I had ordered her some food for delivery & when I was placing the order, the person taking the order stated that they deliver to the property all the time & no problem on delivering to her door. For reassurance, I clearly stated, "Please make sure the delivery person informs the Concierge that the resident is not able come down as her wheelchair is not working." The person I was speaking with happen to be the Owner of the restaurant & said "not a problem". Do you know that the Concierge had the audacity to text my friend to tell her a delivery was downstairs? Hence, I ended up arriving & having a conversation with the delivery person. That poor soul, he said he tried to speaking to the Concierge, yet she kept ignoring him. I see why my friend received a text. I did what MK needed to do to ensure that this mishap never happens again. No one will ever inhumanely treat anyone I know or don't know as a matter of fact, with disabilities & or needs assistance with accessibility on my watch...& I mean no one. Who would want to live at a community where the front line employee behaves in this manner? It's a rhetorical question.

The location near the metro and rock creek is ideal and there's abundant street parking for guests. I've had little interaction with the leasing office since moving in because there haven't been any issues, but renewals were fairly priced. No issues with bugs or anything. The bonus is the market on the ground floor where you can get snacks or beer/wine quickly for guests. Overall I think it's the best apartment building in the area and I would recommend living here for anyone searching in the area.

My rep: Kayla (last part of my review will be about the actual tour of the building)…read more 5 stars all around. This place brings 'earthy' ambiance to the next level. All photos online looked identical to in person touring. The residents seem very respectful and the space just screams 'home is peace.' My agent was 6/5 AMAZING - so personable, so informative, so understanding, and so professional. Kayla was an amazing agent. I had an incident where I got overly lightheaded after standing up too quick after the seated consult with Kayla. The minute she noticed I dropped my phone and was losing consciousness- she stepped in with no hesitation and another worker at the Astrid came quick to stand by. With the chance of me falling being present, they were both ready to catch me. As soon as I regained consciousness, all I could think to do was apologize over and over again. They comforted me in a way that I'll never forget and I hope they know how grateful I am as someone who struggled with epilepsy for a few years. They both told me to stop apologizing and said it was completely okay and that there is nothing to worry about, Kayla was quick to get me a water. Kayla took initiative and continued the tour without making me feel different or odd, she kept it so lively even after that incident. She made me laugh and showed the space thoroughly and my feelings of guilt and embarrassment were subsided tremendously. Although it's been 2 years since my last epileptic incident- the trauma from the reoccurring incidents in the past definitely came to the surface. Thank you Kayla. I hope you get a chance to read this. Your protocol, professionalism, humanity, and liveliness will be remembered. Although the Astrid's pricing is a bit up there- they are currently still offering 2 months free with the option to prorate it. I HIGHLY recommend touring the Astrid and with Kayla at that. The Astrid is amazing. All photos are an accurate representation. Think quiet, peace, earthy, friendly, professionals. It's hard not to fall in love with this place when touring. I've been met with a great opportunity for a 1bed/1bath within my budget in a different complex, however, if it weren't for that, The Astrid would have been my pick. Maybe I'll be back! I had great tours at other places for sure but I am so grateful to have gotten the unit I was hoping for and to have Naomi guiding me through the whole process, making it 10x easier for me through the craziness I've been in really locked the whole deal in for me. Though I haven't moved in YET, I am absolutely thrilled to see the unit in person. I am super hopeful. Naomi was on top of everything for me. She was up after hours and responded to all my emails even when it was close to midnight! Thank you Naomi for relieving this stress inducing search!!! I am so hopeful that the unit will be amazing when I get to tour it. The building itself is stunning and well maintained. They seem to do residential activities. They have a DOG PARK!!! A gym with a free weight barbell which was huge for me. They have a rooftop pool. Again, I am so hopeful that my unit will be perfect and in that case- Harwood flats has checked off almost every box for me that I've been carrying throughout my search. The ONE thing would be the parking fee. They charge $200 for garage parking and $150 for surface parking. Other than that, everything is amazing! I'll definitely do a follow up review in the future if I do end up moving in! Super excited!

As I continue my search and have more time, I'd definitely love to come back and tour a new unit along with the amenities that The Milton has to offer (I didn't get to tour the lounge, gym, etc). I will definitely be asking for Christa if I do pay another visit. Thank you Christa.

