It took us awhile to write this review because there are no words to describe our love or to express our thanks for The Garrison and for Annie Rozycki. Our wedding was PERFECTION and far surpassed anything we ever imagined it would be. To begin, working with Annie was one of the reasons we loved The Garrison so much and quite honestly, one of the reasons why we booked it. Annie was calm, organized, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable, and we knew we would be in good hands working with her. Annie is able to work with any type of bride, even the most intense and neurotic (like myself) and make their wedding visions come to life. She is responsive and on top of everything that needs to be done and makes the entire wedding planning process seamless. The venue itself possesses beauty that we didn't find anywhere else on our wedding venue search, and we looked EVERYWHERE. The clean, crisp, and minimalist decor is a perfect complement to the beauty of the Hudson Valley. The food at The Garrison was amazing and this was something we were looking for in a venue. The Garrison offers farm-to-table cuisine, and focuses on quality over quantity. Annie and the chef also worked together to ensure that all dietary restrictions of my family would be met, including eliminating pork from the menu completely, and meeting my father's extreme vegan diet. We feel so lucky to have found this incredible venue and to have had a wedding that was a little bit different from traditional NYC and Long Island venues. Our guests continue to rave about our wedding and about the beauty of The Garrison. We hope to continue to visit The Garrison for years to come and dine in the restaurant or stay at the hotel. read more

I had my wedding at The Garrison, and could not have been happier with our experience. It was the best day of our lives, and the venue had much to do with that! I had my wedding at The Garrison in October 2013 and it was the most beautiful event. I couldnt have picked a better place to get married. Annie Roznicki was my wedding planner and she was helpful the entire way through. On the day she was organized and executed everything the way I wanted. The venue itself is gorgeous and guests complimented me many times throughout the night and after on how great the wedding was. On September 17, 2016 we had our wedding at The Garrison, and I honestly can not think of having it any where else. From Todd (our day of wedding planner) to the staff the night of the event, the view, and the weather everything was absolutely perfect!! I remember coming down stairs the morning of the event (was getting my hair and make-up done in the on site bridal suite) and thinking, this is exactly how I wanted it to be. Every detail at the Garrison made our day extra special. I will give an extra special "Thank You" to Todd Smith. I believe he just might be the worlds best wedding planner. We were a little bit of a unique couple as we planned our wedding at the Garrison from Los Angeles, CA. When we first started, I was very concerned that the time change and distance would make this process difficult. However, Todd made the process seamless. From recommending local vendors, to detailed communication, and logistics help; Todd was accommodating, thoughtful and so very helpful! We went with every vendor recommendation he made and we were not at all disappointed. In fact, the whole event was perfect! If you are considering The Garrison for your event, look no further, this place is the best. Have your wedding here, and stay over the night before. From moment one of booking this place (with Todd Smith) we received nothing but first class, on hand knowledgeable service. Nothing was left to chance, every detail was covered and it was the most stress free day of our lives. Once you book you get a list of all of the vendors they commonly deal with, and everyone that I dealt with was wonderful, with the exception of Hotel Sierra ( I hope you're reading this Garrison). The wedding planner was absolutely exceptional and was there for us through the entire process (planning to reception), as was the entire staff from the Spa and The Garrison Hotel. There was nothing to worry about and I couldn't have asked for more. The day before, get a massage for all of your bridesmaids, along with mani/pedis, and while you're at it the day of the wedding wake up and get all of your hair and makeup done on site. Stop by the proshop before you get all done up for a great lunch, that is if you plan on eating on your wedding day, which I did b/c you don't want to see me hungry=mad! The food at the reception was amazing, you can NOT beat the views! Take a golf cart around the grounds to take your wedding pictures, I just really can't say enough about everyone that works there and the simple beauty of the building, facilities and location. read more

We recently had our wedding at The Garrison and I have to say it was an absolutely wonderful experience. Besides the fact that the views are unreal, the recent construction is so beautiful. We booked The Garrison while it was still under construction and it was amazing, and after it was finished it is on a whole other level. The floor to ceiling glass windows really show off the view and the cocktail hour room is such a great addition. Aside from the amazing view, everyone we came in contact was really the best, from the wedding coordinator Annie, to the waitstaff the day of our wedding. Anything we needed they were there and genuinely happy to help. Also, the food. Oh my. It far exceeded our expectations. With wedding venues that have to push out 100+ dinners you can sometimes get dried out meals, but our food was so tasty and perfectly cooked. I could really go on and on because I seriously cannot imagine a better place to get married. PS. I agree with a previous post, if you get married here (and you seriously should) definitely use their recommended vendors, everyone we dealt with was fantastic. read more

Celebrated my birthday at brunch yesterday on the deck. The food, service and views were spectacular!

