Stayed here with my bf for two nights. The breakfast from 830-1030 was good with tasty egg dishes that changed every morning. The location is convenient and easily 5-7ish mins from downtown Napa. Stayed here on our last trip to Napa. It was our first time staying here, but based on others reviews and the price was right, so we gave it a try. Sooooo glad we did! The rooms were nice and comfortable. The common spaces were relaxing as well, especially the outside seating. Each morning we were provided an amazing breakfast, eggs, frittata, bacon, sausage, potatoes, toast, bagels and lox... just to name a few, and of course with a morning mimosa and cup of coffee! We will be flagging this place for our future trips to Napa and if they are available will stay here again for sure! read more

Divine is the word to describe this gem of an inn. We were greeted with champagne. Illy coffee in the lobby. Stayed in the observatory room on the third floor-- majestic, modern and beautiful. Wow! I can't begin to tell you what a Great experience it was to stay here. I was looking for a beautiful place to surprise my husband for our 22nd anniversary and they did not disappoint. I booked the "executive studio suite " the house was a beautiful Victorian house that they fully renovated. So full of history, elegant, and charming . Every morning I woke up and I can smelled the amazing breakfast which is included in the stay . Linda was our host there . She prepared amazing homemade breakfast every morning. I'm talking about very detailed meals. It was THE BEST PART of our stay!!! I will definitely be coming back!!! The service was incredible, Tracy was there in the afternoon made sure everyone was accounted . We travel several times a year to Napa but never experienced such a wonderful stay !!! Breakfast is amazing, and the staff is super nice. Short walking distance from downtown. This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, over the years I have stayed in many hotels throughout the world both on business and for pleasure. So, why do I rate this hotel over everything else? First, we have location, a very pleasant quiet location a short pleasant walk from downtown Napa. On-site convenient complimentary parking. Novel remote check in system, you are given a unique digital check in code prior to arrival, no need to check out. The building is a perfectly restored victorian mansion, both spacious and very elegant with beautiful furnishing. Bedrooms are elegantly furnished with a very comfortable bed (including Comphy linen). The views from all windows are very pleasant, great trees and perfect landscaping. There is an outside seating area to drink wine/coffee/tea or just enjoy the location. Breakfast is a well stocked buffet with a hot egg dish. Best of all, the daily overnight rate for a hotel this perfect is very reasonable for this degree of luxury. So, now you know why I think this hotel is the best I have ever stayed in, perfect in fact. You may have noticed all my reviews to date on Yelp have been 5 star, this is deliberate. Life is too short to focus on that which does not make us happy. This is why I restrict my reviews to those things/places/services that make me happy and appreciate life. Sure, I have been to some really dreadful shops, hotels and restaurants etc., but, like I said, life is too short to spend time thinking and writing about them. read more

I want a bed as comfortable as the bed in Room 202 at the George. The George is a lovely little inn in Napa, close enough to the fun scene on Napa's First Street, but far enough away to provide a quiet, restful vibe. The room we had was nice. Big windows look out on beautiful shade trees. The windows are framed by thick blackout curtains if you want to sleep late. The George has been renovated - the updated bathroom is cute and the air conditioning is quiet and perfect - all while retaining the charm of a beautiful home built over a century ago. Had a lovely time staying at The George on a mother/daughter trip. Beautiful home, gracious staff and delicious breakfast. Also great location for walking to shops and restaurants. I'm still going to give a 5 star review even though the pullout couch was a shock. Considering the expensive renovation of this Victorian, it was disappointing to see how cheap and thin the mattress was. My daughter couldn't sleep on it, finally giving up and sharing the bed with me for the entire stay. The mattress is thin, doesn't hold its shape and she felt the metal springs. It shouldn't be advertised as a sleeping option and I can guarantee that the owners would never be able to sleep through the night on that mattress. read more

