This place is beautiful. Renovated and reopened, it's a modern take on an old inn with so much history in the Hudson Valley and NYC. The cocktails are superb - probably my favorite thing about B&B. Everything we have eaten here has been wonderful. Sit outside when the weather is nice (although no reservations on the patio) - it's shaded and has beautiful lighting and a lovely little foot bridge. So the plan was to meet our son and daughter in law here for a HV restaurant week dinner Friday evening since it's conveniently located about halfway between our homes. Problem is I didn't read the fine print of their restaurant week menu that said They don't participate on Fridays or Saturdays. Totally my fault. The outcome however was still a spectacular experience and meal. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They have a nice wine list and good bourbon options and some very creative cocktails. The restaurant itself is such a cool place since it's so old and historic. The floor boards creak and moan every time someone walks past your table but it adds to the ambiance. The food is divine. We opted for fried Heritage Pork Belly with burnt onion sauce, pickled shallots for an appetizer. Oh my this was unctuous and tender. So good. I chose the daily special Duck Breast and my wife the special short ribs. Both were flat out amazing but the short ribs melted in your mouth. Dessert was an Apple Crostata with vanilla ice cream and granola crumble. Divine. This is not a cheap place, dinner is expensive but wow it was worth it. We will be eating there again. read more

As someone who absolutely loves small towns, this location was the most ideal for me. This restaurant and inn is located in the cutest house surrounded by lush greenery and a beautiful creek beside it. Although I haven't had the chance to stay at the inn (and definitely plan to come back), I can definitely vouch for the restaurant. I came here with my best friend and we weren't too hungry but felt "peckish", so we decided to try some of their smaller dishes. We tried the roasted mushroom flatbread, local cheese plate, winter chopped salad with chicken, truffle fries, and a side of brussel sprouts. They even brought us some house pop-over breads and butter that were so good, we asked for seconds. To end off the meal, we tried a selection of their homemade gelatos. All the flavors were delicious, but what really stole the show was the company and the location. It's the kind of restaurant where you can just relax and unwind with your favorite people. My girlfriend brought me here for my birthday. We had a reservation for 2:15. We arrived at 2:15 and looked over the drink menu for a few minutes and then ordered drinks with the waitress. By 2:24 the waitress came to take our order. We asked for one more min to look over the food menu. She told us no and said we had to order quickly before the kitchen closed. Their website says brunch til 3. There were options(provided by the restaurant) for reservations at 2:15 and 2:30. We chose 2:15 to not be rushed and to not be the "last people arriving". The food was good, and the restaurant is beautiful. However, our server was rude and we felt unnecessarily rushed from the time we sat down to the time we left. read more

Wow, I expected so much more. We started with two of the worst Bloody Mary's, ever! No seasonings, tasted like tomato juice and tons of horseradish. I then had a Cesar salad that was a bit wilted and room temperature, flavorless. The Pork Belly tasted okay but not served hot, room temperature. The Short-rib Hash was cold, nothing was hot about this limp dish and the potatoes were hard as a rock and tasted old. 3 slices of toast came with dish, only one slice was toasted. I ordered eggs over-hard, they were burnt and cold. The Eggs Benedict was not hot, room-temperature, the salad had no dressing on it. Our server was nice, however seemed busy and frazzled. I went to the Bird & Bottle once over the summer for dinner, and we were able to sit outside. More recently, I went for brunch and it was pouring rain, so inside we were! The summer dinner we had was wonderful. The food was delicious and the ingredients super fresh. I had the burrata salad, and a friend had the cheeseburger with fries. Another person had what I remember to be chicken or fish with greens over it; I think it was a special, because I don't see it on the menu now. Everyone raved about what they had. When we went more recently for brunch, I think we all had eggs benedict. Perfectly cooked, light hollandaise (it can overwhelm when it's too heavy), great coffee. Our server was nice and attentive, and she had folks who helped deliver our food, as it was a bit crowded. There was a large group at brunch near us, and they were having a good time (awesome!), but the acoustics in that room meant it was hard for us to hear each other over their celebration. Just something to know about timing! After we ate, on both occasions, we walked around the first floor. There's a beautiful, comfortable sitting room and a really old-school bar in the back. What a complete gem of a restaurant. From the minute you walk-in, and are greeted by the host, to your exceptional meal to the cozy and warm ambiance? The Bird & Bottle Inn hits all the high notes! I started off with the black margarita, which was soooo very easy to drink. It's so rare to find black currant forward cocktails! Food-wise, we shared the mushroom flatbread (yum), the Korean bbq wings (shockingly good) and I was obsessed with my entree -- the wild boar and local beef bolognese is a must-order item. Though, I think their menu is seasonal, so you'll have to visit in the winter (I was there in December). For dessert, I shared the hazelnut chocolate tart with my partner, which was the perfect cap and ending to our meal. My friends live nearby and they consider this spot to be one of their go-to's and I can see why! read more

