A lovely traditional Irish pub in Dublin. We had a party of 7 and they were very accommodating. Loved the bar atmosphere. I had a veggie burger and side of chips. The burger was absolutely delicious, the plant based patty tasted homemade and I enjoyed every bite. Excellent place to grab drinks and dinner.
Best vibe and meal so far. Doesn't hurt Deborah is a Kennedy. Great service and wonderful story telling at tables. Dublin at its best. Start with a great local beer and chard for Deb then the BEST wings ever and bangers and mash. Just wow! Ending with the staff gifting a tee to Deb so she is part of the family. Awesome.
Went to Kennedy's for a quick bite to eat and found the place to be very busy. We were able to get a table indoors and were greeted by a very pleasant server who took our drink orders. Menu is limited but has plenty of selections for anyone from appetizers to salads, burgers and large sharable platters for large groups. We ordered onion rings and pork sliders. The onions rings came stacked with sides of onion jam, great stuff, and a mayonnaise dip. Three sliders were served on a plate and were about half the size of a hamburger. They were filled with plenty of pork with a great barbecue sauce. Overall the meal was the right size for a light meal. And a visit to Kennedy's isn't complete without an Irish coffee. A good finish to a good meal. Probably will revisit the place again as we'll be in Dublin of and on for a few days.
This was a fun and friendly pub nearby where I stayed in Dublin. It was always pretty full but the service was awesome. I'm not the one to drink a lot, so Guinness wasn't on the table for me. However, the food was always hot and was pretty good for pub food. I had the burger and chips both times and the burger could have been cooked a little less. If you're not familiar with chips in Ireland, they are more like wedges. Here, they were seasoned with herbs. The ketchup is not traditional either so don't expect Heinz. However, I enjoyed going here and the crowd turnover was pretty quick every time.
This Irish pub has the best of Dublin. The fish and chips comes is news paper and was cooked just right. The batter is not too thin but not so thick that you miss the fish. The tartar is homemade. The beer is cold and they have a lot of choices. The pub atmosphere is friendly and full of enthusiasm. The service was excellent. All of the staff chipped in helping each other.
We were welcomed as we walked in the door. We were seated at a table table, which was a two top, that was right next to the service window. The bright light was very distracting, and I asked if we could move, which we were We were moved to a new table, which was much better suited for a brand new experience for this restaurant. We ordered fish and chips, which obviously is common in Ireland and soup because we wanted to share everything as to not to have leftovers. The food and the drinks came out fast and we were waited on multiple servers, which we appreciated since we didn't have to wait on our one serve The fish and chips were wonderful! The haddock was deliciously seasoned and not too greasy. I did block mine a little with a napkin just to prevent some of the oil. The soup was amazing and I could've eaten just that I'm not really complaining, but as a pub probably should be, the floors were sticky, but it would not keep me from recommending this place. Our main waitress, whose name was SOL, was very kind and warm This restaurant was right across from our hotel, and was a recommendation, and I do not regret being here. Certainly would recommend you visiting here if you want an authentic Irish experience.
We dropped in today for lunch and honestly, how can you resist the exterior of this clearly Irish pub in Dublin? They have a connection back to Oliver Wilde, which we will study up on, lol Husband asked what was their specialty and he ordered the Guinness beef pie and loved it. Pretty heavy lunch, along with a Guinness. I ordered the tuna melt on sourdough, which was very good and added the vegetable soup for an additional four euro. I wish I wouldn't have done that as it was quite bland. Service was great and you can't beat the ambiance. It's a popular place for sure. I believe their other specialty is the fish and chips, which also looked quite popular!
Solid bar and they often have live music. However the live music is normally a few people in a booth playing music so you have to be really close to hear them. Service was friendly but it is much more expensive than other pubs in the area. The cocktails were pricey. They have very good wings!
Conveniently located near the National Gallery of Ireland. Lots of great Oscar Wilde history noted outside. The food is pretty solid too. Beef & Guinness Pie: Some of the best tasting stew broth I've had in Dublin. Meat was nice and tender too. Was a bit let down by the "pie" part since it was just some such thin pastry puffy plopped on top, not even covering the whole plate. Would have liked more buttery flaky dough to go with this. Also, there were some weird pods with a strong anise flavor that I kept crunching into; the texture was a bit off-putting. IPA Fresh Battered Haddock & Chips: Standard. Fish was thick and flaky and crispy. The chips were a bit thinner than I care for.
My wife and I spent two weeks in Ireland for our summer holiday in July. The last day of our visit was spent in Dublin, and given that is the home of Guinness, I insisted we visit a local pub to have a pint. We were seated promptly and politely and I excused myself to the WC and asked my wife to order us a "hometown beer". I returned to find that she had ordered a pint of Guinness for me and a Coors for herself. You see, we live in Golden, Colorado (USA) and like Guinness, Coors is only produced in one location, our "hometown". So (ever the smartass) she followed my instructions to the letter and ordered two "hometown beers" -- one from our current location of Dublin, and one from our home of Golden, Colorado. AND, to make the irony even thicker, she was wearing a Guinness sweater !!! But back to the review -- as I expected, Kennedy's pour a "perfect pint" of Guinness. Indeed the atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from a good Irish pub -- warm, welcoming, jovial, and relaxed. I HIGHLY recommend Kennedy's Pub whenever you're in Dublin. OH, and while you're there be sure to order the "hometown beer"!
Decided to pop in after the receptionist at my hotel recommended this spot for lunch or dinner. I stopped by on my last Sunday in Dublin for a quick bite around 12:15pm. I was seated immediately as other guests continued to trickle in for lunch. By the time I finished up, the restaurant was packed which is certainly a good sign. I opted to go with a final Beef and Guinness Pie for my last sit-down meal in Dublin which turned out to be a great choice. The puff pastry on top was perfectly light and crispy, and the beef was super tender and seasoned to perfection. Of the different Beef and Guinness pies I tried on my trip, Kennedy's recipe was the most unique and included lots of fennel seeds. My waitress was super attentive and friendly, and the ambiance was warm and inviting - the perfect place to dine on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Would totally recommend.

