The only reason i've provided 2 stars is because coffee is usually good. I'm from seattle wa. I make a trip down to Savanah usually once a year for a week. And generally went to Gallery coffee. I asked for the same coffee every time. I always get a strange look my order is a black-and-white with vanilla I ask for whipped cream with a little on top of the lid. This year there was new employees. My barista misunderstood and told me my whipped cream on the bottom of my cup wasn't mixing in correctly. I explained to her that I didn't need my whipped cream at the bottom of my cup. She was gonna remake it . Is it her know it was a mistake. It's misunderstanding no problem. It's all gonna go to the same place anyway anyways don't worry about it. She was very upset about how I asked for my whipped cream. She told me that's not how we do things around here. I did tell her we had no problem doing it in Seattle. But I just left it off got my coffee and left. I sat down to drink my coffee and noted that there was no coffee in it. Or at least they tasted like there was no coffee at all. I think she got so flustered she forgot a coffee. I was gonna drink it. My husband wanted me to let them know. I really didn't want to. I was already so embarrassed over the whole whipped cream issue and that there was an issue over it. He insisted that I go in and let them know. I haven't gotten the coffee in the drink. So I try to be as polite as I possibly could and let them know there was no coffee. Ask them if they could fix the drink. The "acting manager "as she said it told me it was the weird way. I wanted my whipped cream. I was shocked! I took the lid off and I said I just wanted some right here pointing under the lid. And right here pointing on top of the lid. I wasn't yelling or rude. She told me that was it. She was getting my money back and I was not to come back again. I shocked! ! My husband couldn't believe it. . You would've thought I would've been rude or arguing and none of this occurred. I was actually scared to go in and let them know. They forgot the coffee. I asked for the manager she informed me she was the manager or acting manager. I asked for the owner she told me she wasn't working. I asked if I could have her contact information. She told me no. I asked what the owner's name was. She told me she wasn't going to tell me she told me I was not gonna bother her at home. I informed her I had never asked for her home phone number just her contact information. She told me that was her home phone number and I could not speak with the owner. I would have to try to find her when she came in. I asked her when she was gonna be in and she told me sometime tomorrow. I have honestly never been so embarrassed or mistreated Customer Service. My advice if you go to gallery espresso is to let them pick your coffee because if you get something that they're not familiar with you, make it thrown out. Service there was -5 stars. read more

I love this coffee shop. We first discovered it a few years or so ago when visiting Savannah, and anytime we're in town we make a point of stopping by. The coffee excellent, crafted by expert baristas. They also have some food options, mostly light bites, which are also very good. To me the highlight is the interior, which features lots of mismatched chairs in a relatively large space, which is great for hanging out, chatting with friends, or getting some work done. The food is pretty simple, but very well made. I had the BLT on Wheat sandwich, which was delicious. My wife had the Ginger Chicken Salad, which she loved. Coffee and tea were both excellent as well. What a great cafe and what a great cup of coffee. I got the flavor of the day - caramel something. So good! Very friendly and efficient staff (3 women 3/31/24 in the morning; rookie Yelp mistake not to notice their names ;-) seeing my FarmLife coffee tumbler, another customer, the baristas and I had a funny discussion about hopes of raising chickens ! The pastries on the counter looked amazing croissants, pies and other beautiful baked goods. Healthy options are artfully displayed under the decadent choices. There is seating inside and outside. Curious as to how anyone could rate this place less than a 5 on Yelp, I noticed that many of the low ratings were a year and many years ago. Definitely go here! read more

Our group came here on recommendation from a local to kill some time while waiting on a historic house tour to begin. We each had a mimosa and shared a pastry. The drinks and the pastry were all good but nothing to write home about. The cafe in and of itself is cute and has an indy vibe to it, though, I would have enjoyed it more if the furniture was a bit more comfortable (imagine some thrift store finds that are in need of TLC), and the cafe a bit more clean. It was fine, but reminded me a lot of places I frequented in college where you'd be okay with some dusty shelves and broken furniture. I'm in my thirties, when I sit down for a mimosa and a pastry, I kind of want to not feel as if I'm in squalor. I will say though, it IS charming here and the food IS pretty decent. With a few modifications this place could really be something amazing. Pro tip: If you go here on a weekend morning expect to wait! Supposedly the oldest cafe in Savannah! It's conveniently outside of Chippewa park (where forest Gump sat on the bench) and filled with cozy seats to cool off in AC after exploring in the summer heat. We ordered iced teas and a slice of coffee cake. The cake was good - a little dry but full of nuts and sugary goodness. Hope to try their coffee next time! read more

