Breakfast regulars here at the Golden Dawn for well over 10 years. A five points Levittown meeting spot for ages. The food and the faces are consistent and probably has one of the highest wait staff retention we've seen anywhere. The Golden Dawn is everything you expect and want a diner to be. Food is very good. The soups are homemade. With dinner you get soup and a salad and you could either get a Greek salad or Caesar salad had no extra charge. Also with dinner comes dessert. I especially like that. They are open until 11 on a Friday night. read more

Whenever we're back in Bucks County, we look forward to a diner breakfast. Sadly, all of our old haunts have closed, except for Golden Dawn. We had Eggs with Scrapple and Eggs with Porkroll, both of which were served with Potatoes and Toast. I had coffee with mine. Our service was fine, about average for a diner -- part of the experience. That's right... This is a 5 stareview for this Old Fashion American Diner. Started with an ice cold Michelob Ultra. Alisha, friendly- always smiling, and knows ALL the regulars was my server. told her I love roasted chicken dinners as well as chicken croquettes. I ordered the latter and the croquette was large, homemade, crispy on the outside. Served with traditional hot diner gravy over mashed. Delicious. My sides were fresh coleslaw- came with cup of soup and a salad. Also homemade rice pudding. I.was.stuffed. I sat there working a total of three hours and they seemed okay with that. Warm, friendly atmosphere. Perfect way to end a long work week. I look forward to the next time my day ends in Levittown. read more

My wife & I were just riding around and after getting hungry, we ran across the Golden Dawn American Restaurant. It was an excellent choice! There was plenty of parking. Outside there are steps on the left side and a wheel chair ramp on the right. When you get inside pass the foyer area (which has a bench seat) you see that it is bigger inside then it looks from the outside. We were greeted by the hostess who couldn't be sweeter. She treated us like we were friends coming to visit. Very clean environment. Decor was very nice also, with a few tv's playing in the background with the sound muted. Service was quick and our server (Brooke) was AWESOME!!! Like the hostess, she couldn't have been any sweeter. Super friendly. Attended to everything we needed promptly. All done with a big smile. The menu is HUGE!! If you can't find something to eat here, geez! This is diner style food. That being said, it was delicious!! And the portions are as big as the menu! Our meal included soup, salad & dessert. My wife's included two sides also. I had Matzo Ball Soup, a Cesar Salad & stuffed cabbage on top of mashed potatoes. So good! I must have really been hungry to eat the whole portion they served. My wife had the turkey, stuffing and gravy with cranberry sauce. She needed a doggie bag. We each had some for lunch the next day. There is still a little bit left. We didn't have room for the chocolate pudding that we chose for dessert. Brooke packed our chocolate pudding in containers to go. Even the portion of that was huge. Looks like a proper diner. Today's special had matzo ball soup. I need to try it. This restaurant had a fire place in it and a big screen tv. Tara is a wonderful waitress. Very attentive to our drinks and needs. We got a hot Rueben and a ham burger and rice pudding. The rice pudding was really really good. Didn't taste like it was made in a factory or out if a can. I was please about that. I wish I heard some oldies music! read more

I love diners but this one is just not one I dig. I thought the French toast was kind of dry but my friend enjoyed it. My eggs and potatoes were bland and under cooked. The waitress was attentive but the food just isn't worth a trip back. I called the diner from my home in Florida to order some delicious chicken soup for my son who was suffering from Covid after exposure over the weekend...likely from one of the patients he cared for from an emergency situation. He's an ICU nurse at a local hospital. I spoke to Maise at the diner and she was so gracious to put together the order and made a special arrangement to deliver the meal within the hour. This week, I went to the Golden Dawn diner for pancakes and coffee. While the service was good, the food was not. The coffee tasted burnt or as if the coffee maker had not been cleaned adequately. The pancakes had a grainy texture and off-putting flavor, and, except for the blueberries, unpleasant to eat. While the menu stated that the food was natural and contained no preservatives, I question this claim because I was served margarine, not butter and a flavorless "breakfast syrup" in two small containers. Also, the pancakes were definitely made from a mix, a bad one at that. I will never to eat at the Golden Dawn again. read more

Golden Dawn is like stepping into a time capsule. Everything from the decor to the menu is a throw back, it is a true diner in all the best possible ways. We ordered omelettes and they are served with the shredded hash browns. The portions are huge, the service on point and note- it gets busy. The food used to be good here. We got shrimp salad sandwiches. There was so much wrong. It was made with tiny canned shrimp. They were mushy and tasteless. There wasn't much on the sandwiches. The lettuce was limp and mushy. We asked for home fries but got burned hash browns. Home fries are sliced potatoes and hash browns are shredded potatoes. The cole slaw tasted funny like it had a different spice. Overall, it was disgusting. We told them how bad it was and we didn't even get the senior discount. The cashier was not friendly and was catonic. It was absolutely horrible. We'll never go there again. read more

I liked this restaurant as soon as entering the parking lot. It's not hard to miss. The outside done over well. When entering golden Dawn, was seated asap with no waiting. I was pleaded by the inside and the seating room. It's a good size restaurant with great service. The menu for breakfast, has a good size portion. Something hear that alot of other places don't do, is bring you out a mug and Coffee Thermos for the table. It saves from waiting for the waitress for your next cup of coffee, can just poor it yourself. I got the Italian omelette, with home fries and toast. When the food arrived at the Table, the plate was filled with no room to spare. With nice size omelette and home fries. There is no short of food when coming hear. I enjoyed the breakfast. Wen't to the Golden Dawn diner for dinner earlier this week, and by dinner i mean breakfast. Ordering food out is slim pickins when your on a ketogenic diet, but egg's are an enjoyable staple. I wound up ordering a Meat Lovers Omelette with cheese added. Portion size is quite large, at least on the meat lovers, the menu says it's a 3 egg omelette It feels closer to a 4 or 5 egg omelette, but that could be because of the absurd amount of meat packed into it. Eggs are hard to mess up badly, but equally hard to impress with, the Golden Dawn is leaning towards the impress side of things. Consistency of the eggs were nice and soft without any of the normal rubberiness most scrambled eggs will turn out with, not anywhere near the territory of a french omelette- but a great middle ground that people who like their egg consistency firmer or softer will still be able to enjoy. Ham made up the bulk of the meat in the omelette and that's okay, because its a decent ham, and the cheese here was well worth the added cost portion wise. Admittedly, the egg could do for a bit more seasoning, some herbs to spice things up but by no means was bland or tasteless. Cost wise, id say Golden Dawn is a fantastic choice for breakfast, the $9.52 i spent on my omelett was well worth it. Real breadwinner here though is their mac and cheese bites, one of my friends ordered them, and managed to make me try one through the almighty force of PEER PRESSURE. Suffice to say it was delicious and it took every ounce of self restraint i had not to take another and keep true to my diet- so that's a definite recommendation from me. Golden Dawn was a disappointment on several levels. First, sitting at the end of the counter it took overly long for someone to slip me a menu and offer me a cup of coffee. I understand busy, but there were several staff people just walking around with their heads down. Second, the French Toast I ordered, while thick as advertised, had not soaked long enough in the egg mix, and the center of each slice was dry. This made for a less than enjoyable experience. Just glad I went with a short stack. Third, although I sat at the counter for at least 30 minutes as I waited and ate, no one came by with a pot of coffee and offered to refill my mug.
