This preschool is an absolute disaster. The staff are inattentive and seem untrained, ignoring kids' needs while chatting amongst themselves. The facility is filthy--sticky floors, grimy toys, and a bathroom that looks like it's never been cleaned. No wonder there is a lice outbreak right now! Curriculum is disorganized, with zero structure or learning focus; it's basically chaos. The teachers do their own thing while claiming they write their lessons and follow a program to help. Even books are given in the curriculum and they are not used as parents are told. The "snacks" are cheap. Communication with parents is nonexistent--good luck getting a response without being berated by the front office staff with an attitude. Michelle, Tanny and Annabel are all involved in this. She over spoke when I attempted to explain why my review was posted and how I was spoken to when scheduling a tour. She explained that I must've mistaken her school for another even after I shared the phone number, time and date that I called. I would still not give this business more than one star. Goddard is a magical utopia. My son spent the last year in the pre-K program. We moved him to Goddard after an unsuccessful year at a Montessori. The montessori style of learning was not for him. He needed more direction to be successful and actually enjoy being at school. This year my son has been treated with so much love by truly wonderful people. His is teachers, Miss Anabel and Miss Ali were always genuinely so excited to see him in the morning and sad to see him go. My son absolutely loved every day of preschool. Never once did he say that he didn't want to go or complain about school. At the Montessori he did, often. The teachers work tirelessly to help develop our children's minds, curiosity, imagination and a true LOVE of learning. My son was always so excited to share the new things that he learned & the experiences he had at school. Everything from chess, Spanish, gardening, stem activities, science experiments, etc. It is pretty amazing the amount of hands on learning and fun these kids get to experience. We are so sad it's already time to move on to kindergarten. We love Goddard and hope they consider us to be part of their family, always. I'd also like to mention that they are incredibly clean, I definitely never had the icks going into the classrooms or walking through the halls. They are very serious about the children being safe and secure, which as a parent in 2023 is paramount. Choosing a school for your babies is hard. If you are hoping to find a place where your child will form a solid foundation that their education will be based on, a program where your child will be loved, nurtured & inspired look no further. My son transferred to the Craig Ranch location from a different Goddard in November. At the time he was 2 1/2 years old, and after being enrolled in the Get Set class for only TWO WEEKS he went from being in pull-ups to being potty trained. That was something he really struggled with at his previous school. His teachers Jasmine and Sky were amazing, and so patient with him to get him on track and help him open up. With a new baby coming he had a lot of changes which made some days tough, but they always showed nothing but patience and love to him. The schools owner, director, and assistant directors are always very well engaged and attentive during drop offs and pick ups. And when children are having tough days leaving their parents, someone is always there to give a hug and lend a hand. All the teachers I've interacted with as a parent have really cared about my child, and he is honestly thriving in the school. He is now in the preschool program and asks for his teacher DAILY! I've personally worked in the childcare field for a number of years, and now being a parent I'm very happy with my families experience here. I have nothing but great things to say, and I'm excited to see how our son will continue to grow here. read more

We love this school. I'm honestly not sure where to start. The teachers are amazing. They LOVE our kids like we love them. They go above and beyond to make our kids feel safe, happy and teach them. The front office staff is truly an open door. I can talk to them about any concerns and know that they will be handled discretely. Also, I have a child that has some health issues. We've been on an evolutionary journey to determine what's going on with him. Every step along the way, this team has supported whatever we need. They all him to meet with a swallow therapist, they assist with medications when needed. They are kind and always ask how he's doing. Most importantly, they call me if anything looks off with him. I could not praise this school enough. I moved my Pre-K daughter from another school in McKinney and the change in her has been nothing short of amazing. She loves school and has blossomed in so many ways. The teaching is hands on yet play centered. Today my daughter was raving about being "the queen" during chess lessons. Yes, they do chess lessons once a week and my daughter loves it. The communication is top notch and the staff is welcoming and genuinely care. Yesterday our 5 year old daughter graduated from Goddard McKinney after 3.5 years. This has been such an amazing ride to see her progress year after year. They do such an incredible job teaching the children a wide range of curriculum that prepares them for the next step. Most importantly though there's a care factor with the teachers that is truly genuine. You can absolutely see that they're investing into their long term success both academically and emotionally. Some may say that it's a little higher priced however I'm a big believer in "you get what you pay for" and you're absolutely getting what you're paying for here. Farmer Rick, Chess Instruction, Growing stuff, Splash Days etc it's all worth it Highly recommend Goddard McKinney if you're looking for your child to have a great head start in life to be that future CEO. read more

