What an amazing bar connected to an amazing Jacksonville staple. Sidecar was new for me and wow: great drinks/bourbon, prices, friendly staff, and atmosphere. You gotta love what V's does with different types of bars/specialties at each location. We started of with some $2 Sunny D seltzers which we had to try since we grew up on Sunny Delight and they were pretty good. I of course had to try their Zombie drink which is always a favorite for me and at $10 it's for sure worth it very tasty with that kick you want. Will for sure some back to Sidecar when in the area. I am not totally understand why everything was Baywatch themed or how it ties into the name Sidecar but the bar went all in and I love it! I really wanted to like this place. Sidecar is in a great location and the drinks are good, which is honestly why I kept going back longer than I should have. Unfortunately, my last two visits were uncomfortable and ended with serious billing issues. Over two nights, I was overcharged nearly $200. It appears I was charged multiple times during the night as orders were entered, and then charged again for the full total at the end. On one visit, I was given a receipt that did not reflect the tip I wrote down, only to later see an additional tip charged that I could not verify. I am still seeing duplicate and unexplained charges days later. When I went back to the bar to ask for help, I was told staff could not provide copies of receipts, which made it impossible to immediately resolve the issue. What makes this more disappointing is that from the start, the service toward me and my partner felt noticeably different. Staff were pleasant, attentive, and friendly to other guests, while being dismissive and unpleasant toward us. I ignored it at first because I liked the atmosphere and drinks, but in hindsight, I should have trusted my instincts. Watching other guests receive clearly better service made it obvious that good hospitality was possible here, just not consistently applied. After experiencing passive aggression, inconsistent service, and now significant billing discrepancies, I can't recommend using a debit or credit card here, and suggest not going at all. Based on my experience, it feels risky, and resolving errors afterward has been a trip. This could be a great spot, but the service practices and billing issues completely overshadow the positives. I won't be returning. read more

Seeing the great reviews, we stopped by sidecar for a drink before meeting friends at the nearby brewery. They have some outdoor seating available if the weather's cooperating. The interior is much larger than you'd expect, and they had only recently extended the bar. We went for a weekday just before happy hour, so we were some of the only people there. The menu looks pretty 80-90s, which I'd normally be thrilled about, but it was super random and different from the previous menus. As we sat at the bar chatting, we noticed that they had a wine fridge with their Vermouth being chilled. One thing to note about a cocktail bar- make sure they're refrigerating the already-opened bottles of Vermouth. This is always a good sign! Overall, this was a cool experience, featuring very good craft cocktails. And though I can't take fullll credit for our trip to this spot , I'll still applaud Yelp for helping me find it!! read more

Awesome little bar that's part of V Pizza in San Marco. They have all sorts of signature cocktails and craft beers on tap. The bartenders here are truly mixologists that can make some really inventive and crafty cocktails. However it slows down the service to make these things when others are waiting for a regular drink or beer. Being more of a beer guy myself I don't do all that fancy stuff; just give me a frosty cold glass of craft. Service was really polite and caring for their customers, but it did take a while to get a drink because of the bartender having to go back and make the fancy drinks. Plus there was only one bartender when I visited; so I think if they have 2 working it would have been a lot faster. I'll certainly go back to visit again when the San Marco area. I love this bar as a happy hour option! My coworkers and I wanted to grab a few drinks and food. We decided to go here because V's pizza is right next door and delivers. We had a ton of drinking including all their signature drinks and one in particular which was a special they had posted on the wall called the Irish cream coffee iced- containing cold brew, Irish cream and baileys. Absolutely amazing. There's a ton of young professionals here in a Friday night from all over downtown and San Marco area. Prices are very fair and the service is extremely fast. Side Car is a cool little bar attached to V Pizza. We have ordered pizza and eaten it on the bar side, and have also gone just for drinks. I especially love when the weather cooperates and we can have enjoy our drinks outside. The bar does not have a lot of seats, and it is always busy. It definitely just depends on the day. The bartenders are very nice and can make some incredible drinks. I always love watching them expertly mix up the specialty cocktails. We have had their rum tiki drinks like painkillers and pina coladas, and my standard drinks are usually a dirty vodka martini or negroni. This most recent visit they have the Christmas menu out! Everything sounded delicious. My boyfriend tried the coquito, and we both loved it. However, my dirty martini was just bad. I get this cocktail very frequently, but it was not right last time. No services! Have to figure out how to order pizza from V Pizza and they bring it out to you with no plates, napkins or utensils. My husband went inside and got a roll of paper towels off a table. Then when another couple joined us they continued to add their drinks on our tab. This place could be a huge hit but with lack of service and nobody offering to help or if we needed refills they are missing out on a ton of money. No plans of going back...ever. read more

I signed up a few of my friends for a tasting of Sherry. The Sidecar hosted several themed events center around this drink. I knew nothing about Sherry, but I was interested in learning. There is actually a week dedicated to Sherry. This event was right up my alley because I love a little education mixed with adult beverages. Also, it gave me a chance to check out Sidecar. With this being my first time at the Sidecar, I was very impressed. The set up is similar to a garage which I think was intentional. It was a nice transition to sit outside or inside but still feel connected. The bar is located in the San Marco area on Hendricks sheet next to V's pizza which is a good selling point for have drinks and food. The atmosphere is definitely a good place for drinks with friends or co-workers. I had a blast trying the different types of Sherry. After the event, I felt like I'd be putting Sherry into my drinking rotation at home. Sidecar did an amazing job with this event. I was so impressed.
