I've been going to Fabio directly since I moved to Glen Ellyn in 2019, and he's always been more than accommodating and is just a really great guy. He will offer you ideas, suggestions and listens well to any requests you might have with an end result that will leave you positively speechless. If you're tired in the morning, he won't talk your ear off, but if you want to have a good conversation where one will actually reciprocate, he's going to be there like a neighbor that you've known for years. His new location is conveniently located in a strip mall right across the train tracks with ample parking, the decor/atmosphere inside has the cool hip but yet rustic 'grunge' that I feel like many guys can appreciate. Call to schedule an appointment the week of, to my knowledge he doesn't go beyond the 'week of' mark due to him being booked up fairly quickly. Despite his shop now moving further from me, I've been consistently loyal to him as he never disappoints. I have a big interview Friday, and my hair looked like three different haircuts. I called at 5:30 on Thursday evening, hoping to make a Friday appointment for my son, who has awesome, puffy, Colin Kaepernick afro-type hair going on, and I wanted to get it shaped and trimmed a little to make it look a little less wild. I was hoping, especially based on all the positive reviews, that Diverse Kuts would be the place to help me tame my little man's crazy mixed-race hair while still keeping it "puffy" the way my 4-year-old likes it. The phone rang quite a while, and I wondered if everyone had gone home, when finally someone picked up. It took me two times to try and explain that I was wanting to make an appointment for a haircut for Friday. The first time, the guy asked "What do you want?" and when he understood and asked what time, I said "How is 11:30?" His response (despite Yelp saying Diverse Kutz opens at 11am) was that "Oh, we're not open then. We don't get in until about 1:30." I suggested 2pm, then, and he asked what I was hoping to have done. I explained, and suddenly he says "Ok, hold on." He leaves and a woman gets on and says "Hello" like I'm interrupting her day. I ended up saying "You know what, never mind" and hanging up. I felt awkward before we even set foot in the place. I purchase the oway products from golden scissors and have never seen this line in any other salon.
