A very nice supermarket that goes for that Whole Foods effect, but I am not sure if they have as many organic and all-natural options or it is more of the chalkboard/wooden sign look. The produce is fresh and good. The meat department has great service and a lot of interesting choices. We were this close to TurDuckIn except it was sold out! They don't usually stock it, but they did during the holidays! Maybe next time... There is a large selection of nuts, mixed nuts, flavored nuts, chocolate/yogurt covered nuts, etc. haha - so if you like nuts mixed with pretzels, etc. this is a great place for you to go - it is all pay by the pound, so buy/try as much as you want! The same goes for a candy "bar" that is pay by the pound as well. There is a good selection of beer/wine as well. If you want a break from Whole Foods or something "Fancier" than Stop & Shop, etc. then check this out. read more

Love! Love! Love! We discovered this store after shopping at Old Navy in Hingham Shipyards. I love checking out new grocery stores, and saw this one across the parking lot and just had to stop in. It was a Saturday around lunchtime and the place was pretty empty. Seems a little bit like a smaller version of Whole Foods. We got some really good flank steak for about the same price as you would find elsewhere, some produce and some baked goods. The parmesan basil bread was not my cup of tea, but my fiance and son loved it. My fiance had my son in a stroller and was about to get him a cookie out of the bakery case, when a women leaned over the case and handed him a full-sized cookie free of charge. Super nice. Because of the slightly higher costs, I would never do my weekly shopping here, but I will certainly be back to browse and pick up a few things. read more

Another awesome Fresh Market. I actually googled the closest to where I live now and drove 45 minutes to get to it. I absolutely love shopping here, everything is laid out so nicely and fresh. They had a special on their cake loaf, buy one get one free. Got their chocolate chip and coconut pineapple cakes. Absolutely delicious. Also Came back home with lots of tiny spaghetti squash and butternut squash. They are very fresh as if I just picked them from the garden myself. read more

Shoppers beware! I recently called The Fresh Market in Hingham and asked about lobster tails prices for Sunday. I was told by the clerk in the seafood department on the phone that on Sunday the tails would be $7.99 ea. I called on Friday. When I arrived I ordered the 50 tails that I required and was told that they were $9.99 ea that $7.99 was last weeks price. Even though on the counter was a sign saying $7.99 ea. I challenged the clerk at the counter and he said no the price was $9.99. I could not waste anymore time as we were having company and needed to back back home to start preparing. The next morning I wrote a letter to stop manager Mr. King and explained the situation to him and enclosed my sales slip for his review. SHAME on Mr King he has not taken the time to respond to my mail. In my business if I quote a price and I make a mistake I own it. Apparently The Fresh Market can tell you one thing and do something else. Mr King would be well served to practice some customer service! What would it have taken for him to respond? I went to check this out after browsing around the rest of the complex. I feel like this place is more style than substance. There is no unifying theme to the store, aside from looking nice. You can get all of the regular stuff at Stop and Shop, and if you're looking for organic/better quality items, you are better off going to Whole Foods where you won't have to pick through the other junk to get it. That being said, the staff were really friendly, which is a nice surprise. they have some nice bulk items, including snack mixes, nuts and coffee beans. Quite a drive from where I live, but I stop by on occasion because their fresh sourdough rolls are just so good. Other baked goods are also excellent. The mini salted caramel cupcakes aren't always there, but when they are, they're also worth the 30+ minute drive. Also, they have cotton candy grapes in the summer if you get lucky. The candy section is way better than any other grocery store in the area (you can even scoop your own gummies and chocolates like in a traditional candy store, but you'll pay a pretty penny for the privilege). And they have several flavors of Hubert's Lemonade! Staff is very much hit or miss, and prices are high, so four stars. read more

People have been waiting for The Fresh Market to open its doors! It's opening day and the place was absolutely packed with people, eager to check out the goods! My lunch companions and I picked up some prepared foods (I got a rotisserie chicken salad sandwich, which was quite nice) and checked the place out. The produce looks great and I'm excited to try some of the other tasty-looking dishes. The staff went out of their way to be nice and helpful, but I felt bad for the poor guys because the kinks aren't out of the system yet. I'm sure once things settle down, they'll get into a groove, but for now, I forgive! It's nice to have an upscale alternative in the neighborhood. I am obsessed with the olive bar at the Fresh Market! The grape leaves are so amazing and the olives are always fresh with interesting flavor combos. I love the sundried tomato-stuffed olives, japaleno-stuffed olives, and crushed red pepper olives. Desserts here are also gourmet and fresh- recently tried a "cappucino cup" at a party, which was a cappucino frosted chocolate chip cookie cup...delish! Awesome cheese selection and trail mix type 'serve yourself' options. A little pricey for everyday grocery shopping but a great place to grab a snack while walking in the Shipyard! read more

