    EL PUB CUBANO
    Derek M.

Rebellion has always been good to me with burgers, but I went a different route. I got their Cuban. As someone from South Florida my expectations are sky high for these. If you cannot make them authentic then they need to stick out and this one does stick out in a good way! Despite being PACKED the service was friendly and fast! Note: Parking in downtown can always be an issue so be prepared for that.

Five stars isn't enough. I don't want to exaggerate but this is as good of a spot as I have been to in a long time. The building itself is this cool, brick with a great aesthetic. The service was unbelievable, shoutout Allie. The food was incredible. The chicken pesto sandwich was delicious. Extensive beer and whiskey list. Just an absolute must visit if you're in Wilmington.

Stopped in prior to attending concert at river pavillion... our service from Katie was impeccable! Super friendly very informative and great suggestions! We ordered wings the sweet bourbon glaze and garlic parm wings ordered crispy... also had the rebel yell sandwich and burger and also steak sandwich... only suggestion was a little more seasoning for bourbon wings and the rebel yell sandwich was very salty... we loved our service ... the bar restaurant is super clean and welcoming ... and menu had a nice selection also great choice in bourbons and craft beers xoxo

The restaurant wasn't that busy and there was a lot of staff, yet the service was still kind of slow. The nachos were large and really good. The other dish in the pictures is the Mac and cheese. The flavor was good, and it was a little bit on the spicier side. There are a lot of drink options to choose from and tvs to watch sports. The environment was good and the restaurant is great for larger groups and families.

    Fancy Philly with tater tots.

Food and service was great. Food came quick. No wait time. We got the fancy Philly and tator tots.

Pork belly and giant pretzel were awesome. Pretzel was hot and soft and the cheese sauce was unique and delicious. Not crowded when we arrived but service was looking a little harried. Nice guy. Old fashioned were smoked, yum. We maybe set our expectations a little high because of all the fantastic distilleries we also tried in the area. Love the name!!

The house bubbles are reasonably priced. The pork belly is cooked to perfection! The pretzel is humongous! Great attentive service and a relaxed outdoor atmosphere.

Friday visit, party of 4. Here is what we liked: * Immediate seating with mostly high tops and the bar. * Large drink selection, many choices for spirits. * The pork belly appetizer was good. Crisp and a bit meaty. * The burgers were all good, everyone had a burger and all thought they were good. * Tater tots had a good seasoning and the waffle fries were good. * Service was great- believe his name was Chapman(?) solid funny guy and knew what he was doing. What could of been better: * Tue candied bacon was just ok, think it should be a thicker cut. * While the tater tots were seasoned good, they were lukewarm at best.

My husband and I finally went to Rebellion for lunch. We've been in the area for over four years. It's a cool place with a huge bar. Too hot to sit outside today, so we sat inside. It wasn't crowded at all but it fill up a bit by the time we left. I had the Rebel Yell, which consisted of smoked turkey, bacon, cheese, tomato and mornay cheese sauce on sourdough bread. It was excellent, although pretty messy with the yummy sauce - ask for extra napkins. I had a side of roasted Brussel sprouts that were served in a lemon butter sauce and sprinkled with parmesan cheese. It was a large portion. My husband had the Wild Bunch burger with shaved ribeye, chimichurri, mozzarella, tomato, arugula and a spicy mayo; and a side tots. He really liked it. We both brought half our sandwiches home, as they were quite filling. Very friendly service by Melina. And lots of good music playing in the background. We'll be back.

    A SHEET TRAY NACHOS
    Sara L.

Enjoyed the biggest order of delicious nachos EVER here earlier this month! At least 3 meals in one order. Perfectly arranged with the freshest ingredients. And enjoyed a couple great craft cocktails too with new friends while hanging out in this friendly and festive ambiance. This place is big enough for many conversations to be had amongst friends without disturbing your neighbors. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and definitely contributes to this place's vibe too. A go to hangout place now for sure when I'm in town!

Is this actually a Confederacy themed restaurant? I mean, between being named Rebellion and the Rebel Yell being on the menu and the pseudo Civil War era flag decor?

Dumb question. Quit searching for ways to be offended.

