I was treated with disrespect and insulted, with the nasty tiny woman behind counter telling us we don't know how to water plants! I won't be back of course. Stupid business equals customers leaving. If they had any brains, they would do the math of maintaining a long term client who buys thousands of dollars of product a year vs. a $50 return. My place of employment used them because they had the best prices and best quality sod. I also priced at Home Depot and they wanted something like $2.00/piece for some brown wilted junk. My little car only holds a few pieces so I park at the sod pallet and run inside. The guys inside are nice and funny and they accept credit cards. They'll give you a receipt. Just stand outside with receipt in view and there is a super nice Spanish guy with an arm--sleeve who will help you out. The stuff can get pretty dirty so you can ask for a sheet of plastic/visqueen to put down in your trunk. The hours are really good - open 7-days per week and closing at 4:00pm on Sunday.

This was the only plant on my balcony, so there's absolutely no way the infestation came from anywhere else but the store. To make matters worse, a friend of mine bought a similar trellis bougainvillea from this same place the same week, and guess what? Hers had worms too. This clearly points to a problem with the plants they're selling. Even more upsetting, my cat ended up getting sick after coming into contact with the worms--leading to a $400 vet bill. I brought the dead plant back in hopes they would at least take some responsibility, offer a refund, an exchange, or help nurse the plant back to health. Instead, all they did was offer a systemic treatment, and made no guarantees or effort to ensure the plant was actually healthy. This was such a disappointing and costly experience--both financially and emotionally. I won't be shopping here again, and I highly recommend others think twice before purchasing plants from here without carefully checking for pests.

Trees, native & exotic plants, fruit & vegetable plants, succulents, flowers; there's no shortage of variety here. They also do a good job at rotating their selection. I like that there's usually something new to me when I visit. For the most part, prices are great. If you're on a budget, you can walk away with an armful of succulents or small potted flowers for under $15. Also, There's always a sale of some sort. Like other places, they have things that are very expensive but at least the quality of these products seem good. I remembered all of the cool shops on Lake Ave and while walking around I discovered Bali Importers. Bali Importers purchases directly from the artisans and manufacturers and ships in items from Indonesia to sell them in this spacious store. You can see pictures of the Bali artists on their website. In the store I saw clothing, beautiful fans, wood carvings, home decor, musical instruments, stickers, greeting cards, and sunglasses. They had large wooden spiders that make for one of a kind Halloween decorations. My favorite find was all of the colorful and inexpensive costume jewelry. Earring were $3 and bead bracelets were $5. I especially loved the colorful chakra adjustable bracelets. It was so fun to look through all of the beautiful gemstone jewelry. Now that I know about Bali Importers, I'll be back to shop for Christmas presents.