I'm so happy they reopened! We had a very nice family dinner with outstanding service and a very cozy table in the main dining room. We had the burrata, squash blossoms, mussels, and polenta. We also had the cod special, caesar salad with chicken, tagliatelle, and a veggie burger. I had an IPA on tap and sour IPA on tap. Someone else had a Pomegrazzle and really enjoyed it. Truffle fries were also a hit and devoured. Dessert consisted of cheesecake, a chocolate chip cookie with ice cream, and a coconut tart. Everyone loved their desserts. This is a very special place and the new owners have made it even better than it was before. Although our server had to leave before we were done, we had a great conversation and she made sure the transition to someone else was comprehensive. Really nice job there. I was so happy when this beautiful place opened again (in 2022) after being sold and renovated. I hoped it would be as lovely as I remembered it and it was 100 times better! The renovations are excellent, the staff is incredible, and the food was undoubtedly the best I've had in any restaurant in a long time! Loved all the decor upgrades from the entry hall wallpaper, the very comfortable, intimate and beautiful settees (velvet tufted top and leather bottom) and the interesting dinnerware. Our feast was fresh, crisp and delicious - perfect Fall menu. Started with the Plum Margarita, squash flatbread and chopped salad. Followed by a reasonable bottle of Pinot Noir and Berkshire pork chops, roasted carrots, chocolate cherry ganache tart. Equally impressive was the outstanding service provided by Hector and the entire staff. We made a reservation for 8:30 p.m., which is a bit later than what we had wanted but it was one of the first time slots available. We were running a few minutes late and gave the restaurant a call as soon as we had cell service to let them know. An employee named Alexa answered the phone and shared that the kitchen was going to be closing at 9 p.m. She said that we could still come in if we wanted but 'we needed to remember that they would be closing at 9 when ordering' - which was repeated multiple times. My fiancé and I have both worked in the service industry and completely understand when it's slower the kitchen can close early. However, we had just made the reservation earlier that day and there were reservations offered through 9 p.m., with all of the websites listing a 10 p.m. closure. Given that this is one of the only restaurants in the area it was disappointing to have this happen, especially with the rude way the information was delivered to guests who had made a reservation. We didn't want to feel rushed or unwanted by the staff so we chose to drive to Beacon to have dinner instead. Best of luck to those that actually get seated here- avoid later reservations so you don't end up in our shoes! read more

We've been here twice since they reopened and had two vastly different experiences. Dinner in the summertime was great. We had drinks at the small and cute bar inside, then sat out in the patio. Food was great and it was a very lively atmosphere. Second time was for brunch in the fall. Every table's orders was delayed for at least 30 min if not more, and they had run out of some items. Thankfully it was a beautiful day so most people didn't mind, but they were seriously understaffed. The food was amazing when it came out but the meal definitely took twice as long as it needed to be. Overall, would go back and maybe the indoor service will be better organized in the winter, with fewer crowds. Aside from the staffing kinks, it's a very charming, historical place that I would recommend if you are in the area. read more