Stopped in to stock up on some items since we rented a house for the week. There was another similar store like this nearby but we kept it local. Great variety of fresh fruits, veggies, fish, and meats. We bought some salmon burgers which were very reasonably priced and I grilled them to perfection. Plenty of healthy options with chips and ice cream. You'll find a nice variety of wines and cheeses as well. It's a step above your average supermarket and you might pay slightly more but it's all worth it. Plenty of parking and located near chain stores. read more

I was a tad skeptical when I heard yet another Grocery store wa opeing, but think this is a great cross between a Hannafords and a Whole Foods. The only downside is it it too small to shop at for everything. It is in a great location in the Shipyard, and I wish they opened at 7 so more of the commuter boat people could get their prepared foods,a nd pastries... i think it would be great for business! The decor is very inviting, the section clearly define, and the quality of meat, pastries, deli, candy, fruiots etc. very good. The staff is beyond helpful I was eyeing some freezed ried fruit and a guy literally opened a whole package so I could try some! I hate to bring down a store that many people seem to like, but as my wife refers to me as "The Tea Snob," I feel that I must warn off potential tea purchasers. While it's no surprise that the section is far smaller than that for coffee - one might expect more from a "high end" store - there really is not a great selection here, and, as has been mentioned, pricing is somewhat high (You can get Twinnings at S&S for less then the "sale" price everyday). And the reason that I walked out without a purchase? No Darjeeling anywhere, in any brand. I've heard good things from coworkers about FM. The pros are $2.99 Tuesdays chicken and chuck. The negatives are the other one day deals. Today they were offering via an email but one day only Cinco de Mayo chicken for 1299 it included tortillas avocado salsa cheese sour cream and diced chicken I went to have to work to pick that up along with a $20 chicken fajita meal for when I arrived at the store at 5:15 I have to go pick 1299 dice to check in at one day only deal nobody had any idea what I was talking about one person asked if I wanted a rotisserie chicken I told them know I can go out to my car and show you the email they proceeded to get a manager who told me they were sold out of that now mind you it says it is freshly made in the store when you think they could make more now on to the $20 meal deal. They had everything except the chicken and tthe manager offers to go back and get me some but I told him it's useless if you don't have the oven 12.99 dice chicken deal. No offer to make any. I work until 5 p.m. there is no way I can get to that store or any other Supermarket before 5:15. When they say "made fresh in store" why wouldn't they replenish when something runs out? Again, this is not the first time that this has happened. It has happened to me about three or four times in last 9-10 months. I used to go to thie store 2 days a week at least now it's down to once or twice a month the store needs to better train the staff on what the daily specials are they need to replenish when they run out of something especially something that is made in store or they should put a disclaimer when they put out an advertisement saying must be purchased in store by 11 a.m. or you're screwed because we won't have any after that and we won't make anymore. read more

3.5 stars- I'll round up, since I do like this place. We'll start with the bad news: -It's pricey. No getting around that. -It's pricey, and some of the items are the SAME EXACT products you can get at Stop and Shop for $2 less, no joke. You really have to be a saavy shopper and know your shit when it comes to prices. Good News: -Some of the produce is outstanding. I especially love the HUGE honeycrisp apples and then avocados. -OMG SNACK BAR! Greatest selection of snack/granola stuff-veggie chips, all flavors of granola, chocolate covered items, etc. All in all it's worth a shot- some of the produce is outstanding, and the snack bar is outrageously good. When I lived in Boston and Norton my only real option was to shop at Whole Foods if I wanted a more healthy choices. I live in Hull now which is 10 minutes drive to this location. I love it here. I can't afford to shop at whole foods so I feel especially broke here. They have amazing stuff though and free samples all the time. I really hope this place does great! The Fresh Market is a refreshing change to always going to Whole Foods. There are some items that are way overpriced (prepared sandwiches and dinners), and other things that are a great value. For instance the sushi here is a dollar more than Whole Foods, but you get a whole other row of sushi. The meat case is beautiful (how does one describe a meat case?), and the selection in the market makes me excited to make dinner! Produce is different and fun, as is all of the cheeses and breads. I always thought of this place as a 4-ish star place. Prices comparable to Whole Foods with similar quality but I didn't like it as much. We were recently introduced to Fresh Markets 20 dollar meal deal where once a week they have a new, "meal" for 20 bucks, that feeds a family of 4, complete with dessert. It is such a fantastic deal and I love coming every week for it, that I had to write a review! Last week was Tacos, where you pick from a pound of either ground turkey or sirloin. Then you get tortillas, sour cream, cheese, guac, salsa, taco sauce and a dessert! Its awesome and such a great value. read more