I don't even know where to begin to try and express how wonderful this school is! My boys have attended since they were 12 weeks olds. I toured every single school in McKinney, and hands down Goddard is the best! The owners and directors are outstanding and always available if needed. They had always been fanatics about cleanliness, but I've been so impressed with how they've handled everything after Covid-19 and ensuring the students and staff stay safe. The classrooms have low ratios and excellent teachers that genuinely care about their students. When my oldest went to kinder, he was more than prepared and his teacher even made a comment about "Goddard Kids" being ahead of the curve! My son had been in this Goddard school since he was 10 months old, he is now four years old and I was forced to pull him out because I could not keep him there any longer. The school has new owners now Rick and Robbin Wells; ever since Robbin took over we have had so many issues there. The previous owners were caring family people who truly enjoyed what they did and took the time to get to know each child and their parents. They were there daily and greeted each child by their name; they were genuine. Robbin Wells (new owner) has been nothing but rude since day one. This woman will see your child as a another dollar in her pocket. The teachers in the school know my son very well and the kind of child that he is since he was there for a while. For the past three weeks he started playing with two boys that he was not playing with before and this led to him making bad choices. He was having trouble listening, he was hiding under tables, running around. Keep in mind that he was not hurting other kids, these boys are four years old and full of energy. I kept getting negative reports almost daily for three weeks and every single day I would look for his teacher when picking him up so that I could learn about his day to be able to understand what was going on and what I could do to work with him at home. He was in trouble at school and at home because of his day, I like to reward the good choices as well as disciplining him when he makes bad choices. Privileges go away until the behavior changes. We talk and it broke my heart to not see him all day because I am at work and have to pick him up to only get on him about his day. Last week Robbin Wells decided to call me at work, she called me around 10:00 AM to tell me that my son needed to be picked up right away because he was not listening and hiding under a table with his friends and he needed to leave for the day and she "didn't know about the rest of the week". She suspended three boys including my son from daycare because he needed to learn a lesson! Needless to say, I pulled my son from Goddard and away from Robbin Wells, this woman is as fake as they come, can see it right through her. I talked to her about my experience before pulling him and told her why we were leaving. She had nothing to say other than it was best and that at that time she really wanted to get up and go hug another parent that was at the school because she had just lost her mother in her sleep and she couldn't because of me and my talk with her! That she had other things in her mind like the teacher that she had to let go last Friday because she had a fire drill and a child was left alone in the classroom. I talked to her on Monday. I was a customer, a parent that was expressing her concerns to her and all she did was disregard what I said and did everything possible to make me feel like I was wasting her time. Not once took any responsibility or apologized for making such a fast decision to suspend these boys for three days. She never tried to reach out to me, she had 3 weeks to do it and nothing. I would've loved a call to ask me to maybe have a parent-teacher conference to come up with a plan to help these kids and make things better for the teachers as well. This could have been prevented but she did not want anything to change. She wanted us gone. She failed my son and us as parents, we trusted her and her judgement and we regret it. I hope she does something to really work on the way she runs that daycare, she needs to actually spend time in the classrooms and get to know the children and their special qualities. See the struggles the teachers go through daily, experience their frustrations so that she can really set them up for success resulting in quality care for these children. This place is so short staffed it's ridiculous, the kids do not need a new face every day! They need consistency. Robbin you and your office puppets need to go Goddard corporate and get more training because it's obviously needed. My son previously attended a Goddard in CA so I hate high expectations for this school. After 2 minutes of visiting I could see this was not the same Goddard we were used to. This was not the right school for us. However, their owner and director are extremely kind and professional and on a personal level I really liked them and wanted to love their school. read more