We were looking forward to our stay at the George, based on the pictures and reviews. The house is gorgeous both inside and out, and the rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The heated bathroom floors were the highlight for us! Hence, we thought we won the jackpot upon learning, via voicemail a few days prior to our arrival, that due to a group booking, they would have to upgrade to a suite on the 3rd floor. "Fabulous!", I exclaimed to my husband, as I relayed the message. I was, however, mildly concerned when, upon returning the call to reconfirm, that they cited "minimizing noise" as the reason for doing so. Turns out that the group that overlapped with our trip was here for a work retreat. They were up very early so we heard alarm clocks, slamming doors and showers starting before dawn. And throughout the night, there were all sorts of other disturbances, from plumbing to heating, that were not the soothing white kind that encourage sleep. Case in point: I woke up three times alone last night. In fact, I did not sleep through the night any of the nights during our stay (as someone who has enviable sleeping habits for someone my age.) Do I think the George has potential to offer a great option for folks and do I think others had a five-star experience? Absolutely. But would I stay here again if another group were? Definitely not. The group came for business--lucky for them!--but we did not (in fact, this was supposed to be a quiet, relaxing vacation). So, you can imagine the dynamics of staying in a place where all the other rooms are occupied by people who know each other and whose reasons for staying are diametrically opposed to yours. Further, we didn't have the same access to the shared spaces (the sitting room in front of the fireplace, for example) and, as a result, did not experience the same "at home-ness" they did. I understand that staff would focus their energies on the group's needs, but we felt slightly overlooked. For the record, I'm not blaming anyone, including The George staff nor the other guests, but perhaps this is a teachable moment for everyone. read more

We stayed here after Christmas and it beyond met our expectations. I'd always wanted to stay at a B&B but was nervous about the social/intimate setting while trying to enjoy our time on vacay. Well! The George was the best of all worlds- a warm welcome, space to relax, great breakfast and midnight snacks. Gosh I don't know what those little peanut butter bars were they put out at night but they were amazing. I was also concerned about the noise factor but it was totally fine. If you're in Napa for a weekend - stay here! you won't regret it :) Stayed here earlier in the year to celebrate a bachelorette, and we were well taken care of. The host was SO nice, welcoming and accommodating (I believe her name is Malia). We were pretty much offered mimosas around the clock, which was nice, considering NO other hotels/resorts in Napa were offering any extra perks! Anyway, the place is beautiful, clean, and upgraded. The outdoor patio area is very well kept and cute. ALSO, there is a personal chef there each morning to make you breakfast... anything you want :) This place is worth every penny. Wonderful experience at this lovely restored and renovated Historical Inn. The detailed mix of the historical space with the contemporary interiors was classy and well done. This place is a hidden gem. My wife and I spent three nights at the George for a weekend getaway. We looked at other hotels, but we found this bed and breakfast in our search. This Victorian home is over 100 years old, but Patty, the owner, has spent many years remodeling this place to become an amazing boutique home for guests to stay. When we first arrived, we were greeted with champagne from Malia, the host of the house. She welcomed us and made us feel like we were family the whole time. Malia was able to give us recommendations for restaurants and shops to visit while we were there. Don't hesitate to have her help you plan your next vacation! We stayed on the third level, and the room was better than any hotel room I've stayed in. From keyless doors to high-quality furniture, we felt like we were right at home. My wife couldn't stop raving about how soft the sheets were on the bed. The bathroom even had heated floors! Every detail in the room was very well thought out. Our favorite part during our stay was the breakfast. Malia introduced us to the English muffins that they order from Model Bakery every morning. They are to die for! Also, if you stay at the George on the weekends, they have a private chef that comes to make eggs benedict and french toast. Yum! If you're looking for a relaxing home near downtown Napa, you HAVE to book a room at the George. We will for sure be coming back to stay here, and we can't wait to visit when the speakeasy on the lower level is finished. I'm not even sure where to start but everything about the George is pure class and luxury. We won't be able to stay anywhere else without wishing we were at the George instead. From the moment we walked in the front door and were warmly greeted with champagne and hors d'oeuvres, we felt welcomed and taken care of by the staff. Our room on the third floor felt so private and had every luxury that we could have wanted--the most comfortable bed, a gorgeous seating area by the window, a wet bar with wine fridge, and heated floors. Breakfast each morning was outstanding with great coffee and mimosas. There was a different spread of hot and cold breakfast dishes each day we were there. My husband and I follow a gluten free/plant based lifestyle and were served the most beautiful, delicious breakfasts by the chef. We were very impressed and appreciative for the dietary accommodations. Staying at the George was an experience all on its own--set in a gorgeous neighborhood just walking distance to a great farmers market, Oxbow Public Market, shops, and dining. I thought visiting a few wineries around Napa would be the best part of our trip but staying at The George was by far my favorite. I can't wait to come back. STAY HERE NOW! It's a beautiful, restored historic house (with modern amenities) staffed by the incredible Malia and Kim in a perfect location. I checked in, had a great day in Napa, went to bed, and woke up in heaven. At least that's what I thought when I opened my eyes to light streaming through a stained glass window. During breakfast, Malia and Kim told me about the house and the best sights to see in Napa. Wish I could move in. The rooms are so beautifully appointed. The linens and the towels are the best quality. The double shower heads in our suite were such a treat. The staff could not be more pleasant and welcoming and the English muffins that were served for breakfast came from a local bakery and were probably worth going into town for to take something back home. The decor has been updated, yet you never feel it lost the character or charm of the original. Stayed at The George for a few days to celebrate our anniversary. Last month when I was in Napa with some girlfriends, we drove by and noticed this beautiful newly remodeled building. Looked it up amd saw that is was opening up soon. So, when the Hubby and I decided on Napa as out destination to celebrate our Anniversary I had to book our stay at The George. Turned out to be a great choice. Patty, the Owner was the sweetest. She greeted us at our arrival with a bottle of champagne to help us celebrate our anniversary. She helped us make reservations at Castillo de Amorosa (hooked us up) and made sure we were good our entire stay. Love what was done to The Geroge, I think it looks great. Updated, Modern with enough vintage to remind you that there is history there. The George was recently opened again. Apparently the building had been damaged during the earthquake that hit Napa a few years back. Overall, I think it was done right. Beautiful kitchen. Lovely sitting areas inside. Nice colorful bright area to enjoy your breakfast/brunch or late night snack if you don't want to eat in your room. There is also several sitting areas outside to enjoy a good book or simply lounge. The continental bar we enjoyed during the week had a great variety of pastries, fruits, yogurts, organic hardboiled eggs & drinks. Thr English muffin was delicious according to my Hubby. Believe it was from The Model Bakery if I am not mistaken. I enjoyed the eggs, fruit & coffee. She had non-dairy creamer, score! We stayed in the Master Suite. Suite is beautifully styled. Suite has a sitting area with several small side tables next to its fire place, beautiful California King bed with the softest pillows you will just sink into and a wet bar with a fridge to keep your drinks and food chilled. Coffee bar as well. In the closet you will find Robes and slippers to use during your stay, they came in handy. The bathroom has a huge double rain shower and heated floors! Loved the heated floors. Take it from someone who gets up at night often this little upgrade was just perfect. Plus the room has a huge Smart TV which you can see from any where in the room. We were able to log into our Hulu & Netflix accounts. I know that on the website it warns you about thin walls but we didn't hear much. There were 3 or 4 other parties staying while we were there and noise wasn't a issue. Did I mention it was close to downtown, a few blocks away. Walking distance, for sure. Definitely recommend you stay at The George next time you plan to visit Napa Valley. I know I will definitely be staying there again. read more

