I figured this store would definitely have high quality apples - WRONG! For most of them, the skin was rough/dried out (probably from incorrect storage), or bruised, or overripe/soft. After spending 10 minutes standing at the apple station, I picked out 3 of the best looking ones and bought them for a mini fortune (lol). When I got home and ate one, it was terrible! It had, ike, a real bitter and nasty aftertaste. I pitched that apple and the rest into the garbage - money wasted. read more

With the chicken salad trend being so hot this past summer I have been trying out all Memohis has to offer and I have made a firm decision. Germantown Fresh market has the very best basic recipe. The simplicity of the recipe and the finely shredded texture makes it perfection. Couple the taste with the offering of 4 free croissants with a pound purchase makes tor a big win win situation. I cant emphasize how delicious those is with a freshly warmed croissant and a couple of pieces of their butter head lettuce. The customer service at this store is awful. It's like all the employees are trained to be as unfriendly as possible to anyone that's not a regular. So clear they are trained to only take care of the regular customers, otherwise you can just wait or tend to yourself. Never again! read more

Use to love this place...use to! The service and product, food have all gone downhill! Case in point: bought mussels from seafood counter. The kid gave me a bag that was several days beyond sell date and we're very smelly and a bunch were dead.! Then a few days later went in for "little big meals" at around 4p shelves were empty! A sign clearly states ALL customers must wear mask to enter the store and shop. I wear a mask but in all of the times I've been there, there were plenty of customers without masks. Way overpriced. I remember when I thought Kroger was overpriced... Fresh Market makes Kroger look like an Aldi when it comes to prices. Hahaha We get lots of $20 meal deals, Valentines Day meals, and this year we did a preordered Thanksgiving Meal. Always enjoy shopping here but dang the prices keep getting higher and higher, whew! It is always a pleasure to shop at FRESH MARKET. The meat selection is of superior quality, but some selections are a little more expensive than the neighborhood store. But, you cannot beat the quality. The meat department is happy to cut your selections to fit your needs - try their bacon, it's great!  It is also fun to shop at at Fresh Market as they have many unique product offerings that other stores do not have. Their offering of prepared foods are very attractive, as is the fresh produce and bakery departments. Both conventional and organic produce are offered and in season locally grown. Save room for side dishes made fresh daily right there at the deli counter. They have soups, pizzas, roasted veggies, rotisserie meats, BBQ, and lots of unusual salads.  really must browse the bakery section. Simply follow the decadent aromas coming from the back corner of the store to find glass counters full of cheesecakes, éclairés, gourmet cookies, petit fors, pies and cakes, loaf cakes that are delicious, or try their bagels, rolls or muffins. I highly recommend all their offerings. I even spotted a half off little Christmas tree that was barely 3' tall for the Charlie Browns out there. read more

Great place to get some fresh steaks and sea food. They have some great prepared meals like wraps, sushi, and my favorite I had the other day.. macaroni with chicken. All are fairly large meals and reasonably priced. There's a great selection of beer if that's your thing. If not there's also wine . Over the years I've found this to be the best place to get cut flowers for the wife. Unlike many other places they don't jack the prices of flowers up around Valentine's Day. I recommend this place also due to the fact the lines make it easy to get some essentials and get out quickly. read more