We absolutely love The Goddard School in McKinney. We only have one child and are very particular with his care. Previously we only had nannies and his growth since enrolling with Goddard had been amazing. My only complaint is that I wish we would have started him with Goddard sooner. My last of two daughters just graduated from The Goddard School in McKinney this Summer to begin Kindergarten. I first enrolled both of my daughters in January 2012, so I believe four and a half years of sending my children to The Goddard School gives me a bit of an experienced, educated opinion of the school. In short: the school is nothing short of spectacular! Both of my daughters have been greatly enriched by their experiences and well-prepared for elementary school, if not exceedingly so. The owner of The Goddard School, Robbin Wells, takes a world class and hands-on approach to educating children. For example, my youngest daughter, at only four years old, was able to play chess every bit as well as I can as an adult! This is because Robbin brought in a professional chess coach to teach the Pre-K and Junior-K classes. I myself was a little skeptical at how proficient children at this age could be at the intricacies of the strategy of chess, but my daughter has excelled beyond my imagination. This is only one example of how Robbin brings a unique, challenging and worldly perspective to sculpting young minds! The Goddard School also teaches the importance of a healthy lifestyle, including eating fresh, organic, and sustainable foods. The children plant and care for their own garden on site, including preparing and eating their own vegetables! Robbin and her husband, Rick, also own a working farm of their own and invited parents to bring their children one weekend to learn about farming fresh foods and to appreciate (and even enjoy) healthy eating. This is yet another example of how teaching and enriching children is more than just learning letters and numbers. The Goddard School "gets it" and it shows! When both of my daughters started Kindergarten, they were above-average in reading and writing, talents I have not doubt are the result of the caring and dedicated teachers and curriculum at The Goddard School. The environment is one that is inclusive, challenging, loving, supportive, and rewarding. Not even 1 star for this school. ...i have to take a picture to my kid when i drop him in the morning because i don't know what will i expect every day he comes with a scratch in the face and the teachers never give us an incident report. Do not recommend this daycare, indifference of the teachers and director is huge, there is one director whose name is Beverly who is lazy, she is sitting all the time and eating I n the office...bad image for the school. I really wanted to send my 2 year son to attend preschool. I starded viewing different preschools in the area. As an educator myself i understand the importance of education. I went for a tour and was disgusted by what i saw. There were 8 total kids in the bathroom with all their pants pulled down to the ground in line waiting for the two potties in the bathroom. There was two kids sittkng on the potty already. Not to mention that these children were a mix of boys and girls. There was a little girl that was extremely shy and the teacher made her sit on the potty in front of the 8 other kids waiting with there underwear and pants already pulled down to the floor. I was completely in shock.....i have NEVER since this! As a licensed educated through the state of texas i was completely...words could not describe how i felt! A few days past and the director/owner "lisa" contacted me and asked if i had any questions and wanted to know if my son would be attending. I said no and continued to say to be honest i was really upset to see what i mentioned above. Her response was "well there are two classes that share that bathroom and we have make the most of our time." So having 8 boys and girls mixed together all stand in line facing the potties with their pants and underwear pulled to their ankles "is making the most of there time" i could only wonder what else is going on in that school. The correct professional answer should have been "thank you for informing me and i would look into it"....please be careful if you are thinking of sending your kiddos here! We love this school. We have had bad experiences at other schools and Goddard McKinney has been wonderful. The staff is attentive, kind, patient, and accessible, and the class sizes are small. They actually implement curriculum instead of just advertising curriculum, and they have enrichment programs included in your tuition cost (gardening, yoga, chess). We are