As the Father of a bride who told me afterwards that I "gave her her dream wedding", I have to start with The Garrison and our Event Manager, Todd Smith--and give great credit to both for making our night one to remember for the rest of our lives. From the first time we visited the venue, and were inspired by the gorgeous views and scenery, the beauty and charm of the two large and complementary rooms that provide the "stage" to set the wedding, and Todd's vision, enthusiasm, "know-how" and demonstrable organizational skills--we (my wife, my daughter, and my now son-in-law, as well as his parents) all knew instinctively that this was the right place for us. Now, in the wake of a weekend that exceeded all of our individual and collective expectations, I can confirm that we made the right decision. There is nothing that I would change if I could. Even though it wasn't warm enough to hold the ceremony in the outdoor area that overlooks perhaps the most beautiful part of the Hudson, it didn't matter one whit. We got the photos we wanted outside, and the indoor setting was just as spectacular. Todd was great in instructing all of us in the Wedding Party as to how the processional would work and how to handle our "parts". Then, almost within seconds of the conclusion of the ceremony, Todd's "troops" cleared the area, and the cocktail hour--replete with unbelievably delicious hor d'ouerves that received rave reviews--kicked off. From there the evening moved smoothly for the next 5 hours--with Todd at the helm. The flowers -- from a vendor recommended by The Garrison -- were just right, and were priced fairly and appropriately. The dinner entrees and the wedding cake (which is included in the price charged) were all terrific. In conclusion, if you are getting married--or are a parent throwing a wedding for a child--then you would do well to not only consider The Garrison, but to get in touch with Todd and set up a visit. You won't regret it. It was one of the best decisions that my family (and our new in-laws) and I ever made. read more

My son and now daughter-in-law celebration their wedding here last week, the venue, the food the weather all so great, I know the weather was another department. Vin- excellent food! Of course everyone was raving over the dishes. The staff at the garrison couldn't have been more friendly and attentive. a nice course to play, decently maintained with many elevation changes. the view on the clubhouse holes of michie stadium/west point and the hudson valley are great. beautiful course to play when foliage is changing. and wow! last tuesday was infested with ladybugs!!!!!!! crazy sh*t!!!! all in all definitely worth playing at least once, but not worth going out of your way to play. good course, not great. i'll be back again. read more

We had our wedding at The Garrison in July 2016 and it was all-around amazing. Incredible ceremony space with Hudson River views, exceptional food (a far cry from "wedding food"), renovated/clean interior with floor to ceiling windows, and top-notch service. We worked with Todd Smith, one of two wedding coordinators at The Garrison. Todd was responsive, organized, imaginative, and decisive. As our wedding was in the evening, my now-husband and his groomsmen were able to get in a round of golf at The Garrison in the morning, which was a great way to kick off the day. Our wedding day went off without a hitch thanks to The Garrisons's excellent staff. We just got the photos from our photographer and they are gorgeous! A month later, I am still receiving compliments about how wonderful everything was on our wedding day. The Garrison is truly the total package. read more

We knew we wanted to get married at The Garrison after being at the venue for maybe 5 minutes - the views and the overall setup are incredible. We worked with Annie throughout the planning process - she replied quickly to emails/messages and was always readily available to answer questions (no matter how silly/small) and offer advice. She knows the venue inside and out and was able to make every single one of our ideas work. The day before the wedding, we dropped off our boxes and boxes of decorations, favors, photos, etc... and I was legitimately blown away when I walked downstairs the next afternoon to see how everything was put together - it honestly looked better than I had pictured it in my head. I completely trusted Annie and her staff and am so glad I did - they did not disappoint AT ALL. I cannot recommend this venue and Annie enough - my family/bridal party is still talking about how on top of everything she was - there wasn't one hiccup or one moment where I was at all worried/concerned about anything other than the fact that I was getting married all day. If you are considering the venue, absolutely book it - you will not regret it. read more

