    Crab cake Benedict
    Monica M.

Being right next to the water is definitely the appeal of this place. It was relaxing having our Sunday brunch and watching the passerby's. The food was nothing special. The crab bisque came out lukewarm which is never ideal and the crab cake on my crab cake Benedict were so tiny! Never seen anything like it. The oysters Rockefeller were okay but was missing something. Couldn't quite put my finger on it but they were kind of bland. Again, great ambience and just okay brunch food.

View on the River Walk in Wilmington outside by The George

We were visiting the area and meeting friends for Sunday brunch, and they suggested The George. We got a wonderful table outside with a lovely river view. The food is very, very good here. And the Riverwalk prices were comparable to anywhere else in the area. Ingrid was our server, she was very pleasant and attentive. So the food: For an appetizer we tried the baked Brie. It came with pita, spreadable garlic, olives. We asked for more pita bread, which they charge for, so it seems to be the trend for restaurants to do this. Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning. For brunch; we tried the ham and cheese omelette, sides of biscuits, bacon & pimento cheese burger, green tomato Benedict, sweet potato fries, and shrimp and grits. My favorite dish. The shrimp and grits was probably the best I have had anywhere so far. It had amazing flavor, the shrimp were cooked perfectly and it was a tomato based sauce, which went well with the andouille sausage. Absolutely wonderful! Overall, we had a nice time, very leasurely, and was not rushed out. We enjoyed that river view as long as possible! Unfortunately, we were with friends, so I took no food pics this time, but everyone enjoyed their food. If you want great food with an awesome view, get a table outside at the George. Go try the shrimp and grits. You're going to enjoy the experience here.

    Baked Brie

Another great spot on the Riverwalk with a fabulous view of the river. The baked Brie was a great shareable appetizer for our group of 8. We loved it. I had the goat cheese crusted chicken breast which was absolutely delicious. I heard the steaks were excellent and would try that the next time. I had a delicious chocolate cake for dessert, but I didn't manage to get a photo before I devoured it. Service was excellent. If I'd had more time in Wilmington, I would've been back. Here's to another meal at George's on a future visit,

Good seafood! It's on the riverwalk. The patio is nice, but we went in March and it was a bit cold on the patio, even with the heaters. The Brussel sprouts were incredible. The crab dip was great. It came with a lot of pita dippers.

    Flight of mimosas

It was a little cool on outdoor patio this morning, so hostess was accommodating and moved us inside! Still have a view of the river by a Window seat! Started out brunch with a flight of mimosas and a Bloody Mary! Three of us chose an Eggs Benedict type course, which all were very good, especially the Crab Benedict! Note they are on a small biscuit though, instead of the traditional English Muffin! Service was good and we had plenty of time to spare before our show! Although street parking is free on Sundays, there is a private lot directly across from the restaurant, which honors 3 hours of free parking! You just need to ask the hostess for a parking pass to place in the dash of your car! Will be back for dinner next time!

    Brunch: chicken and waffles

I arrived into town at the start of the Sunday brunch rush, and the outdoor patio seating (predictably) was completely filled. Which was fine as I preferred indoor seating in order to wake up from my flight. Getting seated inside was quick, and within minutes I had my order in. I went with their chicken and waffles, which I received in less than 5 minutes. The mixed berry compote was sweet, one may argue even too sweet but with how salty the fried chicken was it helped tame some of the saltiness. The fried chicken was a good portion, but the taste reminded me more of a pre-cooked chicken tender you'd microwave. If I go back, I'll skip this particular dish as it wasn't worth the $17-ish tag. Despite a full crowd outside, the staff were still attentive to the few of us inside, and seemed to make a point about refilling our coffees before we were at the halfway point. If you're in town, I think a visit here is still worth it. Just be sure to get there early if you're hoping for a seat on the patio (especially if you're with a group). Tips: -Bring cash in case their credit card system goes down (staff told me it's been an occasional issue) -Restrooms are inside near the kitchen (left side) -To be seated (outside or inside), go up the ramp and wait for the staff -Street parking is available

Don't let the exterior of this builder deter you from coming in. It will surprise you. From. The clean crips black white deco to the paintings on the wall that are for sale from a local artist. The food was reasonably priced hot delicious. The only thing I could say about this place is that my fork was bent. The view of the river was breathtaking. Watching the wildlife coming and going while enjoying a delicious lunch was and is a great way to spend time in whilmington.

