I also utilize the exercise equipment and the pool and hot tub. With that said, the place could use some updating. I am not saying it is bad, just that other gymnasiums have better equipment. But for the price Flagstaff charges to use the Aquaplex, it is a wonderful place. There are exercise classes that are run by great teachers. Really feel welcome and all levels seem to enjoy. I do not use the childcare but I do see that it is a great option for parents to have their kids in a safe place and get quality care for their children. I don't know what it cost (I'm sure you can call the Aquaplex and find out the cost) but there are a lot of people that use this service that it usually full when I'm in the place. I think it's great to have the kids in an exercise environment running around and swimming rather than have them looking at a screen. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. I find them a real pleasure to interact with. I have been able to ask questions and the staff and managers are quick to help. Parking is abundant and easy to get in and out of the Aquaplex. The Goelet A.C. Beuf Community Center is located on 35th Ave. & Pinnacle Peak Road. The indoor track is free to walk and is air conditioned - bonus for those walkers who dread the summer heat. Use of the gym is at a cost - I think around $60 for the year, so it's pretty inexpensive but the gym is pretty small. They offer a variety of fitness/dance classes, at a cost, including: aerobics, ballet, belly dance, kickboxing, pilates and yoga + many more. They also offer specialty education classes including: oil painting, computers and spanish. I have taken a few of the classes and they are pretty inexpensive and last for a few months at a time - either once or twice weekly. It seems that they offer a lot of classes and activities for kids and seniors as well. Other amenities include indoor basketball court, softball fields, soccer field, basketball and volleyball courts, playgrounds, and picnic areas. The center is always clean and the staff is incredibly helpful. If in or close to the neighborhood this is a great community center to have access to.
