I have been a loyal customer for over 12 years all while referring customers and leaving great reviews. I had my car towed in on Oct 29 because I was having issues starting my car. Although the battery was only 7 months old Paul assured me the only thing wrong with my car was it needed another battery although I told him the battery was new. I paid $209 for him to replace my battery. Less than 60 days later my car was stalling to crank AGAIN. By Dec 29 it quit on me altogether. This time I had it towed to the Infiniti dealership. It took a few days for them to get around to look at it (holidays). The only thing wrong with my car was the battery. The dealership informed me that the reason my car was hard to crank is because the battery I had in there was too small for my car and couldnt put out enough amps. So i paid the dealership to replace the 60 day ($209) battery. I then contacted Hondura with all my paperwork and receipts and kindly asked for a refund in exchange for the practically brand new battery. Hondura would only refund me $85 of the $209 although it was their mistake for putting the wrong size battery on my car. I am highly disappointed in their customer service and lack accountability and after 12 years of loyalty to them I will never be back. read more

I was travelling on a work trip and had a light come on my dash. I came by Hondura Car Service since it was the closest, highly rated auto shop. I came in without an appointment and they told me it would be 30 minutes to check it out. There were at least 10 people in the waiting room so I was a little skeptical on the time. I was VERY surprised when they came back after 20 minutes and had a diagnosis and a handwritten quote for repair. Unfortunately I did not have time to have them do the 3 hour repair but they said I was okay to drive with the light. I tried to pay them for the diagnosis but they refused. Multiple customers spoke up, saying I was not going to get very far with paying them. They said they were all returning customers, and that this place was the BEST in customer service. That was clearly apparent to me at that point, but to hear customers speak up like that was surprising. A big thank you to Hondura Car Services for being so good and so kind. Based on the recommendation of previous customers, I had my car towed to Hondura for service. I explained the problem to the person answering the phone and in summary, she said that they did not have time to diagnose the core problem (my car has come to a stop while driving, creating a road hazard). Then, she tried to sell me services that were not at all related to the main problem I was having. Sometime, I realize that language can be an issue, but somone who can at least understand basic English and basic auto repair should man the phones. After my experience today, I cannot honestly recommend this business to anyone. They get rave reviews, so I just expected more. Not sure what happened today. read more

Hondura has been my exclusive auto repair shop for over ten years now. I have a '92 Civic 5-speed that still gets 30-35 mpg and breezes through the emissions test on my yearly inspection. Almost 180K miles on it and it purrs like a kitten. It would be impossible to guess how much money Paul (the owner) has saved me over the years. I try and go during the middle of the week and I am usually in & out in no time. Even the ladies there are knowledgeable about your Honda. You can start telling them what's wrong and they will tell you what you need before you have a chance to finish. There is also a tow truck service they work with if you can't drive your car in, and the guy is cheap for a tow across town. You can even pay Hondura for the tow when you pay for your repairs if you need to & they'll take care of the driver for you. My dad bought a used Accord from a dealer who tried to get my dad to let them do several thousand dollars worth of repairs & maintenance they insisted it needed. I finally convinced him to take it to Paul & see what he said. They checked the car over and Paul told my dad what had to be done that day, what could be done a little later down the road, and also prioritized everything by how necessary it was or wasn't. He spent a few hundred that day and got just about all the work done in due time at a fraction of what the dealer tried to charge. As the name implies, they specialize in Hondas & Acuras. They will work on other Japanese cars, and even American cars if it's not a major problem. If it is something major that you would be better off taking to somewhere that could handle the repair smoother, Paul will tell you that, too. They also give cash discounts (~5%) and will even let you bring in your own parts for them to use, saving you a little more there too. As someone else mentioned, the 30K mile service is right around $200, I believe the dealer gets you for about $500 nowadays for the same thing. Good, fast, cheap, close, and HONEST!!! The 1st time I went to this place to get a rear brake replacement they seemed okay. I referred my husband to go there to get his brakes replaced and they completely messed up the alignment of his car, and bent a part causing his car not to be able to be aligned unless he has over a thousand dollars in work completed to replace the part that Hondura Car Service destroyed. Now after going to get my front brakes replaced about a year ago, I find out that they left the brake pin off of my car, (which holds the brake in place, and is now causing the brake to make a flapping noise every time I come to a stop). This is now costing me a fortune at the dealership. I will never take my car here again, nor will I refer anyone else to go here!! read more

My father-in-law tracked this place down a few years back when we were pricing out a timing belt replacement for my 1993 Honda Accord LX (210,000 mi). Hondura took care of it well under what others had quoted me. The work was done overnight and I had my car the next day. I had since tried a few other repair shops out closer to work (Addison) and home (Lewisville). However, I never have felt as good about the work done as I have with Hondura. I recently dropped by there to have them look at a shift-lock issue. One of the guys knew what the problem was right away, quoted me, and had the work done within 30 minutes. I've heard one of the secrets is that the mechanics are all old Honda/Accura manufacturers from plants in Japan. No idea if that's true but they know the product, that's for sure! read more

