I came here randomly on Cinco de Mayo with my sister and a friend. Let's get into the food first. I ordered a full pulled pork sandwhich. The pulled pork sandwhich itself was actually good. I enjoyed the sandwhich. They do not have fries as a side, chips are the closest it gets. If you want a side other than chips, it's an up charge. The service started off really good. The gentleman who initially took our order and fixed our drinks was really nice and helpful. Unfortunately a young lady gave our food away to another table who came way after and ordered after. Instead of being empathetic on the mixup initially. we were told "it's cinco de mayo". I did appreciate and love the low lighting inside of the restaurant and I like how there's outdoor seating as well. It was a nice ambiance for a pub. read more

We came here for a birthday after work because it's one of the only places open late during the week that serves food- ther kitchen stays open until 1:30am! We celebrated a birthday and the bartenders let us light a candle outside. The Garage has a cool car theme and you'll see car parts all over the place. It's kind of a dive bar but don't let that stop you from trying the food. I always get the top down pulled chicken sliders or the chicken phillydilla. Get extra garage sauce always! read more

Stopped at The Garage for the first time. It's a nice spot with plenty of inside and outside seating. The outside seating includes tables and bar seating. I sat outside at the bar and was greeted and ordered a drink while I looked at the food menu. I ended up ordering the Spicy Chicken pizza. The pizza was as described and pretty sizable. Unfortunately I didn't like the flavor of their special hot sauce, and this was the main flavor of the pizza. The service was not bad but given the setup and the pizza presentation, I'd definitely give them another try if I'm in the area. read more

It was a really nice evening so we went to the garage to have a drink and dinner. We found a table outside and I went to the bar and ordered drinks. I went back to the bar a little later to ask for menus. After looking over the menus, we made our choices and I went back to the bar to place our order. I waited there for about 10 minutes and the bartender never came out so I went back and sat at the table, When I saw the bartender headed back out, I went back to the bar and stood there with the two menus. He spoke to a couple of other patrons at the bar, but never came over to me. Soon after, a group of three came over and got places at the bar. He immediately started BSing with them and completely blew me off. The guy next to me who seemed to be a regular said "he's like this", implying that he pays more attention to his friends than other customers at the bar. I spent so long standing at that bar that my beer sitting over on the table got warm. fFnally, the guy sitting next to me, got his attention and all I did was give him the indication that I wanted to check, I had had enough by then. The garage is clearly a popular and happening spot and I understand why. I'm sure there are a lot of locals and regulars that come in there, but if you can't be attentive to other customers that come in, then that really needs to be worked on. After attending Riverside Wine Fest, my friends and I decided to skip the long food truck lines and head to Garage--somewhere we've been coming to for years, often with big groups including our Stonewall Sports crew. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing due to the attitude of the bartender/server (female, Caucasian, black hair, goth style, multi-colored jacket). When we walked in to order, she abruptly told us that if we came from the event, we needed to take our drinks outside the property. We fully understood and complied immediately--we barely had anything left anyway and simply had to carry them with us. We placed our order and waited outside as instructed. My husband accidentally forgot to take the number, and when she brought it out, she slammed it on the table and said, "Maybe if you take your number we can figure out where to deliver your pizza," then walked away. Completely unnecessary attitude. We've supported this place for years because the food is consistently delicious, but the way we were treated on this visit was unacceptable. Until this staff member's behavior is addressed, I can't recommend Garage to anyone. Customer service matters just as much as good food. read more

I was on a walk and it started raining so I came in here to get some shelter. Little to realize I've been to the garage before. I came here on the St. Patrick's Day, where they throw one hell of a party that extends out into the adjacent parking lot. This was my first time here on a regular weekday. OMG!! This is the vibe in Riverside that I have been looking for. The Garage hence the name used to be an old auto body shop or "garage." All the windows open up to a wrap around patio. Inside they play early 2000 alternative rock music and have various TV's on with college baseball. The food is out of this world. I had the Three Cheese Kick Start Grilled Cheese with a side of ruffle chips. The best sandwich I've ever had! They also have a full bar. My rainy day was amazing! I'm glad I wondered in! read more

