Beware Before Booking - Extremely Disappointing Experience…read more I rented this home for Thanksgiving weekend 2024, expecting a comfortable and well-maintained property, as I have for the past eight years in the Mt. Hood area. Unfortunately, this rental was a complete disappointment. The home had serious issues, including electrical and plumbing problems, mold, rodent activity, and overall poor maintenance. To make matters worse, the house was filthy upon arrival. At no point prior to my stay was I informed of these issues, nor was I given the option to cancel or receive a discount due to the condition of the home. I initially booked through VRBO, but my reservation was transferred to Cascadia Getaways. After experiencing these unacceptable conditions, I immediately contacted Cascadia, providing detailed descriptions and photographic evidence of the problems. Despite requesting a full refund, I was offered only $250--an amount that didn't even cover the cleaning fee, which was over $600. If you are considering renting this home, I strongly encourage you to reach out to me. I have pictures, detailed documentation, and correspondence with Ryan from Cascadia Getaways that highlight the extent of the issues. My goal in sharing this experience is to prevent another family from paying a premium price for a subpar and unsanitary rental. We have stayed in many high-quality homes over the years and know what to expect for the price we paid--this home fell far below any reasonable standard. I can be reached at Wendybias@aol.com Proceed with caution before booking.

This was the most disappointing rental we have ever booked for our annual family Christmas. The…read morehouse was very DIRTY (beds not made yet, sticky floors, meat juices all over the inside of the fridge). The kitchen hood didn't work and the fridge temp was over 50 degrees and would not lower. The hot tub water smelled like rotten egg and the hot tub cover was broken. Coffee pot broken. Dishwasher broken. We found a gross towel in the sauna and black mold on one of the bathroom walls growing. Several lights had non functioning bulbs and we had no access to find more as they keep supplies locked up. One of the bulbs was shattered on the bathroom floor when we arrived? We had stayed here nine years ago and it was awesome then. Obviously the new owners do not care much about upkeep. We called the property managers number to share our concerns and never heard back?? We don't recommend this facility. Stay somewhere else!

Our group of four stayed in Chalet 13 from June 24-27 while attending a wedding at Mt. Hood. The…read morefirst part of our stay was great. We loved the beautiful grounds, and the chalet was comfortable and exactly what we were hoping for. Unfortunately, around 1:00 a.m. on the second to last night of our stay, we returned from the wedding festivities to find that the entire chalet smelled overwhelmingly of sewage. The odor was present throughout all three floors and became stronger with each level. It was so intense that several of us were gagging and even became physically sick. We attempted to book a room at the nearest hotel but they were fully booked, leaving us with no choice but to stay. We opened every window in the chalet and had to leave them open for the remainder of our stay because the smell was otherwise unbearable. We made every effort to report the issue while it was happening. That night, we called the resort's emergency after hours hotline but never received a return call or any follow up. Upon checking out on the final day, I reported the situation again to the staff member at the front desk. He was incredibly kind, apologetic, and assured me the situation was unacceptable. He explained that the manager, Dan, would contact me and that a partial refund would likely be appropriate given the circumstances. After several days passed without any communication, I reached out to the resort myself. I was told that maintenance had inspected the chalet, along with neighboring units, and could not detect any unusual odor. While I appreciate that they took the concern seriously enough to inspect the property, this was very surprising given that all four of us experienced the smell, and it was severe enough that we were becoming physically ill. I was again told that Dan would contact me, but as of writing this review, I still have not received any phone call or email. It's disappointing because, aside from this issue, our stay would have easily earned five stars. I understand that unexpected maintenance problems can happen and I don't fault the resort for an issue that may have been outside their immediate control. What disappointed me most was the lack of follow through after we were assured someone would reach out. Good customer service isn't just responding in the moment--it's also following through on the commitments made afterward. I genuinely hope the source of the odor has been identified and resolved, as it's a beautiful property and I'd love to recommend it. However, I also hope future guests experiencing an issue like this receive the communication and resolution that we unfortunately never did.

The lack of 2 nd car parking is surprising since the place clearly holds more than 1 car of people. The building was nice and reasonably clean, if difficult to make baby safe. Location is good in government camp. We did not have a dog but seemed incredibly dog friendly. Check in took a long time - we waited in the clubhouse.

My in laws recommended them to my husband and I, as they have bought many fixer uppers. We specifically worked with Chloe Leatherwood. She was so patient, kind and helpful through this entire process. She would point out things to us that we didn't really know to look for in a home. I never felt like we were pushed or rushed to find a house or look at more houses. We looked at as many houses as we wanted to and she would work with the listing agents to coordinate times for showings that worked with all of our schedules. Once we found the house, her and our lender worked together seamlessly to get the offer out, and communicate with the seller of our home. Ashley Riordan was also extremely helpful with getting bids from contractors to fix the things our inspector found. She also dealt with the many questions I had. In the end everything came together perfectly and we closed a week early! I honestly can't say enough good things about this team! If we ever sell our house to get a different one, in the way distant future, they will be my first call!