As our needs have changed, we went from renting a two bedroom to buying a one bedroom (with a huge storage unit). Pros: -The gym is phenomenal. Ellipticals, treadmills, bikes, a yoga area, resistance machine, bodybuilding machines, a power rack with cables, bench presses with various inclines, free weights...you name it. I toured all four of the Grosvenor park condo buildings and picked 10101 primarily because of the gym. -Filled with light (Huge windows and tall building) -Pool is steps from the building. The deepest point in the entire pool is five feet. Lifeguard always on duty. -Use of the gas grills is free (keeping our AC bills low). -Locker room has showers (great when improvements were being made to the shower in our unit and we couldn't use them). -Business center with computers - 2nd floor hangout space with a theater room. When my husband or I need to read or concentrate (away from our active toddler) we love coming to these spaces that are always a quiet, clean refuge. -Our heating and cooling bills are SO low. Because there are so many units, the building is super well insulated. Once when my husband was out of town for a week in the winter, I experimented by leaving the heat off and it never dipped below 67 degrees. It's so nice to know that we can afford to have our house be the "perfect" temperature all year round. -It's CRAZY how quiet the building is. I don't know what they make these walls from, but I can count on one hand the number of times I've heard any traces of human life from the inside of my apartment. -It's one of the only condominiums anywhere that allows dogs. The dog park was recently renovated and looks great. Many residents know the names of everyone's dogs. It's really touching. -The grounds are immaculate. Sometimes, I can't believe I can afford to live here. My toddler loves the two different playgrounds within walking distance. In the summer we love to walk outside at night and hear the bullfrogs at the pond. You can see fish and turtles playing in the water from the bridge. There are several different kinds of herons and neat ducks (including the hooded merganser). During the holiday season, the whole building is lit up with lights on every other balcony. It's magical. -The red line metro is a 0.7 mile walk (like ten unhurried minutes) through an actual park next to a pond. Even better, the 46 bus going south is a two minute walk out the back of the building towards Rockville pike. If you're commuting to NIH or Walter Reed, it can't be beat. -There's an attached garage--some units come with spaces. If not, there are often garage spots (and storage spots) coming up for rent constantly on the corkboard on the T1 level. You won't have to wait long before something becomes available. We love not having to shovel snow anymore. When it rains, we drive from our garage to the Whole Foods garage up the road. I love staying dry! -24/7 concierge, which I primarily enjoy because I never have to worry about my packages getting stolen. -Water is free! You can take as many hot showers as you want! -Trash chute! I don't have to think about "trash day" anymore. -I love the IN UNIT washers and dryers! No more quarters! (The other Grosvenor Park condos still have laundry in the basement.) -The ramp to 495 is directly across Rockville Pike, so I can get everywhere quickly. -The picturesque Rock Creek Park trail, which is right across Rockville Pike. There's a little stream that runs parallel to the trail, so cool air sweeps across the top of the water and cools off summer runs. Every weekend it's actually closed off to cars, so you can bike in the middle of the street. Cons: While nobody likes HOA fees (Ours is around $579 monthly for a one bedroom), they are lower here than in any of the other Grosvenor Park buildings. Between maintenance of common spaces, pool, gym, concierge, trash disposal, and water being included, I feel like we actually get a lot for what we're paying for. -During Covid, the Sauna has been closed -The milieu of the building is that people are friendly but tend to keep to themselves. In the six years I've been here, I've made three close friends with neighbors in the building. If you are looking for friends, you can definitely find them here, but it may not be instant. The social committee has done a great job of hosting wonderful social events. -I won't lie--a one bedroom with two parents and a toddler is small. We've had to embrace the Marie Condo way of life and the Goodwill that's 10 minutes away. I realize that I've typed more than I meant to say! I just love living here.

It's a great place to live because of them- the front desk and maintenance workers, it's just my main warning here is the absurd construction. While I've occasionally had my disagreements about things and took a star off during my last review following an upset, potentially likely due to my own high standards and occasional bratty-ness, the office staff is never petty about it nor holds it against me and still goes the extra mile to address all resident concerns. I complained a few times in the winter about hot water running out because I'm a bit of a diva and like to take really long showers and baths (over 20 minutes) , and the management staff, Jennifer and Nicole, and maintenance team, Isaac and Jose, moved mountains to address the issue - from ordering a new water heater, to trying different brands of water heaters, etc. they wouldn't drop the issue until they knew I was satisfied - which says a lot about customer service. Especially after I've had prior moments of being bratty with them and threw a few temper tantrums in the past lol *embarrassed face*. Vivian, Helen, and Kyle at the front desk along with the new staff are always amazing and so helpful. If they see you coming in with heavy boxes and hands full and recognize you, they unlock the front door so you're not struggling to find your keys while holding on to grocery bags. Makes more of a difference now that many of us are spending more time at home. Anyhow, it's a great community. You can *feel* the difference of the vibe here versus other apartment communities I've visited when I entertained the brief idea of moving. I haven't lived anywhere this long since 2006. Sure, some have complained about thin walls - but that is apartment living anywhere you go. This is still the best customer service I've experienced in my life at an apartment community. They are building a 3rd community building next door I think... so keep an eye out. ;-) Great job, LCOR. Thank you for spoiling us with great staff.
