Every year during lobster season in the Florida Keys, we make it a point to stop here--usually on a Tuesday or Wednesday. It's become one of our favorite traditions. The scenery is exactly what you'd expect in the Keys: beautiful waterfront views and a laid-back island atmosphere. Our main focus is always the cocktails, and my absolute favorite is the Key Lime Colada. It's a must-order every single visit! I'm a huge piña colada fan and have never really been much of a Key lime pie person, but somehow the combination of the two is absolutely amazing. The vibe here is super relaxed. We've arrived both by boat and by car, and no matter how we get here, it's always one of our first stops. On our very first visit, we paid for a day pass to use the pool, but the prices have gone up quite a bit over the years, so we usually skip that now. They often have live music, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and the smell of the stone-fired pizzas hits you the moment you walk inside. The indoor space is surprisingly large, and there's also a small gift shop where you can pick up a T-shirt or souvenir to remember your trip. If you're heading to the Florida Keys, I definitely recommend adding this place to your itinerary. Great drinks, beautiful views, and a fun, relaxing atmosphere make it a stop we look forward to every single year. read more

Watched for a bit and got right up to the stage but definitely not my scene and closes way too early at 10pm. The pizzas coming out of the oven looked amazing. This might honestly be one of the worst restaurant I've ever been to. The whole place felt dirty. There were shrimp tails on the floor, tables and floors that clearly needed attention, and meanwhile employees were just hanging around. If you have time to stand around, PICK UP THE SHRIMP TAILS. The ladies' room was gross too, so apparently the lack of cleaning wasn't limited to the dining room. And the food was awful. The chicken potato skins were so dry they were almost inedible. The cheeseburger was dry, overcooked and came with no mayo, mustard...nothing. Just a sad, dry burger apparently left to fend for itself. For a restaurant with Jimmy Johnson's name on it, this is embarrassing. Jimmy would not draft this place. He wouldn't even invite it to training camp. Dirty restaurant. Terrible food. The server was very nice and checked on us a few times but they definitely need more staff as our waiter was running around covering tables inside and outside. I ordered the grouper after asking what the fresh catch of the day was. When the plate arrived, several flies immediately gathered around the fish. I ate part of it before noticing that the smell and taste were not right. It had a sour, spoiled flavor, so I stopped eating and sent it back. Once the plate was removed, the flies were gone. There's a boat dock so you can park your boat and get food, a small sand area, a tiki bar and a sports bar. The sports bar area was lively and fun! The menus smelled so bad I think they need to change the water/ cloth they are using to wipe them down. I didn't like the fries and I noticed there was trash (menus & napkins) in the water. Stopped at Jimmy Johnson's Big Chill with my friend Jack on our way to Key West thinking we were about to enjoy good food, good vibes, and an easy road trip. What we got instead was a gastrointestinal thriller that nearly changed the course of our lives. About 37 minutes after leaving the restaurant, Jack went eerily silent. No music. No jokes. Just pure fear in his eyes as he whispered, "You need to pull over. NOW." What followed can only be described as a Category 5 emergency evacuation on the side of US-1. There were no restrooms. No gas stations. No hope. In a moment of pure survival instinct, Jack sacrificed TWO socks and a cloth face mask to make it through the incident. I watched a grown man stare at the ocean afterward like a Vietnam veteran reflecting on war. To make matters worse, we still had over an hour left to Key West and had to ride with the windows down while Jack sat in silence wearing shoes with no socks and absolutely no dignity. The food tasted good at the time, but if your meal ends with your friend using pandemic PPE as emergency toilet paper in the Florida Keys wilderness... was it really worth it? Would I come back? I would have given a 4 star, except that they added a service charge to use a credit card (4%). Which was a total surprise after we paid the bill.
