The only reason I did stay here was because it was the only place in VOC or Sedona that had last-minute lodging available when I decided to take a trip up from Tucson. I called in advance to give a heads up that I would be checking in later, but before their window closes at 2100. When calling, I requested that this be reflected on my reservation and the male staff member I spoke with assured me this would not be an issue. While driving to Sedona, I get a call assuming I will be late and informed of an additional fee associated with late check in. I assure the incredibly rude female night staff that I will be on time, as I told to the day shift. When I did get there to check in, the same behavior occurred all throughout the check-in process that I feared my additional cleaning deposit would be kept as a retributive measure. Room 408 reeked upon entering, and was 90 degrees likely due to the AC being shut off after it was cleaned. If you don't have my particular brand of neuroses and bring room spray with you everywhere, I don't know how that could have been masked otherwise. It also took multiple hours to get to 70 degrees, all the while I am trying to sleep after having drove in late. If you're looking for somewhere to merely rest your head while in the area, Desert Quail Inn is fine. What I've written here is only a fraction of the negative experiences I had. But if you're looking for anything out of your hotel other than a bedbug free bed, stay anywhere else.

Property is old and run down, does not match the stars or reviews. Would not stay again.

Board games available but broken. Hot tub available but temperature adjustment doesn't work. 104 is a bit hot. Dusty blinds. Garbage not emptied. Dirty diaper left. No rules left in the house anywhere and no logins for TV apps. The good points were plenty of nice pillows in beds and linens seemed freshly cleaned. Blackout curtains were nice.

There was a juice cleanse retreat happening there at the time and we appeared to be the only guests not in the juice cleanse. Which just made things feel a bit awkward. I hate to say this because everyone was so nice and sweet but, the food is not good. We only had one breakfast during which our waitstaff was children (around 10 years old) and we only had one option: spinach omelette and cinnamon raisin toast. It was okay, but it's something I could make at home easily. The next morning we came back for breakfast and sat around for 20 minutes until someone came out and asked if we were there for breakfast. We told her we were and she said she didn't know but she could "whip something up". We took it as a sign to just go grab something local. Unfortunately I'm kind of bummed by our stay. For the price we could have stayed at L'Auberge and had true luxury and five start food. Keep in mind this is perfect as a wellness retreat or quiet and quaint for meditation. But I would not stay here for luxury by any means.