I didn't verify the source of this information but I heard The Gallery Espresso is the oldest coffeehouse in Savannah. When you go inside, you will immediately notice the traditional, masculine furniture, with feminine details such as the china. But you've come here for the coffee, of course. My daughter got the Thai iced coffee, which turned out to be better than the Savannah Fog (a version of earl grey with lavender) that I ordered. We had a spinach and feta croissant and a turnover filled with sautéed onions, garlic, mushrooms and arugula that were both very good. Stopped in for a cup of coffee and a quick bite to eat. Cute, eclectic interior, although most of the seating was taken up by students and others relaxing or treating the place as an Internet cafe. My wife and I were fortunate to spot a table opening up, so one of us went over and grabbed it while the other one walked up to the counter to place our order. If I was going to rate the cafe on just this aspect of our experience, it would only have warranted two stars, or perhaps three at most. However, the coffee and food were so good - - and so reasonably priced - - that the overall rating is pushed up to four stars. My wife ordered a regular-sized coffee for $1.75 and I ordered a large cup for only $2.50. (Check out my photo to see the two sizes of the cups.) I then ordered a Veggie Sandwich for $6.50, which was one of the specials of the day. The sandwich consisted of sweet dijon balsamic vinegar spread, fried breaded eggplant, arugula, roasted red bell peppers, served on Italian foccaccia bread. The sandwich was pre-made, but before serving it to me, it was placed in the oven for awhile and then brought to my table. It was absolutely delicious! read more

Well, well,well... I love it when I find a hidden gem and today was one of those days. The Gallery is like a cozy hip living room with all sorts of furniture to sit on and enjoy the coffee. The decor is super hip and bohemian like. They have a vast array of coffee teas scones, muffins, etc. Loose Teas are also available to buy. The location is facing Chippewa Square on Bull St. It's basically a neighborhood with many locals frequenting The Gallery. I say outside and enjoyed the morning sounds facing the Square. We stumbled into this little coffee shop on our first morning in Savannah, and we're very glad we did! Filled with locals, you can be rest assured that this place is locally beloved, and with good reason! Many locals call it the "FRIENDS cafe", because of its similarities to Central Perk in the TV show, FRIENDS. Much like that iconic coffee shop, this café is characterized by an array of mismatched furniture, local artwork, and a coffee and tea shop filled with interesting and unique items! They have many unique items on their menu to intrigue one's taste buds, such as Turkish coffee, Thai coffee, Freido, and artisan teas, as well as the usual array of lattes, cappuccinos, and frosty blended beverages. They also have an amazing selection of locally made pastries, more than any reasonable person could taste in a day! The beverages here are perfectly sweetened, and are not of the Starbucks variety where it is so sweet that your teeth hurt. My travel companion got a mocha, whereas I tried the Turkish coffee, and then the maple spice latte. All were absolutely delicious, and quite reasonably priced too! The Turkish coffee is brewed with various spices in it, giving a natural sweetness that requires no cream, and is meant for slow sipping and enjoyment. I got it strained, meaning the grounds and spices were removed prior to being served. If you prefer a stronger coffee, leave them in for an additional jolt! All in all, this was a beautiful, relaxing location to start off our Savannah weekend getaway, and I just know that if I lived here, I would be a regular at this gorgeous local haunt! read more

I really like how this coffee shop is decorated. I love the couches and tables that they have. It gives it an old school vibe. I ordered an iced coffee with oat milk and a sausage eggs and cheese pastry. I was not satisfied with either. The ice coffee was very watery, I'm guessing the oat milk that they use is not a creamy kind. The sausage pastry was cold. They have them sitting on the counter and once you ask for it, they grab it and put it In a bag. I thought maybe they warm it up, but they don't. So it was cold and the cheese inside was hard. I asked the girl to add more oat milk to my coffee, and even with that, it wasn't to my linking. They had a small line when I walked In and it went by pretty fast. My suggestion is that they should warm up the pastries that have meat or cheese before giving it to the client. That will make the food taste better! read more