When I worked across the street from the Fresh Market I was a frequent customer as it is a really lovely store. To me it feels like a nicer Whole Foods, almost like a larger version of a high end local market. Its pretty expensive so I never bought any packaged food here you can buy elsewhere but the prepared foods are definitely worth the money. Oh and Fresh Market has the BEST CHICKEN SALAD EVER. I got a chicken salad wrap here minimum once a week and since I no longer live in the area I constantly crave it, I have never had chicken salad that comes close! On my most recent business trip to Illinois I saw a Fresh Market and actually stopped in to get some, it's just the best! Definitely a great store for quality prepared foods, produce, and artisanal products but not the type of place where you want to do all your grocery shopping since that could add up pretty quickly. read more

I used to love going here for what I assumed was fresh and close to natural foods. Recently (the past 2 months) I've purchased produce and it is going bad quickly (the next day or less). Another thing I'm seeing now is the sizes of apples, pears, and some other fruit becoming alarmingly HUGE!? Fresh Market is a very relaxing store to shop at. The music playing and slower pace to look at interesting items creates a nice shopping experience. Fresh Market has the best coffee beans around several barrel's full of flavored & not flavored coffee selections. Its getting busier so I think people are catching on its a great market. read more

I don't shop at the Fresh Market regularly (I'd be broke), nor do I buy wine there regularly. But I like having the option. And I love when I'm strolling through the aisles listening to lovely music being piped in, in a beautiful setting and happen upon a sweet gentleman offering wine tasting. Most times, the wine's haven't been all that great but there has been the occasional surprise that I've purchased to accompany the items in my cart. This market is not someplace to do a weekly shop, however, my husband and I try our hardest to go here at least twice a month. It is clean, everything is fresh and nice people work here. Most weekends they have tastings so you know what you are buying. Good cheese, good bread, nice selections on the deli side (not just talking about meats, they have awesome pasta and other type salad selections). Check it out, you won't be disappointed. As other reviewers have mentioned, the store is kinda a combo of Trader Joe's and Whole Foods (or Whole Check, as my husband says). I absolutely love their self-serve snacks. I am now addicted to their cranberry/pistachio mix. I also like their prepared foods. They have cheese, but I think Whole Foods does a better job in that area, and I think Trader Joe's has the best frozen foods. Overall, I like the store - they have unique, albeit pricey, items and everything has been of good quality. They also have wine and beer and that is convenient. The best part, I think, is the staff. Love coming to this place everything is always fresh from produce to deli to the snack bins. A huge assortment of different things can even pick up beer and wine and cleaning products. Prices can run a little high compared to say stop and shop but you also get what you pay for here. Deli and prepared foods are also great and make a quick grab. I have developed a recent love (and slight obsession) for pursuing various grocery stores. I have found that The Fresh Market (while pricey) offers a unique selection of products (French Market beignet mix?! Hot Lips soda?!) as well as a huge row of bins with things from blueberry yogurt pretzels to traditional penny candy. I would not shop here for staples but definitely pop in for a good special or just to roam around and try a sample or two. OH- Did I mention they offer tastings? Wine, cheese, coffee. YUM YUM. Love living near this place. Great selection of fresh prepared foods for the nights I don't feel like cooking after a long day at work. One-stop shopping for a good quality meal, a bottle of wine, a delicious baked good. Please let me say that I had really high hopes for this place after reading the Yelp reviews. For a market that bills itself as, "making(sic) it our goal to set ourselves apart from the rest. This is just another boring, non-inclusive grocery store. I am a vegan and there were almost zero options of ready-made food for me to eat. Every single wrap included cheese, and even the salads were covered in gobs of cheese and eggs. The only option was vegetable sushi that looked less than fresh and turning brown. We stopped in to grab some lunch as we were heading out to the Boston Harbor Islands for the day. Sushi isn't really ideal for an afternoon of hiking. Oh, and as to "the warm shopping experience"?" The person at checkout was brisk and rude, slamming my purchases (chips and a drink) in the bag, and giving me zero eye contact. I ended up having to going to Trader Joe's and picking up a vegan wrap sandwich. The lady at checkout was perfectly lovely and friendly. I would give Fresh Market one star, but I'll do two because it is an attractive store that smells nice and seems clean. They sell beer and wine which we didn't have time to browse.