Quaint little pub, ordered the beef and Guinness Pie. Out of this world! Tender pieces of beef and vegetables with wonderful gravy. You will be slurping it out of the cast iron skillet. Topped off with an Ambush Juicy pale ale. Which was great if you like fruity beer! Caroline was our server and was great! read more

We enjoyed the fish and chips, beef stew with Guinness, chicken tenders and Cesar salad. The fish and chips had a wonderful batter and taste, the beef stew heart and filling and the chicken tenders were good. The salad was just ok, as the chicken was tough, but the lettuce, croutons and dressing were very good. Service was good although we came at a very busy time and had to seek our own extra ketchup! Very glad we came and would recommend it to anyone selling a true pub experience. read more

I think this was some of the best fish and chips we had. The beef and Guinness pie was SO good. The gravy was rich and savory. Everyone had a great lunch. It was packed, but the kitchen and front of house were turning tables! read more

Rarely do I go to some place twice while traveling. I love trying new things but Kennedys was a 2 timer for me. Great location for live music and tasty food. The staff is friendly and attentive. read more

Great friendly atmosphere, not too loud- food & service were fantastic! If they have the bangers & mashed special, don't pass it by- it was absolutely amazing! Great pint of Guinness, too! Came here for lunch after Book of Kells and I'm so happy I did!! read more
Kennedy's in Dublin Ireland has history and many a beer and liquors to choose from! We stumbled upon this place on a tour of the city. Unfortunately, no time for a meal just a drink but the plates others had were full and looked very hardy! If you have a moment this is a place you won't want to miss! read more