Note: The map here is inaccurate - it shows Hondura to be east of Loop 12, it is actually just west, on the north side of Irving Blvd. First off, I'll just say that I'm tempted to never buy anything other than a Honda or Acura, just because this place specializes in those makes (Hondura, get it?). I first discovered them back in the early 90's, when they were located on Story Rd., and went by the name Honcura. They worked on my Civic several times, the work was always done right, and their price was always at least 20% lower than any other estimate I got elsewhere. One day the camshaft broke on the old Civic, and Paul agreed to replace it with one from a salvage yard, free of charge, just so I could get it to the dealership and trade it in, which I did the next day. He probably was tired of looking at that lemon, and I know he felt sorry for me by that point. So I end up moving to E. Dallas, a few years go by, and I don't need any repairs on my new Accord. Then one day I get a postcard in the mail saying that "Paul is back!", listing the new name and address on Irving Blvd. I've gone nowhere else with two Accords, an Acura, and now a Kia Optima. Having a mechanic you can count on = peace of mind. read more

I have been coming here for almost 15 years and the service has always treated me well, however, today I went in for a quick inspection and to change the oil filter since the cap was screwed on too tight and my dad and I could not remove it ourselves to change it ourselves, which is something we have done many times before. When I walked it, they were friendly and helped me with the inspection. The trouble and awfully rude service started when the front lady came up to me and told me the oil filter housing cap was broken. When I tried to example that we didn't break it since we couldn't take it off and didn't want to break it trying, but before I could even finish, she cut me off and wrote me off as a naive girl who had no idea what I was doing. She wouldn't let me finish or talk, and dragged me to the back to see the damage. The damage was not bad but I had been there for almost an hour and after discussing it with my dad, we came to the conclusion to just change it there and have part brought back to the dealership to show the damage they had done. They told us $95 for the part and labor. That's ridiculous, the part itself is around $36, they wanted to charge us almost $60 on labor for screwing off the cap and replacing it. After my dad negotiated with David, he dropped the price by $10, which was still too much, but we had been going there for so long and trusted David. When it was time to pay, I asked why they charged so much for the part. A harmless and curious question. The lady in the front responded with a snarky remark of how it was from the dealership and that I already paid so I shouldn't be complaining. Both front ladies proceeded to talk crap about me saying something about me finding the part online and that's so silly of me. That's extremely rude, you can do that when I'm not around but right in front of me with the assumption I don't understand you, that's absolutely ridiculous and extremely rude. Right before I left, I asked once again why they charged so much for future reference, the first lady that assisted me, snapped at me saying I need to stop complaining and that if the part online was cheaper why I didn't just buy it there and bring it to them to change. First of all, how rude of you, secondly, I didn't even know the part was broken to begin with, so how would I know to buy the part? It was such a rude and awful experience, is this what 15 years of loyalty gets me? Rude and snarky remarks with a sprinkling of ripping me off? No thank you. And how dare she tell me that she doesn't want to lose a good customer but I need to stop complaining. Needless to say, I never want to go back there. read more

We got several recommend from friends and they sure do worth a great review. Few years ago, we were asking 1700+ second time of year for fixing our Camry from local big chain store. We end up asked Hondura to fixed it. Turned up, the big chain store swore one of big break down was just dirty parts. Hondura cleaned it up with no charge. The other replacement was only cost less then $400. We were hooked by their friendly services and honest opinions. If they can't find the problem, they wouldn't charge it. Store is at minimum half hour drive from us. We always call ahead and ask them to estimated the shop time. They are pretty good about timing. Went to the Toyota of Irving dealership for an oil change and to replace a bad tire for my '05 Sequoia, and was informed that my brake pads needed to be replaced immediately. Informed the mechanic that I did not have the money for these additional repairs and he starts to apply pressure explaining how it would be very dangerous for me not to replace the brake pads this instant. I held my ground and sought out a second opinion from Hondura auto shop. The mechanic at Hondura informed that the pads were fine and would last me another 3-4 months. Once I had the money to make the repairs, the mechanics at Hondura replaced my brake pads for roughly 1/2 the price quoted at the dealership (they even used OEM parts). Going forward, this will be my mechanic of choice. read more

Tried this place for the first time due to their good reviews only to get ripped off and then had parts missing! The car's motor was shaking and I went in to get it serviced, I was told the issue was either a spark plug or coil and each individual one would need to be replaced to find the ONE with issues. Car was in pretty bad shape so I didn't have a choice but to move forward with 1 spark plug and 1 coiled changed. After I had 1 spark plug and 1 coil changed and being charged $375, there was absolutely no difference. They recommended to change the remaining 5 coils and spark plugs! Even then, they were not "sure" this would solve the issue and said it could be a fuel injector. Fed up with their service, I went to another shop (Angel's Garage) who actually took the time to check each individual coil & spark plug without charging and found no issues with them. They diagnosed the car with the need for a fuel injector. I also had them check the heater because it had stopped working since taking it to Hondura, only to find out the THERMOSTAT WAS MISSING! I do not recommend going to these guys only because they have a few positive reviews, obtain a quote and get a second opinion - I had the issue diagnosed FREE OF CHARGE AND FIXED FOR 1/3 OF THE PRICE. I will never step into this shop again and do not recommend anyone doing so, you obtain customers by fixing problems not charging them an arm and a leg to "probably" fix the issue. read more