The flavor was great the caramelized onions with the Oklahoma sauce was a great pairing. The burger itself was juicy and had a good flavor. One of the better burgers I've had honestly and you have a ton of toppings to choose from. My one bite score came out to a whopping 8.2/10 which is the 4th highest rated burger on my scale ever. The sweet potato wedges were amazing the cinnamon is the way to go! I was kind of disappointed with the sizing I ordered a large to split between the two of us and it wasn't enough. The 12 oz shake was amazing the only thing with that was it took forever. I was done with my food by the time the shake was done. It did look like they only have one shake machine so that could be why it took so long but the fact the I was done with my food before even seeing the shake was a bit crazy. The price of it all was a bit steep in the 40 some dollar range, but it was great. Also kinda in a random place but the vibes were great in there and the food was good I would say it is definitely worth the drive.

The fries, were a bit salty for my liking, but obviously that can be shook off and better than having none at all; they also offer mesquite bbq as a seasoning instead of just salt. Located at the end of a strip mall, with plenty of parking. Come down and check this place out for yourself. The staff were awsome, kind, and polite with energetic spirits, the restaraunt was clean, and most importantly....so was the bathroom.

We were next and got the last table for two. The place was completely full. After reading the menu, the daily special was 1/2 price burgers. They also gave first responders 20% off on Mondays. They have specials every night, so it is worth it to check that out before coming in. We started with a basket of hush puppies and corn muffins with yummy molasses butter. If you get in between 3:30 and 5pm, appetizers are 1/2 price Monday through Friday. I can see why this place is so busy! So I decided on a burger, who can pass up half price day? And we also got the knuckle sandwich, which was 20% off for first responders, so my hubs got that. Off to a good start. Also tried fresh squeezed lemonade, really delicious and fair priced. The burger and the sandwich were huge, we both had to take half to go. You get one side for $1.50, but added sides are $4 each. Still ok since the prices are good. There were charges for the added bacon and cheese on my burger but still at half price, it is a great deal. The restaurant is very rustic, pub atmosphere and very relaxed. The bar was completely full, so that must be the highlight of the restaurant. Looked lively and busy. Service is very good, the servers come back to check on you often. Chloe was very sweet and attentive. The only disappointment was dessert. We chose the cake of the day. It was chocolate Bundt cake with cinnamon frosting. To be completely honest, it tasted like boxed cake mix and canned frosting. It was very small, so I knew it was probably cake mix. There was nothing special about this; it was also pretty dry. Even if they purchased their desserts from a local bakery, it would have been better than what we got. I won't say avoid all their desserts, but I wanted to point out the cake specifically. So overall: The prices were excellent, food and service is really great, and the pub atmosphere was nice and comfortable. The plus was that on a busy night, we didn't wait for a table. They do not do reservations so prepare to wait, or just go earlier. I would definitely come back here, and enjoy some more of the large menu. 5 stars

I ended up coming here twice in two days--once to try the NY Chopped Cheese and then again to try…read morethe Philly Cheesesteak. Let's start with the chopped cheese. As a New Yorker, I was excited to see it on the menu. And let me say this first... the sandwich was delicious. I cleaned that thing up and didn't leave a single crumb behind. The flavor was on point. Here's the only issue: it wasn't really a chopped cheese. Instead of using chopped ground beef like you'd find at a New York bodega, it was made with sliced steak. I asked the owner about it, and he explained that they used to make it the traditional way, but they switched because the ground beef would dry out by the time customers got it home or had it delivered. Using steak keeps it much juicier. I told him, "Then it's not really a chopped cheese anymore... it's basically a Philly cheesesteak." He laughed and said, "No, our Philly cheesesteak uses different meat." That caught my attention, so I said, "Hold up... you have an actual Philly cheesesteak too?" He said yes. So naturally, I came back the next day to try it. After trying both, I can honestly say I liked the "chopped cheese" much more. The Philly cheesesteak was made with Steak-umm-style beef, and unfortunately it was a little dry. It also could've used a lot more cheese (or cheese sauce) to bring everything together. I didn't complain because everyone has their own way of making things, and I respect that. But here's my opinion: if they simply renamed that "chopped cheese" sandwich to their Philly cheesesteak, it would be one of the best cheesesteaks around. In fact--and this is just my opinion--I think it would give J. Michael's Philly Deli some serious competition. At the end of the day, that's just one New Yorker's opinion. Go try it for yourself and let me know what you think!