We were lucky to have visited Kennedy's on this iconic holiday and all was right from start to finish. Kennedy's was decked out in Ireland's national colors, creating a festive and lively atmosphere, capturing the spirit of the Day. The pub was buzzing with laughter, and the hostess was able to find us a table and accommodate our large party - we were very appreciative of that. Football was playing on the tellies, and its patrons, a combination of locals and tourists were buzzing with the day's excitement. [For us, we got to see Kennedy High School's Shamrock Regiment play in the big parade!] Conveniently located right on Wesland Row, near Trinity College, Kennedy's Pub is easily accessible and a perfect spot to gather with friends and family. https://www.kennedyspub.ie/ Their menu offers a fantastic selection of traditional pub fare, and we couldn't resist indulging in some hearty Irish classics. From starters to desserts, there's something for everyone. We sampled the Tuna Melt on an open-faced with red onions and melted cheese, their Chicken Salad Sandwich piled high with fresh chicken salad on wheat, and the pièce de résistance - the Kennedy Burger. It was masterfully constructed with a whole egg, thick cheese, and bacon, all nestled between a soft hamburger on a brioche bun. And let's not forget about the fries - the thickest we've ever had, and oh so delicious! Of course, no St. Patrick's Day celebration would be complete without some Irish libations! A beautiful piece of history. Such a fun place. They take reservations and is a good idea to make one when music plays. The music was incredibly traditional and so much fun to listen to. A huge selection of whiskey. You can't go wrong coming to this local gym. read more

This was the first place we stopped when in Dublin for lunch, or any type of food period. Atmosphere: Quite a large place, big bar area, and nice seating area by windows to people watch. The bathrooms are on the lower level if you are wondering. They weren't that clean, a lot of gum stuck around the ladies room (seems to be a problem in Ireland for some reason). The table we were sat at had pretty uncomfortable stools and the table was pretty wobbly and so was my chair. Service: The bartender/sever was really friendly and helpful and made a really good Bloody Mary. They had a nice bar selection - hard liquor, cider, beer, you name it they had it. Food: My husbands beef stew was tender, flavorful and he really enjoyed it. My lamb burger was pretty good but a little cool when delivered to the table and my chips/fries were seasoned well but not as crispy on the outside as I like. Overall it was a nice spot, and would be great for meeting up with a group of people for drinks and maybe some food. read more

Fun spot right near Trinity College. Service was great. The bartender told me Mrs Kennedy open this establishment as a grocery store in 1850 selling butter and flour. Eventually, she purchased a keg of Guinness and never looked back. Butter customers showed up weekly but Guinness customers were there everyday! read more

Came on a recommendation from the proprietor at Sweny Phamacy across the street. Very, very good pub food. We all enjoyed our dishes, and the place had a great atmosphere to go with it's history as a gathering place for some of Dublin's famous writers. Service was a bit inattentive, especially towards the end of our meal, as we had to flag down a waitress several times. Nevertheless, a good lunch with all the Irish favorites. I had bangers and mash. It was hearty and more flavorful than what I've had previously. A good choice. Others also enjoyed their dishes: Irish stew, and a fried chicken sandwich. We'd definitely do this place again. read more

My husband and I love this pub. We visited at least three times during our recent trip to Dublin. We had dinner and drinks here at least twice. The food was delicious and better than other pub food we ate during our three week trip to Dublin. I liked getting some vegetables with my dinner, instead of just chips/fries. I particularly recommend the stuffed pork cutlet. The clientele is a mixture of young people, middle-aged people, and seniors. The pub is next to Trinity College, so it draws a lot of students and office workers who were dressed up for a night out. No one was rowdy. The clientele also included seniors including some tourists such as us. There is a fair amount of seating inside and limited seating outside. The pub is popular, and once in a while it was hard to find a table. The service is very good. The pub is one block from the Davenport Hotel and the Alex Hotel. The Davenport Hotel recommended this restaurant as a good place for dinner. Kennedys has been in business since 1850. The author Oscar Wilde used to work here. read more

Really enjoyed my experience here! Got an Irish coffee which was a little bitter but pretty good still! Got the soup of the day (sweet potato and chicken) and it was pretty good. Definitely needed more seasoning though. We also tried sweet potato fries which could have cooked a bit longer, but still good. Lastly we tried the chicken flatbread appetizer. It was good, filled with chicken and worth the price. Would definitely try something else/ new if I went again! read more