What a cool fun bar! I went here on a Friday night when the weather was perfect for sitting outside! But even if you're seating inside, the bar has plenty of windows that open up to the outside allowing the breeze to flow through. This bar has two inside bars, multiple Jumbo size Jenga(s) outside which are free to play, and live music outside on the weekends. They also have a restroom outside on the side wrapped patio, making it easy for patrons sitting outside. If you are sitting outside you will have an assigned waiter, to take your order which is great. Not only do they offer a full bar but they have a food menu as well, which includes a variety of options including: Garage Grill Cheese options, Salads, Vegetarian options, Sandwiches, Philly options, Quesadillas, Nachos, Sliders, Flat Bread Pizzas, Spinach and Artichoke dip, Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, and Garage chips/Secret Garage Sauce. From the draft options I chose the Cigar City Golden Ale, which had a light refreshing taste and brewed in Tampa, Fl. I would definitely order this beer again, as it had a pear-like fruitiness with an herbaceous hop aroma(s), made for easy drinking. :) From the food menu, we ordered: · Roasted Red Pepper Hummus: unfortunately the Hummus didn't have much flavor, so I added hot sauce (Sriracha) but the pita bread was warm and fresh. · Garage Chips w/ Secret Garage Sauce: This was a great snack, which comes with Ruffle potato chips and Secret Garage Sauce for dipping. The sauce is hard to describe and since it is a secret, we couldn't get the details out of the server haha but it was sweet, tangy, with little heat, which went great with the salty chips. I would definitely order again. The outside Jenga and live music makes this a great place to socialize with friends, or meet new friends. The Garage is like several bars in one. There's an outside area when it's nice with live music and a long outside bar. There are is another outside area for relaxing and giant Jenga and picnic tables in the back for really big party times. In the back to the left is another bar with some tables. The food is good, the Philly's are excellent and the service is outstanding. Every bartender there makes you feel welcome and provides you with great service. Stopped by with the dogs tonight. Sat outside. Was a little chilly - they do have outdoor heaters but we left before they turned them on. The atmosphere is super cool. Very open. Sits on the corner so the people watching has great potential! Four bars within walking distance from each other. Great bar hopping spot. We ordered a couple of draughts and the chips with Garage sauce/dip to start. I'm pretty sure this chips were Ruffles - my favorite chip! But I did expect homemade chips. Not sure what the menu said bcs I didn't actually read it, maybe there would have been a clue. Either way, I still enjoyed them and they were great with the dip. Definitely a mayo based dip...if I had to describe it I would say it tasted like a combo of mayo and remoulade. I liked it a lot. For my main, I ordered a Cuban. Delicious. My mom got a Philly Cheesesteak and she ate the entire thing. That's a big deal, she's a little woman! The menu had lots of great choices so I'm looking forward to going back to try the others! And just a side note about the dogs, no one paid attention to them at all! There was a big bowl of water set out which was really nice. They were able to kind of do their thing. I came here on two separate occasions: 1) friend's birthday and 2) after a morning race event. At my friend's birthday, it was at nightlife so there were many people there, drinking and having a great time. I had a vodka with sprite mixture (not a drinking person so I don't know the actual name of it). Didn't get anything to eat as it was more of a socializing event celebrating my friend's birthday. The second occasion was getting lunch after the morning race. Nice sun and cool breeze. Sat outside with my coworkers and enjoyed talking about stuff. I didn't know what to order so I had the Garage Burger Sliders with chips and a pickle. It was just 3 basic sliders with beef and cheddar cheese. Nothing special, however the best part was the Garage sauce. Not sure how they did it, but it was really good especially dipping it with chips. I dipped the burgers into it and it was good. Overall, the meal was nice, however, next time I'm going to order a different item. Hopefully something I haven't tried yet, but it's a little difficult for me as they do serve almost every American dish that I've tried. Out of all the bars on King Street - The Garage is by far my favorite. Probably because I love eating and I can somewhat get a little bit of space in this area. Service here can vary. I find myself almost always going up to the bar and ordering my food or drinks as the wait staff here can take a lifetime to get your order. The outdoor patio is great and there's usually a good crowd here. The potato chips are nothing to write home about but the sauce they give you with it is pretty darn good. read more