My husband and I went to the bird and bottle inn tonight feeling nostalgic because it was a place my husband's mother and father used to go ...we heard it was newly furnished and revamped and wanted to give it a chance , when we got there we were offered to sit outside or inside ...we chose to sit inside and were the only people in side you think we would've gotten a lot of special attention ...my husband ordered the boneless ribeye medium temperature, it came with a chimichurri sauce and roasted cherry tomatoes with truffle fries with aïoli and herbs ... I ordered the regular burger caramelized onions with hole poked cheddar and the truffle fries (an up charge ) we also ordered a very expensive bottle of rosé Champagne ...my burger was good although I ordered medium well and got a medium ... it was still delicious I shared it with my husband being that he did not like his ribeye ribeye.. reason being my husband ordered medium temperature on his ribeye , and it was cold when he got it and so were his fries he tried to eat it as I know my husband always has the best intentions at heart... A young lady kept coming back to our table to see if we're OK I thought it was the hostess turns out it was the general manager... now with that said .. Because my husband is visually impaired he knocked over his champagne glass... the general manager/hostess came over and took care of the mess right away... but from then on it went downhill my husband did not eat his ribeye he told the waitress he took maybe two bites and a few fries because most of them were welded together because of the oil which were not properly drained ... they took his plate back , took my plate and offered a free glass of Prosecco for just my husband... (kind but small gesture) our champagne was expensive the most expensive one on the menu !! And then and they gave us dessert menus ...we declined on the dessert but ordered a espresso /cappuccino martini which had curdled ingredients because you could see it floating at the top !!! I used to be a bartender myself and know exactly what it looks like (ugggh smh ) when we got our bill finally by asking after a long wait , The general manager/hostess gave us the bill ... after my husband reviewed the bill we noticed they did not reimburse us for anything !! being the general manager was looking in on us A proper GM should've at least taken off our after dinner drinks ... or something you'de think But nope!! And my husband even asked her why didn't you takeoff my un eaten meal (ribeye ) That I didn't eat it ? she said "well the chef said it was cooked to temperature and he believes it was all good " so she took his words (the chefs) over my husbands Are you kidding me !!! I mean seriously ????!!! Is still existing that " the customer comes first ??? " Well certainly not is this case ... this newly revised BIRD AND BOTTLE INN is a one and done ! what a shame , what a big disappointment.... Especially since we were Periodically checked out by the general manager one would think being the only ones eating inside As well we would've had special attention a big no go there!! she refused to take anything off our bill she refused to compensate us for anything with a very passive aggressive attitude .... I took my husband here the other day to celebrate his birthday and we absolutely LOVED it. The waitstaff are TERRIFIC. The food is fantastic (we got the tuna tartare appetizer and both got the salmon, and it was all delicious). He didn't love his cocktail (I forget what it was called, but it had a licorice-ish liqueur), and I enjoyed but didn't love mine (can't remember the name for this one either, but it had egg white). This place is absolutely gorgeous, and the details of the decor are super cool. The host also walked us around the bar and outdoor area and told us about the cool history of the place. This was our first (and without hesitation - will not be our last) meal at the Bird and Bottle Inn. The staff was friendly and the meal simply perfect. We started off with the tuna tartare and the burrata, which was served with peas, mint, radish, prosciutto, allium pesto and grilled bread. Both were wonderful. For dinner, we decided on scallops served with beluga lentils, bacon. snap peas, apple & celery root slaw and crispy shallot and the duck pappardelle. The braised duck ragu with the fresh in-house made pappardelle was the biggest surprise. It was served with a dusting of bitter chocolate, orange dust, soft herbs and pecorino. The flavor profile was out of this world. All the food came out at the proper temperature and the meal was not rushed. Our server, Hector, was friendly and attentive.