having a great experience at Goddard. Robbin and Rick (AKA Farmer Rick) are warm and welcoming, and it is clear to me that they love the school and are committed to providing a loving, stimulating school experience. Beverly and Mary Beth are also fantastic and I really can't say enough good things about Goddard McKinney. Bonus: my son never ever cries when I drop him off in the morning. Our first year at this school was amazing! The teachers were wonderful and our child enjoyed going to school. Then enrollment dropped in our child's class. This began at the first of summer. So without forewarning my child was placed half day in the original class room and then moved to another classroom for the remaining part of the day. By the time she was picked up she had traveled through four classrooms. I complained as did other parents and within a couple weeks she was back to full day in her classroom. My child's behavior began to change upon moving to toddler 2 classroom. Her teachers repeatably failed to give my child her snack/drink/lunch items that were sent in lunch box. I had on many occasions addressed issues with teacher/director and thought my concerns were being addressed but the same problems continued. I also observed the teacher demanding my child's pacifier at drop off ( while she still screaming for me). When I asked the teacher about this she denied ever doing it. I observed this three seperate times from outside the classroom. I could not trust a teacher that boldly lied to my face. In this circumstance you have an incompetent teacher or you have a teacher with a personal issue with my child. read more

This place is a joke. The office flat out lies to your face. They say they are at small student teacher ratios then all of a sudden there are 20 something maybe 30 kids crammed into a classroom that is no bigger than my living room. If I'm going to spend the kind of money for my child to get an education, then there better be materials and furniture in the classroom that aren't falling apart. Almost 1,000 a month and I have to bring his lunch and the "snacks" they feed your children are great value brand light yogurt. Light yogurt is bad for you and it isn't even name brand. But you have 20 plus kids in the class making about 20,000 a month off just my child's classroom. Also, found out from a previous teacher she only got paid 12.00 and hour. So, where's my money going? I'm very sad for the children stuck there. I don't like being deceived by people who run school. You're in the business of children, their safety, health, and education....act like it Goddard. So glad we put my boy some place else! read more

This is an amazing school! I am very pleased with the care they give my son and the love they have for him which shows every day. We came from a different school and I could not believe all of the differences that we found between both schools. This is a very family oriented place and we love that. It is owned by a family and they are there every single day, they are also very nice and welcoming. The school is beautiful and we love that all of the teachers have degrees in some type of childhood education, this gives us peace of mind and I have no concerns when leaving my son there every morning. I am able to work without being worried about his well being. He has learned so much and loves his teachers and friends, most of the teachers have been there for a long time. Lately some of them have left but the new ones are very nice and loving to the kids. They email the daily reports with all of the information from learning and educational activities to meals and potty times. They also send pictures of memorable moments which always makes my day! Before we started I did not like that lunch was not provided but there must be a reason behind that and I have learned to love the idea of taking care of his daily lunches even though we are not together. I firmly disagree with the previous negative review. My daughter has been there for a few months now and I can say the Owner - Robbin, teachers, and office staff have been nothing but kind and loving to my child and my family. They've recently implemented a kid-friendly, yet health conscious meal delivery option, through Harvest which is farm to table - which is a fantastic idea. They also are great about sending comprehensive electronic reports on everything they are learning and goals, pics included. They have been instrumental in helping me potty train my strong willed child, which would have otherwise taken me another year! Many afternoons when I pick up my daughter, I see Robbin having a dance party with her and other kiddos in the hallway (makes my heart smile). They were flexible when I was late one day and accommodating another when I could not physically walk my daughter in, they happily came out to get her (hand to hand)! The quality and level of education is advanced yet appropriate. Change is inevitable and not for everyone, I can't condone those that prefer to defame publicly an institution that clearly does many things right - just withdraw your child and find a better fit. read more

Through the years, the teachers, the directors, and owners have developed both of my boys, academically, socially, and emotionally.