New York strip, shrimp n grits, Cesar salad

Love dinner on the River! They had warm heaters on the dock so we wouldn't get cold, but it was honestly pretty warm out already. Dinner was fantastic! Shrimp n grits were so flavorful! I also had a bite of the steak and it was mouth watering! I'll have to get that next time! The crab dip and pita chips were warm and comforting lol! Nothing like a bunch of comfort food to sooth the soul! Service was great! Great with suggestions and very attentive! Wasn't too busy on a Friday evening

This place is cute but, on the small-ish side when you can't use their outdoor seating area. Reservations are recommended if you want a normal table. We walked in without a reservation and were relegated to a high-top table in the bar area. High-tops are not very comfortable in general and go figure.... We weren't very comfortable. The menu is a bit eclectic.... But, its fine for the area. Some of the menu offerings could use a bit more judgement, experience or an adult in the kitchen. I ordered the PEI mussels, and while they were delicious, there was an entire bowl of broth that I had to leave since they only give you two little thin slices of toasted bread. What a total waste leaving all the wonderful broth. Serving even day-old toasted bread with the mussels would cost very little and would make for a far better presentation, and the restaurant would not look so miserly. We also ordered a Brussel sprouts appetizer and it was very good. For dinner, I ordered the "Smoked Bacon & Pimento Cheese" burger but they didn't have regular American cheese for it. Only cheddar and pimento cheese. The "Smoked Bacon" was nothing special at all. I've gotten better bacon from Denny's. It's not like the bacon was Neuske's bacon which would have made a far better item for the burger. Also, keeping a few slices of pasteurized American cheese on hand for those that don't want cheddar or pimento cheese would give the diner a different impression of the restaurant. I wanted neither and opted for no cheese since the burger I ordered was medium rare. The burger came out well done and it was dry. It was like eating a hockey puck. The Mrs ordered a filet with mushroom gravy and spinach and it was gorgeous and it tasted wonderful! I walked away from the dinner thinking that if there was an experienced chef in the kitchen and experienced manager running the restaurant things may have been different. This was as far from "Fine Dining" as you can get. Try it and you be the judge. As for us, there are way too many top notch restaurants in Wilmington for me to ever go back to this one.

The atmosphere was very pleasant next to the river. The staff was pleasantly friendly, service was great, and the food was extraordinary. I highly recommend.

We came here for a quick lunch. Love the outdoor seating and the food was pretty good. The only thing we didn't like was the seared tuna, it was combined with kimchi which was an odd taste. The service was good, they took us right before they closed between lunch and dinner and we appreciated that!

This was one of the best meals I have had post COVID pandemic. I feel like the quality of food and service has been struggling at many restaurants but not at the George! We had a 7;30 reservation for inside but it was such a nice night we asked if there was an availability on their deck. They seated us out there in just a few minutes while we grabbed a beer at the bar. We ordered the fried Brussels Sprouts as an appetizer. They were absolutely delicious and good portion size. For my entree I ordered the black bass. It was so tender it melted in my mouth. Perfectly seasoned, great presentation. Literally the best meal I've had since COVID. Service was good, too. Would definitely go back next time I am in town.

    Extra dirty grey goose martini

I had a really great dinner lastnight. There was something missing to give it that 5 stars, but I really did enjoy my meal. We had reservations at 615. Outside was full (and that is the prime place to eat). Parking is comped if you park across the street, don't pay, go inside and get a pad, then go put it in your car). I walked in the front Door and waited at the hostess stand for alittle bit and noticed nobody was really inside. So, I walked outside and I guess that is where the main hostess stand is. The inside smelled like dirty mop water (third nice restaurant I have been to lately with this smell). I was seated and greeted a few minutes later by the server. She showed me their seasonal drink list. My friend came and ordered one from off of there. I had a dirty martini with the best bleu cheese olives ever. We started with the ahi tuna appetizer. The soba noodles underneath were a nice change. I enjoyed this appetizer very much. For my entree, I had the black bass. I was very pleased with my meal. The spinach, rice, curry and fish all meshed together very well. I would highly recommend this meal. My friend had the salmon and it was also very good. The dinner rolls were a little hard. So, food was amazing but the overall experience could have been a little better.