I think that this is a challenging course that has some spectacular views and could use some tlc on certain tee boxes. What I didn't like about the course is that on a Saturday morning (8:30 am) we were behind two foursomes that should not have been playing this course! There were 3 GROUPS waiting on the second tee! I called the pro shop to see if this is normal and they said they would send someone out - of course this never happened and we continue to watch the groups in front of us MIS EVERY FAIRWAY and take 5-6 shots to make it to the green. We left after 15 holes as 5 hours was too long for us to make it to the 16th tee (which was backed up). The course doesn't seem to care because these players are regulars so my foursome didn't matter. Will NEVER go back. read more

My husband and I got married at The Garrison this past Sept 14th and have nothing but wonderful things to say about this venue. To start, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The event specialist was there to help me throughout my entire year long engagement and took care of everything the day of my wedding, I had to worry about nothing. The food there is to die for and everyone who attended our wedding is still talking about how amazing our dishes were. The location overlooks the Hudson River and has spectacular views that are great backgrounds for your wedding pictures, not to mention the venue itself in beautiful. Worth every penny! read more

The service was non existent, yet there were only three tables. The portions should have been served with a magnifying glass, yet were $30+ per. The chef obviously thinks he's in NYC. They should pair with the Roundhouse in Beacon. Same thing. An embarrassment. read more

Annie at the Garrison is amazing! I wish we started with her from the beginning. We originally started with Todd but he was let go 3 weeks before our wedding. Probably sounds stressful considering your wedding coordinator basically disappeared right before your wedding, but Annie assured us that everything would go according to plan and she had reviewed all of Todd's notes and spoke to us over the phone to make sure everything was what we wanted. I can't speak about Annie's planning process, but Todd asked us about every little detail starting from where to sit the parents to what table cloths would go with the flowers. Annie was on point the day of the wedding. There were a couple of hiccups with the DJ but she handled everything behind the scenes and we didn't even know! She calmed us down before our entrance/choreographed dance and truly was wonderful/nice. As if Annie wasn't enough, the venue is just perfect. Beautiful backdrop and amazing food. They even personalized our own dinner meals by letting us order something different from the menu. A couple of items to note though 1. the upstairs of the inn is very small if you are looking to get ready there. it was sufficient for my wife but she's not very picky, but i wish they would let them use the salon/empty space downstairs if it's not in use (which it wasn't on the day of our wedding) 2. they don't have much leeway on pricing/freebies - there's no tasting that most weddings provide, they didn't even give us a free lunch just to taste an entree or two which was kind of disappointing because i feel like that's a normal experience as part of a wedding. We just had to go with the reviews of the food and for wedding food, i thought it was pretty damn good. 3. watch out for west point and vassar college graduations! there's not many hotels near by and the graduations take up most of the hotel spaces and/or all the hotels raise their prices which was unfortunate for our guests! read more

Where to begin! From the moment that we walked into The Garrison and saw the view out those huge windows, we knew we had found the right place. Our daughter and son-in-law's wedding at the very peak of the autumn fall show in October at The Garrison was perfect in every way! The entire staff was so incredibly attentive, the food delicious and perfectly prepared and the million-dollar view - unbelievable! The setting sunlight came shining in on the bride and groom just as they took their first dance. It was in a word, magical! It couldn't have been better. Many of our guests took beautiful pictures of the rolling hills, trees in full color, the Hudson River off in the distance and that amazing sunset. Spectacular! We received many compliments from our guests as well; some saying it was a perfect setting, with some commenting that it was one of the best weddings they ever attended! The Garrison, is just a really beautiful place, tasteful, classy and laid out with plenty of room. Todd Smith, our event planner, was so easy to work with, always returned emails and phone calls promptly and really made the whole process fun. For us, with only one child, we wanted this once in a lifetime event to be very special and The Garrison delivered on every level. We very much appreciated Todd's keen sense of detail in making sure everything worked out just right. We cannot say enough good things about the whole experience from start to finish, and would strongly recommend The Garrison to anyone looking for that beautiful, natural setting for their special event. We have and will continue to make The Garrison a destination for a delicious lunch or dinner and enjoy the spacious views.