Beautiful historic building, recently renovated, just walking blocks from dining and shopping in downtown Napa. We had the pleasure of staying at The George for mother's day eve. This beautifully restored boutique hotel exceeded our expectations. Located on a residential street within walking distance to downtown Napa, The George did an excellent job combining 19th century design with modern amenities. The covid precautionary self keyless check in felt a little unusual but we were immediately greeted by the warmth and beauty of the foyer and living room. There was wine available in the well appointed kitchen and the dining area was stocked with water, sodas AND chocolate. We booked a suite on the 3rd floor and a room on the 2nd floor; both were spacious and carefully curated with tasteful decor, soft linens, Molton Brown toiletries and the most comfortable bed for a deep slumber. Our hostess Malia was very attentive to our needs days before and during our stay. The pride of ownership is evident after meeting Patty, the owner. If you are looking for a more intimate and distinct accommodation in Napa, book The George. My only complain is, I wish I could have stayed longer. read more

Wow wow wow! Pristine ! The attention to detail is impeccable. This place is absolutely gorgeous ! The location is also great. We walked to downtown Napa for dinner and wine tasting rooms. Malia was SO extremely helpful during our stay (she mapped at all of our wine tastings and meals). The owner is also lovely and takes great pride in this house. She was even sweeping the front porch on Sunday morning! This is a family owned business and they are all so hard-working & humble. What a wonderful family!! We even got to meet little George - who is a doll and quite hysterical. Chefs eggs Benedict was to die for and well appreciative after a solid day of wine tasting the day before! The renovations and attention to detail of this historic landmark property surpassed our expectations. The Theodorides family took a dilapidated Victorian and transformed it into one of the shining jewels of Napa. We have stayed at many BnB's across the country and Europe, and The George ranks at the top of our list. We spent two nights at this beautiful newly renovated hotel and could not recommend it enough! From the gorgeous decor to the plush linens if felt like a luxurious hotel but also like home. It's location is walking distance to tasting rooms and all that downtown Napa has to offer, although I almost didn't want to leave the comfort of the room! For wineries, the team at the George gave incredible recommendations and I loved everywhere they sent us. (Say you're staying at George while at these wineries and people get pretty excited) this is the perfect addition to the Napa area and the only place I want to stay when I absolutely return.