The Cajun penne pasta had a slight kick- mostly more for flavor than for heat. The calamari was perfectly crispy paired with a delicious tomato based sauce. The truffle mac and cheese and the brussel sprouts were our standout favorite sides, both had a punch of flavor and were perfectly prepared. The crab cake had an interesting sauce flavor profile, almost like pickles, definitely unique and added a lot of interest to the dish. I also ordered the hibiscus spritz mocktail which was light and fresh, perfect for a hot summer evening. Our server was prompt and friendly, she anticipated needs like refills and informed us on the off menu specials. What a fantastic evening at Dram Yard…read more We were a little concerned we might miss our 5:30 reservation after getting delayed by a seven-car accident on the bridge, but we arrived just a couple of minutes late and it wasn't an issue at all. From the moment we arrived, the experience was relaxed, welcoming, and exactly what we needed. We chose to sit in the beautiful courtyard, and with temperatures in the 70s, sunshine overhead, and a gentle breeze, it couldn't have been a more perfect setting. The outdoor gazebo bar creates a wonderful atmosphere for enjoying a cocktail before dinner, and if the weather isn't cooperating, the indoor dining space is equally inviting. A special thank you to Sarah, whose service was outstanding. She was cheerful, attentive, and genuinely seemed happy to be there. The restaurant wasn't crowded, which made for a peaceful and unhurried dining experience. For drinks, I ordered the Ghost Town, while my wife enjoyed the Venus Flytrap. Both were beautifully prepared and easy to see why they're among the restaurant's popular cocktails. The food was equally impressive. I had the Spaghetti Carbonara, and it was exceptional. The kitchen even accommodated my request for extra freshly cracked black pepper, which took an already excellent dish to another level. My wife ordered the Little Gem Salad with shrimp, and it was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. We also shared the Tuna Tartare Tostada, which was outstanding--beautiful presentation, fresh tuna, and a great balance of textures and flavors. Adding to the experience was a bottle of Albariño that paired wonderfully with the meal. What stands out most about Dram Yard is its atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you can settle in, slow down, enjoy a handcrafted cocktail, and forget about the stresses of the day. Whether you're looking for a date night, an evening with friends, or simply a quiet place to relax, Dram Yard delivers. Excellent service, creative cocktails, outstanding food, and one of the most relaxing outdoor dining spaces in Wilmington. We'll definitely be back.

We each got a bowl of gazpacho, an appetizer size portion of two very small duck lumpia followed by tile fish with flat noodles and a savory broth. Desert was a small scoop of ice cream and small crumble type cobbler to share. We had hoped to surprise my wife, but she figured it out the night before. Wm was just as disappointed as I was, but stayed in touch throughout the planning process and made sure everything still went smoothly. The attention to detail and professionalism were greatly appreciated. Our server, Jeffrey, was outstanding. Friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and never intrusive. He kept everything moving at the perfect pace and made our entire table feel well taken care of. Our group ordered several different dishes, including the Arthur Ave. beef rib sugo with cavatelli, the Cacio Me If You Can house-made spaghetti with mushrooms, cheese, pepper, and pine nuts, and the Rural Swine featuring North Carolina pork. Every single plate was excellent. There wasn't a bad meal on the table. The wine selections paired beautifully with dinner, and the complimentary olive oil birthday cake was a thoughtful touch that ended the evening perfectly. The restaurant itself deserves recognition as well. The atmosphere is elegant without feeling pretentious. I especially appreciated the warm, darker interior with exposed brick, comfortable seating, and a welcoming feel. It has character and feels inviting rather than the typical bright white subway-tile bistro that so many restaurants seem to imitate today. The dining room was comfortable, the bar was beautiful, and even the restrooms were spotless and well maintained. Seeing the AAA Four Diamond awards displayed made perfect sense after experiencing the restaurant firsthand. Most importantly, we spent a wonderful evening celebrating my wife's birthday with good friends, and Manna provided the perfect setting for those memories. We'll definitely be back.
