However, the pump stopped after only $12 worth of gas. When my husband went back inside to ask about it, the employee claimed we had only given him $20. Unfortunately, we had no way to prove otherwise, even though we knew we only had a $100 bill and a $50 bill in his wallet at the time. We ended up having to pay more just to fill the tank. If it's take out, you come back and pick it up. Looked over the lunch menu and a couple of things looked good. Breakfast menu looked very good as well.The lady at the counter asked me about todays special which was a Chicken Fried Steak Sandwich with Honey Mustard which sounded good. For a side, I had the potato salad. Place my order,paid and in short order my number was called and I picked it up at the Counter. Looked good and when I bit it, it was as good as it looked. Steak was nicely cooked and while I was a bit leary of the Honey Mustard, it turned out to be a nice compliment. The Potato Salad was excellent with a bit of a tang from the mustard used in it but not overpowering with a nice taste and texture. A bit hidden and not well marked on I-77 but it's the at the Tomlin Mill Exit North of Statesville on the west side of the interchange. Worth giving in a try.

Sometime probably in the later 1990's, they began to diversify with Gas Stations/Convivence Stores which many but not all, had a small Deli associated with it. Gas Stations were either Shell or BP branded although I think there are a couple of AMOCO Stations in the mix. First one I ran into was when they were building Langtree on I-77 at Exit 31. It's a Shell Branded Station and at the time, I was using Shell Gas to keep the Fuel Injectors clean on a Turbo Charged Audi. This one had a deli called Metro Deli which was very good. This Home Run Market is also a Shell Brand but they call the food station, Metro Kitchen. Bought gas here several time but did not try the deli until about a week ago. Again, food is good and generally made to order with quality ingredients. Very good and very quick and very reasonable. Definitely recommend.