I went two days in a row and they just kept promising me the next day they would make more. You can't call and ask because no One answers the phone. I asked to speak to The manager. This place is great. I'll admit it though, I cannot afford to come here very often, as it's pretty pricy. But it's a great place to come for those things I just can't find anywhere else. They carry things like European style butter, which hardly anyone else does, or a certain brand of water I like. Stuff like that. Of course, It should always be that I just come in for those two things when I'm here, but it's never that simple. I always end up walking around looking at everything, picking up things at the bakery that I know are bad for me but look absolutely delicious. I might stop by the deli and pick up a sandwich or something else I can use to turn into a quick meal. The ambiance in here is so great. It's not the biggest grocery store, but it's definitely still the kind one can linger in, because there's always things to look at, and the atmosphere is so...low-key I guess. The kind of rushed, crazed women rushing in to grab things they needed three days ago (no judging, we all have shopping trips like that) don't seem to come here. It makes it the perfect kind of place to just casually stroll through each aisle, stopping to linger at everything and looking to see what things are. Fresh Market is totally one of those grocery stores that makes me feel like I'm eating healthy- even if I'm piling boxes of fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, muffins and cheese laden prepackaged dinner items into my cart. Is it just me or are the fruits and vegetables prettier here? I mean really! The oranges are brighter, the green beans more green, the apples smell like fantastic deliciousness. I have to agree with Kimberly A on this one- the ambiance here is just so damn inviting. Too damn inviting. I could spend an entire paycheck in here and then some. Yes it is pricey, but Fresh Market has a great selection of produce, meats, fish and the like. I think of them as Whole Foods second cousin. It isn't as big, and for me it isn't as fun as shopping at Whole Foods- but it still beats the heck outta Kroger and the rest of the super market options we have here in the Memphis area. Let's put it this way, I never come here to do my entire grocery list shopping. I only buy random little odds and ends. Some produce here, maybe a bit of fish for dinner there. And I can never make it out without stocking up on some sort of bakery item. Amazing. Just amazing. As an added bonus for Erica B- they have this throw back vintage candy area near the check out line. I like the feeling of coming here. The staff who have been working here recognize you and they do make a difference by trying to make your shopping experience more personal and enjoyable. Seafood isn't bad (though I can't say it's the best I've seen... selection is also rather small). The meat section is good though for some reason, their ground pork isn't as good as Shnucks'. You can find fancy condiments here that you can't at regular grocery stores. Fancy canned sardines, Bella Cucina Pesto, Scharffen Berger Chocolate etc... nice selection of cheese and a small counter for pastries and desserts. Oh, they also have fresh made sushi - and it looks better then the ones I see at other local groceries. I think the cleanliness of the store and general work area (that meets the eye) counts as an extra big fat star for me too. Here a major best-kept secret. This Fresh Market has the absolute best sushi hands down. I'm up to eating here about 2 times a week. I never used to buy prepacked sushi from a store, but this place is an exception. Service. Service. Service. I find that many of the employees move at the speed of a snail. The cashiers and the deli employees can be particularly slow. Today, while waiting in line to check out, I observed a very long delay in the next line, due to some problem. A manager finally wandered over to "help." She moved slower than a snail and had a look of "I don't want to do this and I don't want to be here." For the premium prices being charged, I can't understand why better employees aren't being hired. Trader Joe's in Germantown which operates on much thinner margins, manages to hire knowledgeable, personable, and helpful employees. Same goes for Costco. I rarely shop at Fresh Market anymore. Kudos to Fresh Market in Germantown TN for requiring face masks for employees AND customers during the COVID ordeal. I respect the decision to include customers in the rule for the benefit of the employees and the community. It makes me appreciate that they probably follow other preventive guidelines too. Some other grocery stores do not require customer masks and do not enforce it for their employees. Because there are many inconsiderate people who refuse to wear masks at the strong suggestion of medical experts, the requirement is the only way to make it happen. Some people argue that a mask only protects other people - which is reason enough to wear one for me. Actually a mask protects the wearer too. Even if not an N-95 mask, if there are viral droplets in the air, wouldn't you rather have some type of barrier vs none? Thank you, Fresh Market. read more

I ordered a sandwich with hot pulled pork, cheese, slaw, and cranberry sauce, all on an onion roll bun. I often visit this location. Today I was disappointed. Visited the restroom and found it messy and dirty. One of the toilets wouldn't flush. An employee was in the bathroom. I mentioned it her as I was moving to the other stall. Either she is hard of hearing or she elected to ignore me. No toilet paper on dispenser. A roll was on the back of the toilet. Overall appearance was unacceptable. For the clientele they cater to and their prices, I certainly expect more. Wondering if Trader Joe's would be worth the extra drive. read more

I really love Fresh Market...the store is so inviting. The smell and the abeyance is just great. I do think some of their items are over priced but considering you can't find them anywhere else they can charge what they like...maybe Whole Foods but I live in Collierville so that is not convenient. I think it is well worth the extra cost for the shopping experience and the fact there is always good quality fresh produce, seafood and meats. Their deli and bakery are the best in our area too! While this market is small the quality of the food is great! Produce, deli, meat and the bakery all sell first class quality. Because of it's small size it can get crowded especially on a Sunday afternoon. The desserts form the bakery are delicious. Staff is friendly and very helpful. read more

The Fresh Market has it's good points and bad points. They are more expensive than the bigger chain grocery stores like Kroger but they have items that Kroger doesn't have. I think their fish is fresher, although the Kroger on Poplar by Kirby Parkway has a nice selection of fresh seafood and a much better butcher shop. Things I like about the Fresh Market are the size. The store is relatively small, so you can get in and out easily. They have a very nice cheese selection. The meat selection is also very good and seems to be fresh but on the expensive side. The deli area is pretty good offering rotisserie chicken, salmon, ham, pork, ribs, etc. Nice salads and tasty sandwiches. They also have a small sushi section and they recently added a bulk seafood bar. I love seaweed salad and can now buy it in bulk at a slightly cheaper price than the typical small containers they sell for $4.00. Overall clean store with a lot of specialty items; good produce section, pastry department and bakery with lots of fresh bread selections. Service is pretty good but prices are slightly more expensive than the larger chains. read more
