I have also suffered from this company. I rented a trailer from them for a month, but it literally…read morefell apart with absolutely no load. I had to buy three wheels and material to make the ramp. Their unloaded trailer bounces like a ball on the road and therefore falls apart on its own. Because of this, the trailer springs fail, causing the tires to wear out intensively. When I was towing this empty trailer, one of the ramps flew out of a special pocket and got lost somewhere between South Dakota and Nebraska. I spent a whole day looking for this ramp and drove at least 500 miles but could not find this ramp. When I asked Mr. Ryan Avery for another ramp, he refused. Obviously, the ramp was lost for one reason only, because the ramp pocket could not hold it. I tried to buy another ramp but all the other ramps didn't fit this trailer. Then I bought material and welding equipment and made another ramp myself right in the garage of a client who had his car transported. Also Mr. Ryan Avery refused to refund all my costs for this trailer. When I demanded to replace this trailer with a serviceable one, he agreed. However, when I brought him his trailer to Texas, he accused me of breaking this trailer. Also, Mr. Ryan Avery, $883.36 from my debit card for allegedly breaking his trailer. He also accused me of breaking the jack, while he himself, driving the loader, drove the unraveled trailer jack onto the curb, which made me hear a loud sound from the jack hitting the curb. I am now suing Mr. Ryan Avery for $3,274.47. I also ask the court to recover from him for all my suffering with this trailer moral damage at the discretion of the court. It's not that Mr. Ryan Avery gave me a trailer full of junk. The fact is that he literally left me with a problem that arose through his fault. At the same time, he said that it was my fault that I signed the contract and did not point out the shortcomings of this trailer before signing the contract. I don't want other people to suffer like me. Therefore, I highly recommend Mr. Ryan Avery will continue to show respect for people and will not give up his direct duties to monitor the technical condition of his trailers. I bought myself a similar 36 foot trailer from the Appalachian brand. The axles of this trailer are located closer to the middle and therefore they are more pressed by the weight of the empty trailer. Therefore, the empty Apalachi trailer does not jump and does not self-destruct, unlike toolrent trailers. Therefore, I also recommend Mr. Ryan Avery stop renting his trailers to people. If he wants to continue leasing his trailers to people, he should make other trailers. In trailers, the axles should be installed correctly, that is, closer to the middle, so that the empty trailer does not jumping during towing and does not self-destructing. With all due respect, I strongly recommend the management of tool rent to read the book Complaint as a gift https://www.amazon.com/Complaint-Gift-Customer-Feedback-Strategic/dp/1576755827

Do not do business with these clowns. I reserved a trailer for pickup the next day. I drove three hours only to show up and find out they had rented it out from under me. Their explanation was someone came in with cash. Terrible business practices. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. Oh and the best part they kept $38 off my payment. I would give them zero stars if I could.

UPDATE AS OF 4/7: James did contact me on 3/29 and was very…read moresympathetic to my experience with Ad Fast Transport LLC, which he told me he would hold accountable to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. He also offered to reimburse me for my Uber expenses, which I also appreciated. Overall, the experience still wasn't the best but I can appreciate the apology and actions that came afterwards from the Car Carriage. **Full transparency: I have updated my review from two stars to four following the update.** This was my first time using an auto transport company and I decided to use the Car Carriage based on a solid review from a family friend. During my initial consultation via online system and call, the company was very responsive. James was a great help to understand what the process would be like and get an accurate look at the total costs. I also appreciated that I did not have to pay anything upfront until the car was delivered. The Car Carriage is based in Texas and they use contractors around the country to pick up your car. The contractor I used, Ad Fast Transport LLC is based in Maryland and dealing with them was the worst experience. First off, leading up to my pick-up date, I heard nothing from Ad Fast. The Car Carriage provided their contact information so I reached out and a representative named Josy picked up. Josy seemed very unorganized and unprofessional during our call and had no idea when the driver would arrive to pick up my car. This was a problem because I had a flight back to Maryland in less than four days and needed my car picked up before I left. I had to consistently call Josy to get an idea of when the driver could pick up my car. It was originally scheduled for pick up on 3/15 but it wasn't picked up until 3/17. However, this wasn't the biggest issue. The biggest issue was when I recieved a text from Josy asking me if I could meet the driver 25 minutes west from the original pickup location in a very rural area. I was very skeptical of this unprofessionalism, however, like I said before, I needed my car gone before my flight. So I agreed and drove to the location. The driver was very sweet about it all but I learned he was planning to come to the original location but was told by Josy not to. Getting back to my original location was a pain as temperatures were in the single-digits and there was no ubers or lyfts available until an hour later so I had to wait in a local motel until I could find a driver to take me home. My car was safely delivered to the contacting company but I was out $52 from the Uber and had to wait an hour in an unfamiliar part of town. When I asked Josy, how I would get home once I gave my car, her only response was "I don't know." When I reached back out to James and the Car Carriage for a response, I have yet to receive an email as of 3/24. There is no accountability and the lack of communication from all involved parties has been disheartening and frustrating to say the least. Luckily, my car was delivered safely to the listed location in a timely fashion on 3/21. However, this experience has been so traumatizing and horrific that I would not recommend the Car Carriage or any of its contractors to anyone.

DOUBLE BROKER ALERT…read more Rate did not match what customer actually had a contract with them. We verified directly with the customer at the pickup. The Car Carriage LLC refused to fix the issue and instead threatened us with negative if we didn't pick up the car, or pay $300 to avoid it. Unprofessional, dishonest, and a waste of time. Carriers beware--high risk of scam and double brokerage.