So it's been almost a week since my visit and to be real... I'm still a little salty. Top for the weary... always ask and verify when ordering food if descriptions, etc are vague. It was save you in the long run. Met up for HH with some coworkers. Drinks were good/cheap and our server Cat/Kat (not sure... Could be wrong altogether) was awesome. Music was good and outdoor seating was plentiful. Tip... those house chips on the menu... they aren't house MADE chips. So don't expect some freshly sliced and fried and perfectly salted russet potatoes to come out to the table. Expect potato chips. Yes, chips. Literally a bag of ruffles... could have been off brand style ruffles... who in tarnation knows! Everyone at the table was shocked and I was way to embarrassed to be like "Yeah... sorry, we thought these were going to be anything other than a bag of ruffles". Who serves ruffles as an appetizer??!!! The garage does lol at least it was cheaper than buying a bag at Publix! 2 stars because I'm bitter, petty and still feeling slightly shaded. read more

One of the things I'm starting to enjoy about this city is the feeling of everyone having recently come from a sunny day at the beach. People look a little sand-dusted, wave-beaten and sun-toasted. They look weather weary but eager to finish the day in eating and chatting with friends. I was hanging out at the Garage in Riverside after a gorgeous April day and noticed that lingering beachy air on folks walking around. I like your beard Other passers-by had a more retro look. Once a waiter told me that this was where greasers hung out, a kind of funny description for 2017. But now I've seen some of the looks of this town and realized my waiter wasn't entirely wrong. Mix in some beards and fancy mustaches. Add a dash of vests on men and a handful of artists, and you just might be near 5 points. The Garage is a really neat weekend hang out. The food is cheaper than a lot of the places and the portions are great. I got a giant steak salad with blue cheese which was super yummy. Not fancy, but completely filling. The Garage is an inside outside place with an overflowing porch area, complete with cornhole, wood barrel tables and even some antique cars. The servers zipped around and did a great job juggling the hustle and bustle of bar-goers that crowded the place. We heard some indie music in the background and got to watch people strolling toward Kickbacks and the Loft. Some people were tripping into traffic a little too easily. Antique cars and yummy carbs This place is very different from some sports bar or chain restaurant. It has a slight divey feel, but a bit more personality than some hole in the wall. For instance, hanging upside down from the ceiling in the bar is an old metal bike. On that bike is a skeleton riding. It was very unique. I visited this restaurant with a group of new friends. They ordered some tasty looking treats: mac N cheese (very cheddary delicious), cheesecake (with chocolate chunks on top) and grill cheese (with ruffles and spicy, slightly strange dip). It was fun to discover a new place and think about how I'm not in Orlando anymore and there's mysterious all around waiting to be explored. read more

I love a lot of things about The Garage but my favorite thing has got to be the ample outdoor seating. It's really the only place on King that has more than a handful of tables... and you can normally find me sitting outside wherever I go. It's the perfect spot to grab a cold beer (they have a good selection of local brews on tap), chill and just people watch in general. We saw a pup accompanying some patrons last night which always brings a smile to my face. :) They recently added umbrellas to give ya a little bit of shade for the unforgiving Florida sun. The inside has two parts: a bar with open windows on one side, and an air conditioned haven in the back if it gets too hot. Both are decorated in rustic, but well chosen artistic pieces ranging from old whiskey barrels, street signs and an old stoplight. The exposed brick was kept from the original tire shop that is was way back in the day. Great casual and laid back feel. The owner is an unpretentious, real and stand up guy... and I adore the fact he has invested so much into King street (with The Garage, Loft and The Rouge.) Is your are looking for fancy-schmancy cuisine, keep looking, I would describe the menu here as "perfect drunk food." I've tasted a few items on the menu and for me it's hit and miss (depending on my level of intoxication) but it is true about the Garage sauce. You will rack your brain trying to decipher the ingredients... our guesses had a wide range. Served with regular Ruffles, it's pretty simple and delicious. I also heard a rumor there were going to be some menu additions soon... so hang tight! (And note to self: try a grilled cheese next visit.) It can get packed, but our service has been pretty good for the most part... quick and friendly. Sometimes I feel as though reviewing a place after only one experience there is a little unfair and in this case I'm not really sure if my sole experience at The Garage, but since I don't think I'll be going back there anytime soon I'm just going to go ahead and do it. It was a Tuesday night and they were packed (not over crowded packed but busy packed) so we found a table outside and sat down. No one in our group of 4 had ever been to The Garage before so we enjoyed the allure of trying something new that we assumed would be good given the flow of people. Once our server arrived to take our drink order we also had enough time to already make our decision on food as well but wanted some reassurance about a few of our choices, one of those being the chips served with "garage sauce". Our girl told us that it was a pretty popular item and that the sauce was pretty tasty also so we decided to give it a try, along with some pork sliders and chicken nachos. When we got our chips with garage sauce we were shocked that it was as popular as our server let on because it was simply ruffles potato chips and a side of what can best be described as a mixture of mayo, ketchup, relish and possibly mustard (thousand island dressing anyone?)...nothing special and definitely not worth ordering. The sliders were tasty but that's it (nothing special) and the chicken nachos were just okay. Sometimes even if they food isn't great, you get a feeling about a place that still makes you want to come back and try it again, but unfortunately that just wasn't the case for my first and now probably only experience at The Garage. read more

