Classic diner with tons of seating. We came on a weekend for a late lunch and had great service. We sat in a booth towards the back that was a little worse for wear, but it was quiet back there and easy to get to the bathrooms. 3 people in our party ended up getting very sick from the chicken gravy and spent 2 days on the toilet non-stop. I got it the worst and ended up at the ER hospital to get IV fluids. Please review their most recent report from bucks county inspection where they had multiple violations and were specifically cited for not keeping their gravy at the proper temperature. If I could give no stars or zero stores I would. I got the pork roll egg and cheese egg sunny side up. When I got it there was no yolk. I told the server and he pointed to a DOT. A DOT that's not a yoke. A yolk should be round and of decent size and when you bite into it it should spread on the sandwich. The next day I called management and they were just as useless as the server. They seemed disinterested and didn't do anything to resolve the situation. I haven't been there since. read more

We usually go for the omelets, and they are always amazing -- fresh, filling, and cooked just right every time. The service is consistently good, which keeps us coming back. Something has changed and the experience and food quality has greatly deteriorated. 6 of us met for lunch on New Years Eve. 3 of the 6 of us got horrible food poisoning from their gravy (found in the chicken pot pie and on the Hot turkey sandwich). While our server was absolutely wonderful and this review isn't for him because he was fantastic. There was a birthday party going on at the diner (weird choice for a venue but ok) the kids were absolutely awful running around taking chairs from tables playing musical chairs? Parents? What the heck? Kids were rolling on the floor in front of where the servers serve food. It was just terrible. Lord knows this would be the day I rage quit. No kid in my family runs around a restaurant like this. Shame on management for letting the servers deal with those unruly kids and not saying one word the entire time. It took a lot in me not to shout at someone else's little brats. Unreal. Do better. Why did we get sat next to this group in the first place? We had chicken matzo ball soup and it was delicious. We ordered a side of sweet potato fries. We've been here before, but this time the service was not as good. The waitress put us off as we began to order and disappeared afterwards. We were in a bit of a rush and waved her down to order. She never checked back on us and we had to ask other waitresses to get her for us. We asked for a box, 2 cups, and the check. Ooph. Not a clean establishment in the front of the house, so have to assume that the back of the house (kitchen) is also not well kept. That said, I was not leaving my health to chance by eating here. After being seated, I noticed that our table didn't have just one spot of food/grease left behind my the last customer(s) to sit there, but obviously by many, based on the numbers of them and the associated levels of crust, etc. And, that was just the table. The laminated menu had two different spots of food which had not been wiped off, and were again, dried on over some time. One big spot looked like some sort of purplish berry drink or dessert, and the other was dried ketchup. Having a typical, mirrored diner decor inside on many surfaces, it was easy to spot all the dirt, grime, and smudges on those surfaces. Almost forgot that I had to wipe a number of crumbs off of my seat before entering the booth, too. All of that said, my guest and I were seated for about all of two minutes before I said "Let's get out of here and go some place cleaner, because I am not down for taking a chance here." There were only 5-6 cars in the parking lot during lunch time, versus a packed parking lot about a mile and a half down the road at the Golden Dawn, and for very good reason. read more

This is your typical diner in terms of its bakery in the forefront and it's dining area. They were super busy, most of the seats were filled and several families including mine waiting to be seated. We waited about 5 mins. before being seated. They were quick with getting our food out. We ordered an appetizer. It came out along with our main course. That is annoying. I like to have at least 10 mins between appetizers and my main course. I felt rushed the entire time. I had the side salad. It was fresh. I don't like Iceberg lettuce and that is what they use for their salads. Ugh! I prefer romaine, spinach, spring mix rather than ice burg. The asparagus was good but the dishes were somewhat bland. I took my food home and added more Parmesan, roasted some garlic and added a pinch of salt and crushed pepper. Now I could enjoy this meal. Overall, I had a good experience. This is a huge diner with an enormous menu selection. There were many booths and a very large bar. Upon entering, they have a small bakery section in the foyer with different pies and cheesecakes. They looked delicious. They also had the cinnamon and cheese bread that Mastori's in Bordentown was famous for. We were quickly seated and our waiter came right over. He brought a small plate of the cinnamon and cheese bread with butter. The cheese bread was delicious while the cinnamon bread seemed stale and was dry. For apps, we ordered the French onion soup and wings. The soup was very good. I didn't taste the wings but my partner said they were good. They looked over fried, perhaps twice fried, and looked dry. We had the Bristol burger and a Cobb Salad. My partner said the burger was ok but nothing special. The side of steak fries were good but you didn't get many. Had to ask twice for a side of mayo. The Cobb salad was good. Grilled chicken over spring mix with the usual blue cheese crumbles, bacon, avocado and tomatoes. The chicken was a bit dry and the tomatoes were awful but I'm spoiled by Jersey tomatoes. I've never had calamata olives in a Cobb salad, but it was fine. Overall, it was good for a diner but certainly not a place to rave about. We were in the area and decided to stop in. I would give it a try for breakfast. read more

First time having brunch here for Christmas Eve! Surprisingly it wasn't busy or anything like that, we instantly got sat down right when we walked in. I must also say that the whole staff is friendly and helpful... We usually come here in the early morning hours / overnight and ask for Jeanie or Cynthia to serve us... They are open 24 hours and you can eat inside or on the patio outside... There are heaters on the patio for the colder months... My husband and I call this place the GDD and Monday is our favorite day to go because they have this amazing soup called Yankee Bean soup and let me tell you, it is amazing and life-changing, not to mention delicious. I could probably drink a gallon of it but then again I'm trying not to eat that many beans lately lol. Over the years, I've tried many dishes from this fine establishment. It is very clean they take pride and great care in providing a clean and delicious experience. I've never had a bad time at this restaurant and even have befriended the wait staff. Another one of my favorites, from there are many meals include soup salad a drink and dessert and it is the chicken Parm mini meal. There's so many great dishes and the portions are huge. My husband usually likes to get a grilled chicken Caesar salad which is delicious and they make their own homemade Caesar dressing. I stopped in for lunch and ordered a shrimp salad wrap. It arrived as a hot pannini with grille marks. I was expecting a cold shrimp salad wrap but decided to keep it. It tasted different to me but didn't have a "bad" taste so I ate 3/4 of the sandwich. At the end, some of the shrimp salad spilled onto my plate and I noticed small white cubes resembling tofu so I questioned the waiter who checked with the chef. I was told it was imitation crab meat. The sandwich description was shrimp salad with tomatoes and lettuce. I have severe food allergies and cannot eat such things. I politely requested that the charge be waived since several things went wrong, one being very serious. As we speak, I am feeling very ill from this. The owner/management refused to waive the charge. We used to come here years ago when we were more local however since moving to NJ we have not had the opportunity. Stopping by the other day to our surprise was so great. Under new management/ownership this was a very nice experience. Food was great, lighting and ambiance was really nice. Staff was very helpful and happy to serve us. I can't wait to come back.
