There are lots of uncommon fruits and veggies, like fresh jujube fruits, prickly pear cactus fruits, and specialty herbs and greens. It's a great way to support local businesses and farmers, while keeping excess produce out of the landfills. The open-air market style also allows for individual selections of produce, and considerably less plastic packaging!! Don't forget your reusable bags, but if you do, they sell some and they even offer green, compostable produce bags available for any quantity you are in need of. Foothill Produce is particularly great for discount deals on ripe produce if you are keen on same-day recipes. They also have a large selection of European, Russian, Polish, Middle-Eastern, and Jewish foods (fresh and frozen). The market always has apples of almost every variety, seasonal products, fresh breads and challah, and plenty of standard groceries as well. Fingers crossed for a bountiful 2026. If you're debating stopping by, let this be your encouragement.

A evening farmer's market on a weekday? What a dream come true…read more In my opinion, nothing beats a South Bay farmer's market. This one is in the beautiful downtown Los Altos - with a huge variety of ready-made food and produce stands selling gorgeous seasonal produce (part of our haul - fresh mulberries, which I had never seen before, the largest figs EVER, and fresh sugar snap peas). All the vendors are extremely friendly and it just makes me warm and happy to meet the actual face of the products :)

If you get lucky, there may be a live music performance or somebody busking which adds to the delightful, carefree, relaxing atmosphere. Well, "relaxing" might be an overreach, but it was to me. I love the feeling of a community coming together and showing their best side. A ton of young people gathering with high school friends and college mates in lively chatter alongside aging adults grabbing a novel bite to eat of so many different kinds of food... Italian pizza or kettle corn or gluten-free, Mexican cuisine or Thai skewers freshly grilled. And addition to the abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables, You can also find fun culinary things to buy like exotic spices, premixed ramen broth concentrate to take home and prep, premade, gluten-free noodles, and several bakeries, displaying sweet treats and crusty exotic breads. Everyone seemed cheerful, and there were several vendors passing out yummy free samples to try!

wonderful, excellent place to do grocery shopping, high quality products, kind and caring owners,…read moremanagers and employees. The new owners lift the quality of the store enormously. I don't need to do shopping at Whole Foods any more. Grocery outlet offers almost all those products I need with much better prices. I realized the new owners listen to customers' suggestions and really communicate with customers and improve when improvement is needed. The managers are caring and kind. Mr. Junior even brought a cart from outside for me when he realized I had too many items in my hand since I assumed I didn't need a cart but then I had picked up more items than I assumed. He is very kind, helpful, friendly and caring. I saw last week how Mr. junior brought the new item for a lady who dropped one of her items on the floor in the parking lot and when Mr. Junior saw that , he brought her another one instead of broken one. I call this "Whole Foods attitude", excellent attitude. Mr. John also is very kind and caring and polite. he has been at this store for years and always so helpful. this store even bring Pasture raised eggs which is wonderful. and on top of all they have wonderful prices. I give 5 stars to 1) new owners 2) management 3) quality and variety of products 4) prices

I would say the staff is great, and the bargains are good. Regarding the staff, Maria has been here for years and is a great asset to the store and so is the store manager , his name slips me now, however he has been here a long time as well. You can find some good prices, you just have to be smart. Always look at the expiration dates as well as the pricing. On some items the pricing is much better than other supermarkets. Then there are those items, well they are about the same price as your others. Just shop smart. Ok, you may hear tune " Grocery Outlet Bargain Market " playing over and over again in your head, you are not delusional, it's probably the recording in the store ;-) Lol All kidding aside, they do play these recording.." Hey SIr, yeah you in the produce isle" And I was like.."Wow they must be talking to me" :-) And then the Grocery Outlet Bargains start playing ;-) Come on really, you think I am that gullible?! Ha ;-) I guess so!!

But it was invisible to me. Until today, anyway. I am so happy I finally found it. Because Gourmet Works is much more than a store that sells candy and chocolate. In fact, as the name would suggest, it's more of a Gourmet food store and Gift Shop than a Chocolate Shop. But it's also a hella cool chocolate shop and that's the main reason I will be sure to return. Right when you walk in the door you are surrounded by an astonishingly large variety of items that would make the perfect gift for a loved one, or for yourself. Because, I ain't gonna lie, there were at least a dozen items that I considered buying for myself. I thought to myself, you know, I do so much for me, and it seems I rarely properly thank myself for my devoted patronage and self care. If you are interested in high quality gourmet gifts, Gourmet Works is definitely the place to go! They carry so many products you would be hard pressed to find elsewhere. Gourmet Salts, Dried Herbs, Pasta Sauces, Dried Pasta, Curry Sauces, Masala Simmer Sauce, Special Preserves and Jams. An impressive, well-curated selection. Then, at the back of the store you find the kind of Chocolate display case that dreams are made of. Oh my Lord! Just the Truffle side alone would be enough to melt anyone's heart. But the other side, with the astonishing variety of hand dipped chocolates is where I lost it. I saw the Almond Bark and stopped dead in my tracks. I stared at that Almond Bark. The Almond Bark stared back at me. We were locked into that stare down for what seemed like an eternity. I was sure neither of us would ever give in. But then I blinked. Somehow I became aware that the wonderful woman behind the counter was asking me if she could help me. As I regained my senses, suddenly I felt so embarrassed. How long had I been staring at that Almond Bark? How many times had she tried to get my attention? I had no idea. I tried to play it off like there was nothing going on between me and that Almond Bark. I casually inquired about some Chocolate Covered Caramels with Sea Salt on a totally different shelf in the display case. Then, of course, I had to buy a couple of those Chocolate Covered Carmels with Sea Salt, to cover up the whole situation with me and the Almond Bark. I purchased a couple ordinary, un-chocolate covered Caramels with Sea Salt too. The woman behind the counter couldn't have been more gracious. She didn't let on that she knew exactly what was happening and I wasn't fooling anyone with the whole Chocolate Covered Caramels with Sea Salt charade. So, my thanks to Gourmet Works, and the gracious woman behind the counter, Padmaja (her family owns Gourmet Works). It was such a pleasure to shop at your wonderful store! Mikey C says: I'm coming back for you, Almond Bark!