Kudos to The Garage for turning a once-sketchy Riverside corner into a hip, delicious hangout. Where King and Post meet you'll now find a gray-and-black mechanic (pirate?) themed bar/restaurant. We bellied up last night and chose a circular, barrel table in the front room. There was a decent crowd hanging out, and, apparently, everyone was having a good time because there was a bit of a sing-a-long happening to the 80's tunes playing overhead. From Madonna to Paula to Whitney, every song was getting a little love from happy Garage patrons. I was glad to see their beer list was overwhelmingly local, with Intuition, Bold City and Green Room making up atleast three-fourths of the draft selection. I decided to go half-and-half and order a Bold City Fritz hefeweizen topped with Guinness. I'm sad to say they did not pour this well. Ideally, the Guinness would sit on top, totally separated from the beer on bottom in a cool-looking, oil-and-water mixture. When incorrectly poured, the two beers mix together and you lose that delicious distinction of flavors. I won't knock 'em for this, though, because it's a specialty order and it takes a little finesse to get it just right. Their menu comes just how I like 'em, big and eclectic. Interesting apps, a half-dozen grilled cheeses, stacked phillies, and a whole page of wraps make up this grease-monkey themed selection. Lucky for me, my decision began and ended with the grilled cheese section. (I'm sort of addicted). I went with the Match Made in Heaven, which threw pepperoni into the mix of a traditional cheddar grilled cheese. It came out quick, served with ruffle chips, pickles and a side of the Garage's secret sauce which was a savory, garlicky remoulade affair. The sandwich did not disappoint, and the servers made sure I was happy by checking on me several times throughout the meal. After finishing up, I walked into the second area of the restaurant, a spacious sunlit bar with an all-wooden decor I found reminiscient of a pirate ship. That, plus all the barrels everywhere had me wondering if a double-theme was going on. Either way, The Garage is a unique, tasty addition to Riverside, and one that I plan on returning to in the future. read more

I went to the garage for a Yelp event, and was impressed (enough ;])! Their garage sauce is soooo good, and I loved the Funky Chicken sandwich we got to try. We also got to try two other sandwiches- the Caprese and the Hot Mess.The Caprese was vegetarian, and a little boring without adding the garage sauce. Vegetarian doesn't mean it HAS to be boring, but it seemed like this sandwich was just tomato and bread when it came down to it. The Hot Mess I was told had pork sausage in it by our bartender, which I can't eat- but my husband said it was pretty decent. The menu said that it had beef though, so I'm wondering if we were given a variation. The highlight of my meal was definitely a Marilyn Monroe Lemonade, which I had at our bartender's suggestion. Not too sour, just the right amount of sweet, and decently alcoholic. :) We ordered a 3 Kick Starter grilled cheese sandwich to go, which came with chips, pickles, and garage sauce. I was very stoked about the garage sauce- it seems to be a mayo/pesto creation of some sort. The chips and the pickles failed to impress, no spears here- just some pickle slices and what appeared to be Ruffles or similar brand chips. All in all, would I return? I need to stop going out in Riverside. Every time I do I fall in love with another place and wish I lived closer. My latest boyfriend: The Garage. Tons of seating outside which is always fun. And instead of one big bar area it's broken up into a couple different rooms. You definitely get the feel of what it used to be (a garage as in the fix your car kind) based on the decor. Haven't really tried anything on the menu other than the bowl of cupcakes, but looking forward to going back and giving things a try. Great staff. Great local brews. Great location.
