Blueberry stout beer, pinot grigio

A great spot to try local wines and beers while enjoying Solvang. The vibe feels cozy and exclusive, yet in a very friendly way. The bartender (owner?) is so knowledgeable and offers great service. In addition to drinks, they offer cheese plates and a few other snacks. Casual classy.

We were looking for a winery and came by this one. It's a cute wine bar inside. We ordered rose wine, beer flight, and a charcuterie board with meat. The wine and beer were really good. I thought the charcuterie board was okay. The bagel crackers were so hard and stale. Some of the cheese were good but some of them weren't. I really didn't think the meats were that good. I'm not sure if it's also because the bagel crackers were so hard so maybe that's why I didn't enjoy the charcuterie board as much. I thought I was going to break my teeth while eating. I just felt like a lot of the things on the charcuterie board were hard or just not tasty. The place was really cute but I feel like there's plenty of wineries nearby.

This was a nice cute, quaint place to chill and have a drink. Very homie cottage vibe. The service was great, welcoming and accommodating. Would come here again.

We stopped by The Good Life late night for a couple drinks this past weekend. It's a cute and cozy spot with excellent service. The menu consists of beer, wine, and small bites. We enjoyed the Del Cielo "savage red" irish red ale and a glass of the Riding Monkey alicante bouschet red wine, while sharing casual conversation and appreciating the laid back atmosphere. They offer live music here on some days too, not during our recent visit, but I can imagine that being a great addition.

10/2024 This cozy little wine bar is a perfect place to gather with friends. They offer a selection of bar snacks to enjoy with your wine. A very clean and well organized bottle of wine selections.

Alfred's wine choice for me
Jennifer N.

Alfred was very welcoming and knowledgeable. Tell him your likes and he will help you select the perfect wine for your palette. I am not quite sure if Alfred has a photographic memory, but this guy can tell you how many barrels of each wine he carries was produced. Very impressive! Cute cozy place with a great selection of craft beer and excellent wine. If you like a unique spot with a quaint charm, this is your place.

The good life is famous for wine tasting . I tried this place for wine tasting . They have nice wine that you can try . They cost you $25

This is the rude racist lady

My first time in Solvang and I was walking around looking for the closest restroom. I walked down to The Good Life wine cellar and asked the bartender where the closest restroom was. He was polite and told me to go to the office and open the door and it would be there. I used the rest room for no longer than a couple of minutes and walked put. A older lady stopped me at the door and blocked me and rudely asked what I was doing. She had curly tangled hair, crooked glasses like she just woke up. She looked me up and down and was very rude as if I was stealing something. I told her I was just using the restroom. She was disgusted and rudely said that I shouldn't be using their restroom and it was only for paying customers. Little did she know I asked the bartender before I used the restroom and he showed me where it was. I was the only brown colored person in there at the time. The women who probably owns the shop is racist and rude. I would not have used the restroom if the bartender didn't let me. Please do not support this business they are rude and racist especially the white lady with curly tangled hair with glasses, you know who you are. Do not go here, there are many wine places to choose from in Solvang that has wine tasting and craft beer. It was a Saturday and they were only 2 people in the business and wonder why. I would avoid this place at all cost. 0 STARS!

Since The Good Life was one of our last stops and I had to drive back to L.A., I skipped getting alcohol and tried their cream soda instead. I've always been a fan of cream sodas and this was a brand I'd never heard of. It was right on par with similar drinks and perfectly sweet with a nice carbonation. We had our two dogs with us so we sat outside on the patio, which had comfortable booths but got chilly fast when the sun went down.

We went here twice during our stay. The first time going we had a male server with dark hair and he was really nice. When we went Saturday evening about 930pm we had Lisa and she was really rude. She made us feel unwelcome and like we shouldn't be there. We were the youngest at the bar. We are only 32. Another young couple came in shortly after us and sat behind us and Lisa said to me "what are you doing here" really rude. It's almost like she wants a older clientele there. Pretty bummed that was our last encounter there.

This little tucked away location is a great place to relax while sipping wine. Upon entering, you see a plethora of wine, cozy seating and a friendly staff member to help you. My friend and i enjoyed of glasses of wine and reading the fun books they had. I will say no glass of wine is under $14 (from what i recall) so just be aware of that. I wish there was a cheaper option but the wine i did get was great!

This cozy little spot has good flights of beer along with good ambiance, would recommend coming in for a flight and a charcuterie board.

Other patrons were asked if they needed anything.. twice. Finally, I flagged down the waitress for a menu and was guided inside to order my food. I opted for the anniversary special: potatoes, corn, shrimp, and a sweet wine. The owner was a little taken aback when he received a notification about my low-star review. I expressed that it was me, and to help him understand better, I explained the reason why. What was very unprofessional was that he verbalized this to the table next to me, revealing exactly what had happened and who had rated his establishment with low stars. Food 3/5 Music 5/5 Cleaningness 5/5 Customer Service 3/5 (May some improvement/ $7 tip for the Hostess, who finally attended me :) Sofie As I read the response from the owner I'm baffled..so from 3 stars to 1 stars . To say I used profanity, for what reason ?, however I did give a tip .Sir you have a bad temper. I didn't check in with anyone because no one was there and when I asked for a menu, 10 minutes later I was told the Menu for food was Inside. This is when you greeted me with a smile did you not forget. It's ok my review will stay and no I didn't just come to review, I wanted to yelp an eatery and I chose your establishment, I spent well over $40. Your passive aggressiveness shows.

After a delicious dinner nearby, we stopped in for drinks, live music, and a good time and this place delivered. They had a great live band playing fun tunes that really set the atmosphere. The vibe was relaxed, lively, and exactly what we were looking for to end the night. Their drink menu is packed with creative and fun options. I ordered the Mango Michelada, and it absolutely did not disappoint. Our waiter was also fantastic, very attentive, friendly, and kept checking in on us throughout the night. After walking in and passing the host stand, a server who was seated at the bar got up, walked us to a table, and suggested we sit on the loveseat. The host was friendly and welcoming, and the space itself seemed promising. We were excited to settle in, have a drink, and check the place out. The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, but shortly after we were seated, a larger group came in. From that point on, it felt like we were completely forgotten. The server focused on the larger party, taking drink orders and delivering beverages as more guests from their group arrived. Meanwhile, we sat waiting without any acknowledgment. Another group of ladies was seated nearby and appeared just as confused about who was helping them. We both work in the restaurant industry, so we understand that larger parties can demand attention and that things don't always go perfectly. We tried to be patient and give the team the benefit of the doubt. However, after waiting more than 15 minutes without anyone checking on us, taking a drink order, or even acknowledging our table, we decided to leave. What made the experience especially frustrating was that the restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived. We never felt welcomed beyond being shown to our table, and ultimately it felt like our business wasn't valued. Hopefully this was just an off night, because the atmosphere and concept seemed like something we would have enjoyed. We'd be willing to give it another chance, but first impressions matter, and unfortunately this one missed the mark. Sadly, it looks like we definitely missed out on the famous Bowl for Two.

He was excellent--he walked us through the specials, took our orders accurately, and provided fantastic service throughout the evening. The food was outstanding. We started with the Pomegranate Spritz, which was excellent. The bread and butter service with the baguette, chimichurri glaze, and pickled onions was delicious, and we noticed almost every table was ordering it. The New England Clam Chowder soup special was creamy, delicious, and generously portioned, as was the perfectly fried calamari. For our main course, we both had the short ribs, which were fork-tender and paired perfectly with the creamy mashed potatoes. The only disappointment of the evening was that we had noted in our online reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary, but this was never acknowledged during our visit. Despite this minor oversight, we had a great experience and will definitely return the next time we are in Solvang. Please pass along our compliments to George and the kitchen staff.

Final Girl Wines was a must stop for me while visiting Solvang!…read more Final Girl Wines is located in the heart of Solvang and is a funky addition to this magical little town. I am a huge horror fan so I was beyond excited to check them out over the weekend! The inside and vibe was all I could hope for and more! We were immediately greeted when we arrived and found a table to sit at and enjoy our time. There were only a few tables plus bar seating available so it was nice and cozy. I loved seeing all of the horror memorabilia, decor and merchandise throughout including the killer Ghostface mask and Halloween pinball machine. My husband ordered a glass of their Cab which he loved and I ordered a Vamperol Spritz - they were even kind enough to make our daughter a mocktail. They even brought her over a Nightmare Before Christmas activity kit to keep busy and we bought a Michael Myers sticker as well as a Nightmare Before Christmas hair clip to take home. I'm kicking myself now for not buying a t-shirt! Kids are very welcome at this winery which was a huge plus for us! Staff were personable and made our visit very enjoyable! Final Girl Wines also offers tasting flights and non-alcoholic options as well! They do not offer food, but there are so many great places in Solvang to check out.
